Anna’s Testimony

³⁶ There was also a prophetess,^(A) Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.^(B) She was well along in years,^[a] having lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,^[b](C)

⁷ And they were astounded and amazed, saying,^[a] “Look, aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?^(A)

13 In the church that was at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen, a close friend of Herod the tetrarch,^(A) and Saul.

⁵ But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since that is one and the same as having her head shaved.^(A)
