⁶³ He asked for a writing tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they were all amazed.

³³ His father and mother^[a] were amazed at what was being said about him.

²² They were all speaking well of him^[a] and were amazed by the gracious words that came from his mouth; yet they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” ^(A)

²⁵ He said to them, “Where is your faith?”

They were fearful and amazed, asking one another, “Who then is this?^(A) He commands even the winds and the waves, and they obey him!”

⁴³ And they were all astonished at the greatness of God.^(A)

The Second Prediction of His Death

While everyone was amazed at all the things he was doing,^(B) he told his disciples,

A House Divided

¹⁴ Now^(A) he was driving out a demon^(B) that was mute.^(C) When the demon came out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed.

³⁸ When the Pharisee saw this, he was amazed that he did not first perform the ritual washing^[a](A) before dinner.^(B)

²⁶ They were not able to catch him in what he said in public, and being amazed at his answer, they became silent.^(A)

¹² Peter,^(A) however, got up and ran to the tomb. When he stooped to look in, he saw only the linen cloths.^[a](B) So he went away, amazed^(C) at what had happened.

⁴¹ But while they still were amazed and in disbelief because of their joy, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
