English Standard Version
45 And (A)blessed is she who believed that there would be[a] a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”
Mary's Song of Praise: The Magnificat
46 And Mary said,
(B)“My (C)soul (D)magnifies the Lord,
47 (E)and my (F)spirit rejoices in (G)God my Savior,
48 for (H)he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations (I)will call me blessed;
49 for (J)he who is mighty (K)has done great things for me,
and (L)holy is his name.
50 And (M)his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
51 (N)He has shown strength with his arm;
(O)he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 (P)he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
(Q)and exalted those of humble estate;
53 he has filled (R)the hungry with good things,
and the rich (S)he has sent away empty.
54 He has (T)helped (U)his servant Israel,
(V)in remembrance of his mercy,
55 (W)as he spoke to our fathers,
(X)to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
56 And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.
