^27 (A)to a virgin betrothed^[a] to a man whose name was Joseph, ^(B)of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary.

³¹ And behold, ^(A)you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and ^(B)you shall call his name Jesus.

³⁵ And the angel answered her, ^(A)“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of ^(B)the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born^[a] will be called ^(C)holy—^(D)the Son of God.

⁴² and she exclaimed with a loud cry, ^(A)“Blessed are you among women, and ^(B)blessed is ^(C)the fruit of your womb!
