17 Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble^(A) are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.^(B)

¹⁹A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city,
And contentions are like the bars of a castle.

¹⁹A brother wronged^(A) is more unyielding than a fortified city;
disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
