So Jesus[a] sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover meal for us that we may eat it.”(A) They asked him, “Where do you want us to make preparations for it?” 10 “Listen,” he said to them, “when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you; follow him into the house he enters 11 and say to the owner of the house, ‘The teacher asks you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?” ’ 12 He will show you a large room upstairs, already furnished. Make preparations for us there.” 13 So they went and found everything as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover meal.

When you depart from me today you will meet two men by Rachel’s tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; they will say to you, ‘The donkeys that you went to seek are found, and now your father has stopped worrying about them and is worrying about you, saying: “What shall I do about my son?” ’(A) Then you shall go on from there further and come to the oak of Tabor; three men going up to God at Bethel will meet you there: one carrying three kids, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin of wine.(B) They will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall accept from them. After that you shall come to Gibeath-elohim,[a] at the place where the Philistine garrison is; there, as you come to the town, you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the shrine with harp, tambourine, flute, and lyre playing in front of them; they will be in a prophetic frenzy.(C) Then the spirit of the Lord will possess you, and you will be in a prophetic frenzy along with them and be turned into a different person.(D) Now when these signs meet you, do whatever you see fit to do, for God is with you.(E) And you shall go down to Gilgal ahead of me; then I will come down to you to present burnt offerings and offer sacrifices of well-being. Seven days you shall wait, until I come to you and show you what you shall do.”(F)

  1. 10.5 Or the hill of God

When you leave me today, you will meet two men near Rachel’s tomb,(A) at Zelzah on the border of Benjamin. They will say to you, ‘The donkeys(B) you set out to look for have been found. And now your father has stopped thinking about them and is worried(C) about you. He is asking, “What shall I do about my son?”’

“Then you will go on from there until you reach the great tree of Tabor. Three men going up to worship God at Bethel(D) will meet you there. One will be carrying three young goats, another three loaves of bread, and another a skin of wine. They will greet you and offer you two loaves of bread,(E) which you will accept from them.

“After that you will go to Gibeah(F) of God, where there is a Philistine outpost.(G) As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets(H) coming down from the high place(I) with lyres, timbrels,(J) pipes(K) and harps(L) being played before them, and they will be prophesying.(M) The Spirit(N) of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed(O) into a different person. Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever(P) your hand(Q) finds to do, for God is with(R) you.

“Go down ahead of me to Gilgal.(S) I will surely come down to you to sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, but you must wait seven(T) days until I come to you and tell you what you are to do.”
