Luke 17:8-10

8 Instead, will he not tell him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, get ready,[a] and serve me while I eat and drink; later you can eat and drink’?(A) 9 Does he thank that slave because he did what was commanded?[b] 10 In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say, ‘We are good-for-nothing(B) slaves; we’ve only done our duty.’”

8 Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me(A) while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? 9 Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”(B)
