7 And she (A)gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a [a]manger, because there was no place for them in the [b]guest room.
8 In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And (B)an angel of the [c]Lord (C)stood before them, and the glory of the [d]Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.

New International Version
7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel(A) of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
