41 (A)But He said to them, “How is it that they say the [a]Christ is (B)David’s son? 42 For David himself says in the book of Psalms,

International Standard Version
A Question about David’s Son(A)
41 Then he asked them, “How can people[a] say that the Messiah[b] is David’s son? 42 Because David himself in the book of Psalms says,
‘The Lord[c] told my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
43 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’[d]
44 So David calls him ‘Lord.’ Then how can he be his son?”
