12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over to look in, he saw only the strips of linen cloth. He went home, amazed at what had happened.

13 Now, on that same day, two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about all of these things that had happened.

12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves,(A) and he went away,(B) wondering to himself what had happened.
