²⁹but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and ^(A)the day is now far spent.” So he went in to stay with them.

²⁹But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

²⁹But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

⁴^(A)“Prepare war against her;
arise, and let us attack ^(B)at noon!
Woe to us, for the day declines,
for the shadows of evening lengthen!

⁴“Prepare for battle against her!
Arise, let us attack at noon!^(A)
But, alas, the daylight is fading,
and the shadows of evening grow long.

⁴Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
