34 And Simeon blessed them and said to (A)His mother Mary, “Behold, this Child is appointed for (B)the fall and [a]rise of many in Israel, and as a sign to be [b]opposed— 35 and a sword will pierce your own soul—to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.”

34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother:(A) “This child is destined to cause the falling(B) and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
Romans 9:32-33

32 Why? Because they did not pursue it [a]by faith, but as though they could [b]by works. They stumbled over (A)the stumbling stone, 33 just as it is written:
“(B)Behold, I am laying in Zion (C)a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense,
(D)And the one who believes in Him (E)will not be [c]put to shame.”
