⁴² Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.^[a]”^(A)

¹¹ And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life,^(A) and this life is in his Son.^{(B) 12} Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.^(C)

Concluding Affirmations

¹³ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God^(D) so that you may know that you have eternal life.^(E)

¹⁰ nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers^(A) will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And that is what some of you were.^(B) But you were washed,^(C) you were sanctified,^(D) you were justified^(E) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

⁹ If you declare^(A) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”^(B) and believe^(C) in your heart that God raised him from the dead,^(D) you will be saved.^{(E) 10} For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. ¹¹ As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”^{[a](F) 12} For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile^(G)—the same Lord is Lord of all^(H) and richly blesses all who call on him, ¹³ for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord^(I) will be saved.”^[b](J)

¹⁴ How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

³¹ They replied, “Believe^(A) in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved^(B)—you and your household.”^(C)
