2 May isang kapitan doon ng hukbong Romano na may aliping malubha ang sakit at naghihingalo. Mahal niya ang aliping ito. 3 Kaya nang mabalitaan ng kapitan ang tungkol kay Jesus, sinugo niya ang ilang mga pinuno ng mga Judio para pakiusapan si Jesus na pumunta sa bahay niya at pagalingin ang kanyang alipin. 4 Pagdating nila kay Jesus, nakiusap silang mabuti sa kanya, “Kung maaari po sanaʼy tulungan nʼyo ang kapitan, dahil mabuti siyang tao.
