20 Then the shepherds returned to their flock,[a] glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.

21 After eight days had passed, the infant[b] was circumcised and named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

22 When the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary[c] took Jesus[d] up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord,

New International Version
20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God(A) for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child,(B) he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.(C)
