Un día estaba Jesús a orillas del lago de Genesaret[a] y la gente lo apretujaba para escuchar el mensaje de Dios. Entonces vio dos barcas que los pescadores habían dejado en la playa mientras lavaban las redes. Subió a una de las barcas, que pertenecía a Simón, y le pidió que la alejara un poco de la playa. Luego se sentó, y enseñaba a la gente desde la barca.

Samantalang(B) sinisiksik si Jesus[a] ng napakaraming tao upang makinig ng salita ng Diyos, siya'y nakatayo sa tabi ng lawa ng Genesaret.

Nakakita siya ng dalawang bangka na nasa tabi ng lawa; wala na roon ang mga mangingisda at naghuhugas na ng kanilang mga lambat.

Lumulan siya sa isa sa mga bangka na pag-aari ni Simon at hiniling sa kanya na ilayo ito nang kaunti sa lupa. Siya'y umupo at mula sa bangka ay nagturo sa mga tao.

Jesus Calls His First Disciples(A)

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a] the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God.(B) He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.(C)

So (B)it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to (C)hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He (D)sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
