12 Now even (A)tax collectors came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what are we to do?” 13 And he said to them, “[a]Collect no more than what you have been ordered to.” 14 And soldiers also were questioning him, saying, “What are we to do, we as well?” And he said to them, “Do not extort money from anyone, nor [b](B)harass anyone, and (C)be content with your wages.”

13 “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,”(B) he told them.
14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?”
He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely(C)—be content with your pay.”
