Ang Salita ng Dios (Tagalog Contemporary Bible)
Mga Babaeng Tumutulong kay Jesus
8 Pagkatapos, nilibot ni Jesus ang mga bayan at mga nayon ng Galilea. Nangaral siya ng Magandang Balita tungkol sa paghahari ng Dios. Kasama niya ang 12 apostol 2 at ilang babaeng pinagaling niya sa sakit o pinalaya sa masasamang espiritu. Kabilang dito si Maria na taga-Magdala[a] na pinalaya niya mula sa pitong masasamang espiritu, 3 si Juana na asawa ni Cuza na katiwala ni Herodes, si Susana, at marami pang iba. Ang mga babaeng ito ay tumutulong sa mga pangangailangan nina Jesus mula sa mga ari-arian nila.
Ang Talinghaga tungkol sa Manghahasik(A)
4 Isang araw, nagdatingan ang maraming tao mula sa ibaʼt ibang bayan at lumapit kay Jesus. Ikinuwento niya sa kanila ang talinghaga na ito:
5 “May isang magsasakang naghasik ng binhi. Sa kanyang paghahasik, may mga binhing nahulog sa tabi ng daan, natapakan ito ng mga dumadaan at tinuka ng mga ibon. 6 May mga binhi namang nahulog sa mabatong lugar. Tumubo ang mga ito, pero madaling nalanta dahil sa kawalan ng tubig. 7 May mga binhi namang nahulog sa lupang may matitinik na damo. Sabay na tumubo ang mga binhi at mga damo, pero sa bandang huli ay natakpan ng mga damo ang mga tumubong binhi. 8 Ang iba namaʼy nahulog sa mabuting lupa. Tumubo ang mga ito at namunga nang napakarami.”[b] Pagkatapos, sinabi ni Jesus, “Kayong mga nakikinig, dapat nʼyo itong pag-isipan!”[c]
Ang Layunin ng mga Talinghaga(B)
9 Tinanong si Jesus ng mga tagasunod niya kung ano ang kahulugan ng talinghaga na iyon. 10 Sumagot si Jesus, “Ipinagkaloob sa inyo na malaman ang mga lihim tungkol sa paghahari ng Dios, ngunit sa ibaʼy ipinapahayag ito sa pamamagitan ng talinghaga, upang ‘tumingin man silaʼy hindi makakita, at makinig man silaʼy hindi makaunawa.’ ”[d]
Ang Kahulugan ng Talinghaga tungkol sa Manghahasik(C)
11 Isinalaysay ni Jesus kung ano ang kahulugan ng talinghaga na iyon: “Ang binhi ay ang salita ng Dios. 12 Ang tabi ng daan, kung saan nahulog ang ilang binhi ay ang mga taong nakinig ng salita ng Dios, ngunit dumating ang diyablo at kinuha iyon sa mga puso nila upang hindi sila sumampalataya at maligtas. 13 Ang mabatong lugar, kung saan nahulog ang ibang binhi ay ang mga taong nakinig ng salita ng Dios at masaya itong tinanggap. Ngunit hindi taimtim sa puso nila ang pagtanggap, kaya hindi tumagal ang kanilang pananampalataya. Pagdating ng mga pagsubok ay agad silang tumatalikod sa kanilang pananampalataya. 14 Ang lupang may matitinik na damo, kung saan nahulog ang iba pang binhi ay ang mga taong nakinig ng salita ng Dios. Ngunit sa katagalan, nadaig sila ng mga alalahanin sa buhay, kayamanan at kalayawan sa mundong ito. Kaya hindi sila lumago at hindi namunga. 15 Ngunit ang mabuting lupang hinasikan ng binhi ay ang mga taong nakikinig sa salita ng Dios, at iniingatan ito sa kanilang malinis at tapat na puso, at pinagsisikapang sundin hanggang sa silaʼy mamunga.”

16 Sinabi pa ni Jesus, “Walang taong nagsisindi ng ilaw at pagkatapos ay tatakpan ng palayok o ilalagay sa ilalim ng higaan. Sa halip, inilalagay ang ilaw sa patungan para magbigay-liwanag sa lahat ng pumapasok sa bahay. 17 Ganoon din naman, walang natatagong hindi mahahayag at walang lihim na hindi malalaman at mabubunyag.[e]
18 “Kaya makinig kayong mabuti sa sinasabi ko, dahil ang taong sumusunod sa narinig niyang katotohanan ay bibigyan pa ng pang-unawa. Ngunit ang taong hindi sumusunod sa katotohanan, kahit ang inaakala niyang nauunawaan niya ay kukunin pa sa kanya.”
Ang Ina at mga Kapatid ni Jesus(E)
19 Ngayon, pinuntahan si Jesus ng kanyang ina at mga kapatid, pero hindi sila makalapit sa kanya dahil sa dami ng tao. 20 Kaya may nagsabi kay Jesus, “Nasa labas po ang inyong ina at mga kapatid, at gusto kayong makita.” 21 Sumagot si Jesus, “Ang mga nakikinig at sumusunod sa salita ng Dios ang siya kong ina at mga kapatid.”
Pinatigil ni Jesus ang Malakas na Hangin at Alon(F)
22 Isang araw, sumakay ng bangka si Jesus kasama ang mga tagasunod niya. Sinabi niya sa kanila, “Tumawid tayo sa kabila ng lawa.” At ganoon nga ang ginawa nila. 23 Nang naglalayag na sila, nakatulog si Jesus. Maya-mayaʼy lumakas ang hangin at pinasok ng maraming tubig ang bangka nila, kaya nalagay sila sa panganib. 24 Nilapitan si Jesus ng mga tagasunod niya at ginising, “Guro![f] Guro! Lulubog na tayo!” Bumangon si Jesus at pinatigil ang malakas na hangin at ang malalaking alon. Tumigil ang mga ito at biglang kumalma ang panahon. 25 Pagkatapos, tinanong ni Jesus ang mga tagasunod niya, “Nasaan ang pananampalataya ninyo?” Namangha sila at natakot, at nag-usap-usap, “Sino kaya ito? Kahit ang hangin at ang alon ay inuutusan niya, at sinusunod siya!”
Pinagaling ni Jesus ang Taong Sinaniban ng Masamang Espiritu(G)
26 Nagpatuloy sila sa paglalayag hanggang sa makarating sila sa lupain ng mga Geraseno[g] na katapat ng Galilea. 27 Pagkababa ni Jesus sa bangka, sinalubong siya ng isang lalaking taga-roon na sinasaniban ng masasamang espiritu. Matagal na itong walang suot na damit at ayaw tumira sa bahay kundi sa mga kwebang libingan. 28 Nang makita niya si Jesus, sumigaw siya at lumuhod sa harapan ni Jesus. At sinabi niya nang malakas, “Ano ang pakialam mo sa akin, Jesus na Anak ng Kataas-taasang Dios? Nakikiusap ako sa iyo, huwag mo akong pahirapan!” 29 Sinabi niya ito dahil inutusan ni Jesus na lumabas ang masamang espiritu sa kanya. Matagal na siyang sinasaniban nito. At kahit tinatalian siya ng kadena sa kamay at paa at binabantayan, nilalagot niya ang kadena, at pinapapunta siya ng demonyo sa ilang. 30 Tinanong siya ni Jesus, “Ano ang pangalan mo?” Sagot niya, “Kawan,” dahil maraming masamang espiritu ang pumasok sa kanya. 31 Nagmakaawa ang masasamang espiritu kay Jesus na huwag silang papuntahin sa kailaliman at parusahan doon. 32 Sa di-kalayuan ay may malaking kawan ng mga baboy na nanginginain sa gilid ng burol. Nagmakaawa ang masasamang espiritu kay Jesus na payagan silang pumasok sa mga baboy, at pinayagan naman sila ni Jesus. 33 Kaya lumabas ang masasamang espiritu sa lalaki at pumasok sa mga baboy. Nagtakbuhan ang mga baboy pababa ng burol, nagtuloy-tuloy sa lawa at nalunod.
34 Nang makita iyon ng mga tagapag-alaga ng mga baboy, tumakbo sila patungo sa bayan at sa mga karatig nayon at ipinamalita ang nangyari. 35 Kaya pumunta roon ang mga tao para tingnan ang nangyari. Pagdating nila kay Jesus, nakita nila ang taong sinaniban dati ng masasamang espiritu na nakaupo sa paanan ni Jesus, nakadamit at matino na ang pag-iisip. At natakot ang mga tao. 36 Ikinuwento sa kanila ng mga nakakita kung paano gumaling ang lalaking sinaniban ng masasamang espiritu. 37 Nakiusap ang lahat ng Geraseno[h] kay Jesus na umalis sa kanilang bayan dahil takot na takot sila. Kaya muling sumakay si Jesus sa bangka upang bumalik sa pinanggalingan niya. 38 Nakiusap sa kanya ang lalaking gumaling na isama siya. Pero hindi pumayag si Jesus. Sinabi niya, 39 “Umuwi ka na sa inyo at sabihin mo sa kanila ang ginawa sa iyo ng Dios.” Umuwi nga ang lalaki at ipinamalita sa buong bayan ang ginawa sa kanya ni Jesus.
Ang Anak ni Jairus at ang Babaeng Dinudugo(H)
40 Pagdating ni Jesus sa kabila ng lawa, masaya siyang tinanggap ng mga tao dahil hinihintay siya ng lahat. 41 Dumating naman ang isang lalaking namumuno sa sambahan ng mga Judio, na ang pangalan ay Jairus. Lumuhod siya sa harap ni Jesus at nakiusap na kung maaari ay pumunta siya sa bahay niya, 42 dahil naghihingalo ang kaisa-isa niyang anak na babae na 12 taong gulang.
Habang papunta si Jesus sa bahay ni Jairus, nagsisiksikan sa kanya ang mga tao. 43 May isang babae roon na 12 taon nang dinudugo at hindi mapagaling ng kahit sino. [Naubos na lahat ang mga ari-arian niya sa pagpapagamot.] 44 Nang makalapit siya sa likuran ni Jesus, hinipo niya ang laylayan[i] ng damit ni Jesus, at biglang tumigil ang kanyang pagdurugo. 45 Nagtanong si Jesus, “Sino ang humipo sa akin?” Nang walang umamin, sinabi ni Pedro, “Guro, alam nʼyo naman po na napapaligiran kayo ng maraming taong nagsisiksikan papalapit sa inyo.” 46 Pero sinabi ni Jesus, “May humipo sa akin, dahil naramdaman kong may kapangyarihang lumabas sa akin.” 47 Nang malaman ng babae na hindi pala lihim kay Jesus ang ginawa niya, lumapit siyang nanginginig sa takot at lumuhod sa harap ni Jesus. Pagkatapos, sinabi niya sa harapan ng lahat kung bakit niya hinipo si Jesus, at kung paanong gumaling siya kaagad. 48 Sinabi sa kanya ni Jesus, “Anak, pinagaling[j] ka ng iyong pananampalataya. Umuwi kang mapayapa.”
49 Habang kausap pa ni Jesus ang babae, dumating ang isang lalaki galing sa bahay ni Jairus. Sinabi niya kay Jairus, “Patay na po ang anak ninyo. Huwag nʼyo nang abalahin ang guro.” 50 Nang marinig iyon ni Jesus, sinabi niya kay Jairus, “Huwag kang matakot. Manampalataya ka lang at mabubuhay siyang muli.” 51 Pagdating nila sa bahay, wala siyang pinayagang sumama sa loob, maliban kina Pedro, Santiago at Juan, at ang mga magulang ng bata. 52 Nag-iiyakan ang mga taong naroroon, kaya sinabi ni Jesus sa kanila, “Huwag kayong umiyak. Hindi patay ang bata kundi natutulog lang.” 53 Pinagtawanan nila si Jesus dahil alam nilang patay na ang bata. 54 Pero hinawakan ni Jesus ang kamay ng bata at sinabi sa kanya, “Nene, bumangon ka.” 55 At noon din ay bumalik ang kanyang espiritu at bumangon siya agad. At iniutos ni Jesus na pakainin ang bata. 56 Labis na namangha ang mga magulang ng bata. Pero pinagbilinan sila ni Jesus na huwag sabihin kaninuman ang nangyari.

A Demon-Possessed Man Healed(AA)
26 (AB)Then they sailed to the country of the [k]Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee. 27 And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons [l]for a long time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he (AC)cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, (AD)“What have I to do with (AE)You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!” 29 For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.
30 Jesus asked him, saying, “What is your name?”
And he said, “Legion,” because many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged Him that He would not command them to go out (AF)into the abyss.
32 Now a herd of many (AG)swine was feeding there on the mountain. So they begged Him that He would permit them to enter them. And He permitted them. 33 Then the demons went out of the man and entered the swine, and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the lake and drowned.
34 When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, (AH)sitting at the (AI)feet of Jesus, clothed and in his (AJ)right mind. 38 Now (AO)the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed
40 So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. 41 (AP)And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she (AQ)was dying.
But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. 43 (AR)Now a woman, having a (AS)flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, 44 came from behind and (AT)touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
45 And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter [o]and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, [p]and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
46 But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived (AU)power going out from Me.” 47 Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.
48 And He said to her, “Daughter, [q]be of good cheer; (AV)your faith has made you well. (AW)Go in peace.”
49 (AX)While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the [r]Teacher.”
50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; (AY)only believe, and she will be made well.” 51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go [s]in except [t]Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, (AZ)“Do not weep; she is not dead, (BA)but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But He [u]put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, (BB)arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

Women Accompanying Jesus
8 Soon afterward he went on (A)through cities and villages, proclaiming and (B)bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, 2 and also (C)some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: (D)Mary, called Magdalene, (E)from whom seven demons had gone out, 3 and (F)Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them[a] out of their means.
The Parable of the Sower
4 (G)And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, he said in a parable, 5 (H)“A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, (I)it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7 And some fell among (J)thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. 8 And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded (K)a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, (L)“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
The Purpose of the Parables
9 And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, 10 he said, (M)“To you it has been given to know (N)the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so (O)that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ 11 (P)Now the parable is this: The seed is (Q)the word of God. 12 The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not (R)believe and be saved. 13 And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it (S)with joy. But these have no root; they (T)believe for a while, and in time of testing (U)fall away. 14 And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but (V)as they go on their way they are choked by the (W)cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. 15 As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and (X)bear fruit (Y)with patience.
A Lamp Under a Jar
16 (Z)(AA)“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17 (AB)For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. 18 (AC)Take care then how you hear, (AD)for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.”
Jesus' Mother and Brothers
19 (AE)Then his mother and (AF)his brothers[b] came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. 20 And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.” 21 But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those (AG)who hear the word of God and do it.”
Jesus Calms a Storm
22 (AH)One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of (AI)the lake.” So they set out, 23 and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on (AJ)the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. 24 And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and (AK)rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, (AL)and there was a calm. 25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they (AM)were afraid, and they (AN)marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that (AO)he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”
Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon
26 (AP)Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes,[c] which is opposite Galilee. 27 When Jesus[d] had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house (AQ)but among the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he (AR)cried out and fell down before him and said (AS)with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, (AT)Son of (AU)the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.” 29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon (AV)into the desert.) 30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, (AW)“Legion,” for many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged him not to command them to depart into (AX)the abyss. 32 Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. 33 Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into (AY)the lake and drowned.
34 When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting (AZ)at the feet of Jesus, (BA)clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. 36 And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed[e] man had been healed. 37 Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes (BB)asked him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return to your home, and (BC)declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.
Jesus Heals a Woman and Jairus's Daughter
40 Now when Jesus returned, the crowd (BD)welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him. 41 (BE)And there came a man named Jairus, who was (BF)a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus' feet, he implored him to come to his house, 42 for he had (BG)an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying.
As Jesus went, the people (BH)pressed around him. 43 And there was a woman (BI)who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her (BJ)living on physicians,[f] she could not be healed by anyone. 44 She came up behind him and touched (BK)the fringe of his garment, and (BL)immediately her discharge of blood ceased. 45 And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter[g] said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that (BM)power has gone out from me.” 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. 48 And he said to her, “Daughter, (BN)your faith has made you well; (BO)go in peace.”
49 While he was still speaking, someone from (BP)the ruler's house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; (BQ)do not trouble (BR)the Teacher any more.” 50 But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” 51 And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except (BS)Peter and (BT)John and James, and the father and mother of the child. 52 And all were weeping and (BU)mourning for her, but he (BV)said, “Do not weep, for (BW)she is not dead but (BX)sleeping.” 53 And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But (BY)taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, (BZ)arise.” 55 And (CA)her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. 56 And her parents were amazed, but (CB)he charged them to tell no one what had happened.
