Luke 20:16-18

New King James Version

¹⁶He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to ^(A)others.”

And when they heard it they said, “Certainly not!”

¹⁷Then He looked at them and said, “What then is this that is written:

^(B)‘The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone’?

¹⁸Whoever falls on that stone will be ^(C)broken; but ^(D)on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”

¹⁷Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:

“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone’^[a]?^(B)

¹⁸Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”^(C)
