21 さて、宮の中でのことです。イエスは、金持ちたちが次々と献金箱に献金を投げ込む様子を見ておられました。 2 そこへ貧しい身なりの末亡人がやって来て、レプタ銅貨（最小単位の銅貨）を二個そっと投げ入れました。 3 それを見たイエスは、「この女は、だれよりも多くささげたのです。 4 ほかの人たちはあり余る中からほんのわずかだけささげたのに、この女は、乏しい中から持っている全部をささげたからです」と言われました。
世の終わり
5 弟子たちの何人かが、宮のすばらしい石細工や壁の装飾に目を奪われ、感心していました。 6 するとイエスは、彼らに言われました。「今は賞賛の的になっているこれらのものが、一つも崩れずにほかの石の上に残らないほど完全に破壊され、瓦礫の山となる日がもうすぐ来ます。」 7 驚いた弟子たちが質問しました。「いつのことですか！ その前に、何か前兆があるのでしょうか。」 8 イエスはお答えになりました。「だれにもだまされないようにしなさい。『私がキリストだ。今こそ時が来た』と言う者が大ぜい現れるからです。そういう人々を信じてはいけません。 9 また、戦争や暴動が始まったということを聞いても、あわてふためかないようにしなさい。戦争は必ず起こりますが、すぐに終わりが来るわけではありません。
10 民族は民族に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がり、 11 すさまじい地震が起こり、多くの国がききんに見舞われ、伝染病が流行し、恐ろしい異変が天に現れます。 12 しかし、これらのことが起こる前に、まず大きな迫害の時代が来ます。あなたがたは、わたしを信じているばかりに、会堂や牢獄、王や総督の前に引き立てて行かれます。 13 その結果、かえってメシヤ（救い主）のことが広く知られ、あがめられるようになるのです。 14 だから、人々の訴えにどう釈明しようかと心配してはいけません。 15 答えることは、わたしが教えてあげます。どんな反対者も反論できないことばと知恵です。 16 最も身近な両親、兄弟、親類、友人までもがあなたがたを裏切るようになるでしょう。中には殺される者もあります。 17 わたしの弟子だというので、みながあなたがたを憎むようになるでしょう。 18 しかし、あなたがたの髪の毛一本さえ失われることはありません。 19 忍耐して忍び通せば、いのちを得るのです。
20 しかし、エルサレムが軍隊に包囲されるのを見たら、滅びの時が来たと思いなさい。 21 ユダヤにいる人たちは山へ逃げなさい。エルサレムにいる人たちは市外へ逃げなさい。地方の人たちは都に逃げ込んではいけません。 22 神のさばきの日だからです。預言者が書いた聖書のことばどおりのことが起こるのです。 23 その日、妊娠している女と乳飲み子をかかえた母親はかわいそうです。この国に大きな苦難がふりかかり、神の怒りが下るからです。 24 人々は敵の手にかかって、むごい殺され方をするでしょう。また、捕虜となって多くの国々に連れ去られたり、追放されたりする人もいます。エルサレムは占領され、神の恵みの時が来て、外国人の勝利の期間が終わるまで、彼らに踏みにじられるのです。
25 それから、天に不思議な現象が起こります。太陽と月と星には不吉な前兆が現れ、地上では荒れ狂う海と高潮のために、諸国民はおじ惑います。 26 人々は、何かとてつもなく恐ろしいことが起こるのではないかという不安にかられ、意気阻喪します。不動と信じられていた天が揺れ動くのですから、むりもありません。 27 その時、地上にいる人々は、メシヤのわたしが雲に乗り、力と輝かしい栄光を帯びてやって来るのを見るでしょう。 28 いま言ったようなことが起こり始めたら、しっかりと立ち、天を見上げなさい。救いの時が近づいているのです。」
29 このあとイエスは、人々にたとえで話されました。
「いちじくの木やほかの木を注意して見ていなさい。 30 葉が出てくれば、ああ、もうすぐ夏だなと思うでしょう。 31 同じように、こうした現象が起こるのを見たら、神の国はもうそこまで来ていると考えなさい。 32 はっきり言いましょう。これらのことが全部起こってから、世の終わりが来るのです。 33 天と地とは消えてなくなります。けれどもわたしのことばは、永遠に真実なものとして残るのです。
34-35 気をつけなさい。わたしは不意に来ます。その時になって、あわてふためかないようにしなさい。遊び騒いだり、酒におぼれたり、この世の心配事のために駆けずり回ったりしている姿を見られないようにしなさい。 36 少しも油断してはいけません。こんな恐ろしい目に会わずにわたしの前に出られるように、熱心に祈っていなさい。」
37-38 イエスは毎日、宮で教えておられました。人々は朝早くから、話を聞こうと集まって来ました。そして夜になると、イエスはオリーブ山に戻って行かれました。

21 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
