41 But (A)give as alms those things that are within, and behold, (B)everything is clean for you.

42 (C)“But woe to you Pharisees! For (D)you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect (E)justice and (F)the love of God. (G)These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 43 Woe to you Pharisees! For (H)you love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.

42 “Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth(C) of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God.(D) You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.(E)

43 “Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and respectful greetings in the marketplaces.(F)
