As mulheres que serviam a Jesus com os seus bens
8 E aconteceu, depois disso, que andava de cidade em cidade e de aldeia em aldeia, pregando e anunciando o evangelho do Reino de Deus; e os doze iam com ele, 2 e também algumas mulheres que haviam sido curadas de espíritos malignos e de enfermidades: Maria, chamada Madalena, da qual saíram sete demônios; 3 e Joana, mulher de Cuza, procurador de Herodes, e Suzana, e muitas outras que o serviam com suas fazendas.
A parábola do semeador(A)
4 E, ajuntando-se uma grande multidão, e vindo ter com ele gente de todas as cidades, disse por parábolas: 5 Um semeador saiu a semear a sua semente, e, quando semeava, caiu alguma junto do caminho e foi pisada, e as aves do céu a comeram. 6 E outra caiu sobre pedra e, nascida, secou-se, pois que não tinha umidade. 7 E outra caiu entre espinhos, e, crescendo com ela os espinhos, a sufocaram; 8 E outra caiu em boa terra e, nascida, produziu fruto, cento por um. Dizendo ele estas coisas, clamava: Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, que ouça.
9 E os seus discípulos o interrogaram, dizendo: Que parábola é esta? 10 E ele disse: A vós vos é dado conhecer os mistérios do Reino de Deus, mas aos outros, por parábolas, para que, vendo, não vejam e, ouvindo, não entendam. 11 Esta é, pois, a parábola: a semente é a palavra de Deus; 12 e os que estão junto do caminho, estes são os que ouvem; depois, vem o diabo e tira-lhes do coração a palavra, para que se não salvem, crendo; 13 e os que estão sobre pedra, estes são os que, ouvindo a palavra, a recebem com alegria, mas, como não têm raiz, apenas creem por algum tempo e, no tempo da tentação, se desviam; 14 e a que caiu entre espinhos, esses são os que ouviram, e, indo por diante, são sufocados com os cuidados, e riquezas, e deleites da vida, e não dão fruto com perfeição; 15 e a que caiu em boa terra, esses são os que, ouvindo a palavra, a conservam num coração honesto e bom e dão fruto com perseverança.
A parábola da candeia(B)
16 E ninguém, acendendo uma candeia, a cobre com algum vaso ou a põe debaixo da cama; mas põe-na no velador, para que os que entram vejam a luz. 17 Porque não há coisa oculta que não haja de manifestar-se, nem escondida que não haja de saber-se e vir à luz. 18 Vede, pois, como ouvis, porque a qualquer que tiver lhe será dado, e a qualquer que não tiver até o que parece ter lhe será tirado.
A família de Jesus(C)
19 E foram ter com ele sua mãe e seus irmãos e não podiam aproximar-se dele, por causa da multidão. 20 E foi-lhe dito: Estão lá fora tua mãe e teus irmãos, que querem ver-te. 21 Mas, respondendo ele, disse-lhes: Minha mãe e meus irmãos são aqueles que ouvem a palavra de Deus e a executam.
Jesus apazigua a tempestade(D)
22 E aconteceu que, num daqueles dias, entrou num barco com seus discípulos e disse-lhes: Passemos para a outra banda do lago. E partiram. 23 E, navegando eles, adormeceu; e sobreveio uma tempestade de vento no lago, e o barco enchia-se de água, estando eles em perigo. 24 E, chegando-se a ele, o despertaram, dizendo: Mestre, Mestre, estamos perecendo. E ele, levantando-se, repreendeu o vento e a fúria da água; e cessaram, e fez-se bonança. 25 E disse-lhes: Onde está a vossa fé? E eles, temendo, maravilharam-se, dizendo uns aos outros: Quem é este, que até aos ventos e à água manda, e lhe obedecem?
O endemoninhado gadareno(E)
26 E navegaram para a terra dos gadarenos, que está defronte da Galileia. 27 E, quando desceu para terra, saiu-lhe ao encontro, vindo da cidade, um homem que, desde muito tempo, estava possesso de demônios e não andava vestido nem habitava em qualquer casa, mas nos sepulcros. 28 E, quando viu a Jesus, prostrou-se diante dele, exclamando e dizendo com alta voz: Que tenho eu contigo Jesus, Filho do Deus Altíssimo? Peço-te que não me atormentes. 29 Porque tinha ordenado ao espírito imundo que saísse daquele homem; pois já havia muito tempo que o arrebatava. E guardavam-no preso com grilhões e cadeias; mas, quebrando as prisões, era impelido pelo demônio para os desertos. 30 E perguntou-lhe Jesus, dizendo: Qual é o teu nome? E ele disse: Legião; porque tinham entrado nele muitos demônios. 31 E rogavam-lhe que os não mandasse para o abismo. 32 E andava pastando ali no monte uma manada de muitos porcos; e rogaram-lhe que lhes concedesse entrar neles; e concedeu-lho. 33 E, tendo saído os demônios do homem, entraram nos porcos, e a manada precipitou-se de um despenhadeiro no lago e afogou-se. 34 E aqueles que os guardavam, vendo o que acontecera, fugiram e foram anunciá-lo na cidade e nos campos.
35 E saíram a ver o que tinha acontecido e vieram ter com Jesus. Acharam, então, o homem de quem haviam saído os demônios, vestido e em seu juízo, assentado aos pés de Jesus; e temeram. 36 E os que tinham visto contaram-lhes também como fora salvo aquele endemoninhado. 37 E toda a multidão da terra dos gadarenos ao redor lhe rogou que se retirasse deles, porque estavam possuídos de grande temor. E, entrando ele no barco, voltou. 38 E aquele homem de quem haviam saído os demônios rogou-lhe que o deixasse estar com ele; mas Jesus o despediu, dizendo: 39 Torna para tua casa e conta quão grandes coisas te fez Deus. E ele foi apregoando por toda a cidade quão grandes coisas Jesus lhe tinha feito.
A filha de Jairo. A mulher que tinha um fluxo de sangue(F)
40 E aconteceu que, quando voltou Jesus, a multidão o recebeu, porque todos o estavam esperando. 41 E eis que chegou um varão de nome Jairo, que era príncipe da sinagoga; e, prostrando-se aos pés de Jesus, rogava-lhe que entrasse em sua casa; 42 porque tinha uma filha única, quase de doze anos, que estava à morte.
E, indo ele, apertava-o a multidão. 43 E uma mulher, que tinha um fluxo de sangue, havia doze anos, e gastara com os médicos todos os seus haveres, e por nenhum pudera ser curada, 44 chegando por detrás dele, tocou na orla da sua veste, e logo estancou o fluxo do seu sangue. 45 E disse Jesus: Quem é que me tocou? E, negando todos, disse Pedro e os que estavam com ele: Mestre, a multidão te aperta e te oprime, e dizes: Quem é que me tocou? 46 E disse Jesus: Alguém me tocou, porque bem conheci que de mim saiu virtude. 47 Então, vendo a mulher que não podia ocultar-se, aproximou-se tremendo e, prostrando-se ante ele, declarou-lhe diante de todo o povo a causa por que lhe havia tocado e como logo sarara. 48 E ele lhe disse: Tem bom ânimo, filha, a tua fé te salvou; vai em paz.
49 Estando ele ainda falando, chegou um da casa do príncipe da sinagoga, dizendo: A tua filha já está morta; não incomodes o Mestre. 50 Jesus, porém, ouvindo-o, respondeu-lhe, dizendo: Não temas; crê somente, e será salva. 51 E, entrando em casa, a ninguém deixou entrar, senão a Pedro, e a Tiago, e a João, e ao pai, e a mãe da menina. 52 E todos choravam e a pranteavam; e ele disse: Não choreis; não está morta, mas dorme. 53 E riam-se dele, sabendo que estava morta. 54 Mas ele, pegando-lhe na mão, clamou, dizendo: Levanta-te, menina! 55 E o seu espírito voltou, e ela logo se levantou; e Jesus mandou que lhe dessem de comer. 56 E seus pais ficaram maravilhados, e ele lhes mandou que a ninguém dissessem o que havia sucedido.

8 Därefter vandrade han igenom landet, från stad till stad och från by till by, och predikade och förkunnade evangelium om Guds rike. Och med honom följde de tolv,
2 så ock några kvinnor som hade blivit befriade från onda andar och botade från sjukdomar: Maria, som kallades Magdalena, ur vilken sju onda andar hade blivit utdrivna,
3 och Johanna, hustru till Herodes' fogde Kusas, och Susanna och många andra som tjänade dem med sina ägodelar.
4 Då nu mycket folk kom tillhopa, i det att inbyggarna i de särskilda städerna begåvo sig ut till honom, sade han i en liknelse:
5 »En såningsman gick ut för att så sin säd. Och när han sådde, föll somt vid vägen och blev nedtrampat, och himmelens fåglar åto upp det.
6 Och somt föll på stengrund, och när det hade vuxit upp, torkade det bort, eftersom det icke där hade någon fuktighet.
7 Och somt föll bland törnen, och törnena växte upp tillsammans därmed och förkvävde det.
8 Men somt föll i god jord, och när det hade vuxit upp, bar det hundrafaldig frukt.» Sedan han hade talat detta, sade han med hög röst: »Den som har öron till att höra, han höre.»
9 Då frågade hans lärjungar honom vad denna liknelse betydde.
10 Han sade: »Eder är givet att lära känna Guds rikes hemligheter, men åt de andra meddelas de i liknelser, för att de med seende ögon intet skola se och med hörande öron intet förstå'.
11 Så är nu detta liknelsens mening: Säden är Guds ord.
12 Och att den såddes vid vägen, det är sagt om dem som hava hört ordet, men sedan kommer djävulen och tager bort det ur deras hjärtan, för att de icke skola komma till tro och bliva frälsta.
13 Och att den såddes på stengrunden det är sagt om dem, som när de få höra ordet, taga emot det med glädje, men icke hava någon rot; de tro allenast till en tid, och i frestelsens stund avfalla de.
14 Och att den föll bland törnena, det är sagt om dem, som när de hava hört ordet, gå bort och låta sig förkvävas av rikedomens omsorger och njutandet av livets goda och så icke föra något fram till mognad.
15 Men att den föll i den goda jorden, det är sagt om dem, som när de hava hört ordet, behålla det i rättsinniga och goda hjärtan och bära frukt i ståndaktighet.
16 Ingen tänder ett ljus och gömmer det sedan under ett kärl eller sätter det under en bänk, utan man sätter det på en ljusstake, för att de som komma in skola se skenet.
17 Ty intet är fördolt, som icke skall bliva uppenbart, ej heller är något undangömt, som icke skall bliva känt och komma i dagen.
18 Akten fördenskull på huru I hören. Ty den som har, åt honom skall varda givet; men den som icke har, från honom skall tagas också det han menar sig hava.»
19 Och hans moder och hans bröder kommo och sökte honom, men för folkets skull kunde de icke komma in till honom.
20 Då sade man till honom: »Din moder och dina broder stå härutanför och vilja träffa dig.»
21 Men han svarade och sade till dem: »Min moder och mina bröder äro dessa, som höra Guds ord och göra det.»
22 En dag steg han med sina lärjungar i en båt och sade till dem: »Låt oss fara över sjön till andra sidan.» Och de lade ut.
23 Och medan de seglade fram, somnade han. Men en stormvind for ned över sjön, och deras båt begynte fyllas med vatten, så att de voro i fara.
24 Då gingo de fram och väckte upp honom och sade: »Mästare, Mästare, vi förgås.» När han så hade vaknat, näpste han vinden och vattnets vågor, och de stillades, och det blev lugnt.
25 Därefter sade han till dem: »Var är eder tro?» Men de hade blivit häpna och förundrade sig och sade till varandra: »Vem är då denne? Han befaller ju både vindarna och vattnet, och de lyda honom.»
26 Så foro de över till gerasenernas land, som ligger mitt emot Galileen.
27 Och när han hade stigit i land, kom en man från staden emot honom, en som var besatt av onda andar, och som under ganska lång tid icke hade haft kläder på sig och icke bodde i hus, utan bland gravarna.
28 Då nu denne fick se Jesus, skriade han och föll ned för honom och sade med hög röst: »Vad har du med mig att göra, Jesus, du Guds, den Högstes, son? Jag beder dig, plåga mig icke.»
29 Jesus skulle nämligen just bjuda den orene anden att fara ut ur mannen. Ty i lång tid hade han farit svårt fram med mannen; och väl hade denne varit fängslad med kedjor och fotbojor och hållits i förvar, men han hade slitit sönder bojorna och hade av den onde anden blivit driven ut i öknarna.
30 Jesus frågade honom: »Vad är ditt namn?» Han svarade: »Legion.» Ty det var många onda andar som hade farit in i honom.
31 Och dessa bådo Jesus att han icke skulle befalla dem att fara ned i avgrunden.
32 Nu gick där en ganska stor svinhjord i bet på berget. Och de bådo honom att han ville tillstädja dem att fara in i svinen. Och han tillstadde dem det.
33 Då gåvo sig de onda andarna åstad ut ur mannen och foro in i svinen. Och hjorden störtade sig utför branten ned i sjön och drunknade.
34 Men när herdarna sågo vad som hade skett, flydde de och berättade härom i staden och på landsbygden.
35 Och folket gick ut för att se vad som hade skett. När de då kommo till Jesus, funno de mannen, ur vilken de onda andarna hade blivit utdrivna, sitta invid Jesu fötter, klädd och vid sina sinnen; och de betogos av häpnad.
36 Och de som hade sett händelsen omtalade för dem huru den besatte hade blivit botad.
37 Allt folket ifrån den kringliggande trakten av gerasenernas land bad då Jesus att han skulle gå bort ifrån dem, ty de voro gripna av stor förskräckelse. Så steg han då i en båt för att vända tillbaka.
38 Och mannen, ur vilken de onda andarna hade blivit utdrivna, bad honom att få följa honom. Men Jesus tillsade honom att gå, med de orden:
39 »Vänd tillbaka hem, och förtälj huru stora ting Gud har gjort med dig.» Då gick han bort och förkunnade i hela staden huru stora ting Jesus hade gjort med honom.
40 När Jesus kom tillbaka, mottogs han av folket; ty alla väntade de på honom.
41 Då kom där en man, vid namn Jairus, som var föreståndare för synagogan. Denne föll ned för Jesu fötter och bad honom att han skulle komma till hans hus;
42 ty han hade ett enda barn, en dotter, vid pass tolv år gammal, som låg för döden. Men under det att han var på väg dit, trängde folket hårt på honom.
43 Nu var där en kvinna som hade haft blodgång i tolv år och icke hade kunnat botas av någon.
44 Hon närmade sig honom bakifrån och rörde vid hörntofsen på hans mantel, och strax stannade hennes blodgång
45 Men Jesus frågade: »Vem var det som rörde vid mig?» Då alla nekade till att hava gjort det, sade Petrus: »Mästare, hela folkhopen trycker och tränger dig ju.»
46 Men Jesus sade: »Det var någon som rörde vid mig; ty jag kände att kraft gick ut ifrån mig.»
47 Då nu kvinnan såg att hon icke hade blivit obemärkt, kom hon fram bävande och föll ned för honom och omtalade inför allt folket varför hon hade rört vid honom, och huru hon strax hade blivit frisk.
48 Då sade han till henne: »Min dotter, din tro har hjälpt dig. Gå i frid.»
49 Medan han ännu talade, kom någon från synagogföreståndarens hus och sade: »Din dotter är död; du må icke vidare göra mästaren omak.»
50 Men när Jesus hörde detta, sade han till honom: »Frukta icke; tro allenast, så får hon liv igen.»
51 Och när han hade kommit fram till hans hus, tillstadde han ingen att gå med ditin, utom Petrus och Johannes och Jakob och därtill flickans fader och moder.
52 Och alla gräto och jämrade sig över henne. Men han sade: »Gråten icke; hon är icke död, hon sover.»
53 Då hånlogo de åt honom, ty de visste ju att hon var död.
54 Men han tog henne vid handen och sade med hög röst: »Flicka, stå upp.»
55 Då kom hennes ande igen, och hon stod strax upp. Och han tillsade att man skulle giva henne något att äta.
56 Och hennes föräldrar blevo uppfyllda av häpnad; men han förbjöd dem att för någon omtala vad som hade skett.

The Parable of the Sower(A)
8 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.(B) The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene)(C) from whom seven demons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s(D) household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6 Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”
When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”(E)
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,(F) but to others I speak in parables, so that,
11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.(H) 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.(I) 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches(J) and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
A Lamp on a Stand
16 “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.(K) 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.(L) 18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”(M)
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers(N)
19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers(O) are standing outside, wanting to see you.”
21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”(P)
Jesus Calms the Storm(Q)(R)
22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.
24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master,(S) we’re going to drown!”
He got up and rebuked(T) the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.(U) 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.
In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”
Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man(V)(W)
26 They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,[b] which is across the lake from Galilee. 27 When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me,(X) Jesus, Son of the Most High God?(Y) I beg you, don’t torture me!” 29 For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.
30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him. 31 And they begged Jesus repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss.(Z)
32 A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and he gave them permission. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake(AA) and was drowned.
34 When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, 35 and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet,(AB) dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 36 Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed(AC) man had been cured. 37 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them,(AD) because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.
38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman(AE)
40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader,(AF) came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.
As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding(AG) for twelve years,[c] but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak,(AH) and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master,(AI) the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me;(AJ) I know that power has gone out from me.”(AK)
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.(AL) Go in peace.”(AM)
49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader.(AN) “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”
50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James,(AO) and the child’s father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning(AP) for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”(AQ)
53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”(AR) 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.(AS)
