2 And the chief priests and the scribes (A)were trying to find [a]a way to put Him to death, since they were afraid of the people.
3 (B)And (C)Satan entered Judas, the one called Iscariot, [b]who belonged to the number of the twelve. 4 And he left and discussed with the chief priests and (D)officers how he was to betray Him to them. 5 And they were delighted, and agreed to give him money. 6 And so he consented, and began looking for a good opportunity to betray Him to them [c]away from the crowd.

New International Version
2 and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus,(A) for they were afraid of the people. 3 Then Satan(B) entered Judas, called Iscariot,(C) one of the Twelve. 4 And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard(D) and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. 5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money.(E) 6 He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.
