35 And the people stood by, watching. And even the (A)rulers were sneering at Him, saying, “He saved others; (B)let Him save Himself if this is the [a]Christ of God, His Chosen One.” 36 The soldiers also ridiculed Him, coming up to Him, (C)offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, “(D)If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!” 38 Now there was also an inscription above Him, “(E)THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him.(C) They offered him wine vinegar(D) 37 and said, “If you are the king of the Jews,(E) save yourself.”
38 There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.(F)
