15 ¶ Y se llegaban a él todos los publicanos y pecadores a oírle.
2 Y murmuraban los fariseos y los escribas, diciendo: Este a los pecadores recibe, y con ellos come.
3 Y él les refirió esta parábola, diciendo:
4 ¿Qué hombre de vosotros, teniendo cien ovejas, si perdiere una de ellas, no deja las noventa y nueve en el desierto, y va a la que se perdió, hasta que la halle?
5 Y hallada, la pone sobre sus hombros gozoso;
6 y viniendo a casa, junta a los amigos y a los vecinos, diciéndoles: Regocijad conmigo, porque he hallado mi oveja que se había perdido.
7 Os digo, que así habrá más gozo en el cielo de un pecador que se enmienda, que de noventa y nueve justos, que no tienen necesidad de enmendarse.
8 ¿O qué mujer que tiene diez dracmas, si perdiere una dracma, no enciende la lámpara, y barre la casa, y busca con diligencia hasta hallarla?
9 Y cuando la hubiere hallado, junta las amigas y las vecinas, diciendo: Regocijad conmigo, porque he hallado la dracma que había perdido.
10 Así os digo que hay gozo delante de los ángeles de Dios por un pecador que se enmienda.
11 ¶ Y dijo: Un hombre tenía dos hijos;
12 y el menor de ellos dijo a su padre: Padre, dame la parte de la hacienda que me pertenece; y les repartió su sustento.
13 Y no muchos días después, juntándolo todo el hijo menor, partió lejos a una provincia apartada; y allí desperdició su hacienda viviendo perdidamente.
14 Y cuando todo lo hubo malgastado, vino una gran hambre en aquella provincia, y le comenzó a faltar.
15 Y fue y se llegó a uno de los ciudadanos de aquella tierra, el cual le envió a su hacienda para que apacentara los puercos.
16 Y deseaba llenar su vientre de las algarrobas que comían los puercos; mas nadie se las daba.
17 Y volviendo en sí, dijo: ¡Cuántos jornaleros en casa de mi padre tienen abundancia de pan, y yo aquí perezco de hambre!
18 Me levantaré, e iré a mi padre, y le diré: Padre, he pecado contra el cielo y delante de ti;
19 ya no soy digno de ser llamado tu hijo; hazme como a uno de tus jornaleros.
20 Y levantándose, vino a su padre. Y como aún estuviera lejos, lo vio su padre, y fue movido a misericordia, y corrió, y se echó sobre su cuello, y le besó.
21 Y el hijo le dijo: Padre, he pecado contra el cielo, y delante de ti, y ya no soy digno de ser llamado tu hijo.
22 Mas el padre dijo a sus esclavos: Sacad el principal vestido, y vestidle; y poned un anillo en su mano, y zapatos en sus pies.
23 Y traed el becerro grueso, y matadlo, y comamos, y hagamos banquete;
24 porque éste mi hijo muerto era, y ha revivido; se había perdido, y es hallado. Y comenzaron a hacer banquete.
25 Y su hijo mayor estaba en el campo; el cual cuando vino, y llegó cerca de casa, oyó la sinfonía y las danzas;
26 y llamando a uno de los criados, le preguntó qué era aquello.
27 Y él le dijo: Tu hermano ha venido; y tu padre ha matado el becerro grueso, por haberle recibido salvo.
28 Entonces se enojó, y no quería entrar. Salió por tanto su padre, y le rogaba que entrara.
29 Mas él respondiendo, dijo al padre: He aquí tantos años te sirvo, no habiendo traspasado jamás tu mandamiento, y nunca me has dado un cabrito para hacer banquete con mis amigos;
30 Mas cuando vino éste tu hijo, que ha consumido tu sustento con rameras, has matado para él el becerro grueso.
31 El entonces le dijo: Hijo, tú siempre estás conmigo, y todas mis cosas son tuyas.
32 mas era necesario hacer banquete y regocijarnos, porque éste tu hermano estaba muerto, y ha revivido; se había perdido, y es hallado.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep(A)
15 Now the tax collectors(B) and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”(C)
3 Then Jesus told them this parable:(D) 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?(E) 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’(F) 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.(G)

8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins[a] and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’(H) 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”(I)
The Parable of the Lost Son
11 Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons.(J) 12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’(K) So he divided his property(L) between them.
13 “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth(M) in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.(N) 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned(O) against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.(P)
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.(Q) I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe(R) and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger(S) and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again;(T) he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.(U)
25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
28 “The older brother became angry(V) and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property(W) with prostitutes(X) comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”(Y)

4 „Care om dintre voi, dacă are o sută de oi şi pierde una din ele, nu le lasă pe câmp pe celelalte nouăzeci şi nouă şi nu se duce după cea pierdută, până când o găseşte?! 5 Iar când o găseşte, o pune bucuros pe umeri, 6 vine acasă şi-şi cheamă prietenii şi vecinii, zicându-le: «Bucuraţi-vă împreună cu mine, căci mi-am găsit oaia care era pierdută!» 7 Tot aşa, vă spun că va fi mai mare bucurie în cer pentru un singur păcătos care se pocăieşte, decât pentru nouăzeci şi nouă de oameni drepţi care n-au nevoie de pocăinţă!

8 Sau care femeie, dacă are zece drahme[c] şi pierde una din ele, nu aprinde o lampă, nu mătură casa şi nu caută cu atenţie până când o găseşte?! 9 Iar când o găseşte, îşi cheamă prietenele şi vecinele şi le spune: «Bucuraţi-vă împreună cu mine, căci am găsit drahma pe care o pierdusem!» 10 Tot aşa, vă spun că este bucurie înaintea îngerilor lui Dumnezeu pentru un singur păcătos care se pocăieşte!“

11 El a mai zis:
„Un om avea doi fii. 12 Cel mai tânăr dintre ei i-a zis tatălui: «Tată, dă-mi partea din moşie care mi se cuvine!» Şi tatăl a împărţit între ei averea.[d] 13 Nu după multe zile, fiul cel tânăr a strâns totul şi a plecat într-o ţară îndepărtată, iar acolo şi-a risipit averea ducând o viaţă destrăbălată. 14 După ce a cheltuit totul, a venit o foamete mare în ţara aceea şi el a început să ducă lipsă. 15 S-a dus şi s-a alipit de unul din cetăţenii acelei ţări, iar acesta l-a trimis pe câmpurile lui să-i pască porcii.[e] 16 Ar fi dorit el să se sature din roşcovele pe care le mâncau porcii, dar nu i le dădea nimeni! 17 Şi-a venit în fire şi şi-a zis: «Câţi angajaţi ai tatălui meu au belşug de pâine, iar eu mor de foame aici! 18 Mă voi scula, mă voi duce la tatăl meu şi-i voi spune: ‘Tată, am păcătuit împotriva Cerului[f] şi înaintea ta 19 şi nu mai sunt vrednic să fiu numit fiul tău. Fă-mă ca pe unul din angajaţii tăi!’» 20 Şi s-a sculat şi s-a dus la tatăl lui. În timp ce el era încă departe, tatăl său l-a văzut şi i s-a făcut milă de el; a alergat la el, l-a îmbrăţişat şi l-a sărutat mult. 21 Fiul i-a zis: «Tată, am păcătuit împotriva Cerului şi înaintea ta şi nu mai sunt vrednic să fiu numit fiul tău!» 22 Dar tatăl le-a zis sclavilor săi: «Aduceţi repede cea mai bună robă şi îmbrăcaţi-l cu ea! Puneţi-i un inel în deget şi sandale în picioare! 23 Aduceţi apoi viţelul cel îngrăşat şi tăiaţi-l![g] Să mâncăm şi să ne veselim, 24 pentru că acest fiu al meu era mort şi trăieşte iarăşi, era pierdut şi a fost găsit!» Şi au început să se veselească.
25 Fiul lui cel mai în vârstă era la câmp. Când a venit şi s-a apropiat de casă, a auzit muzică şi dansuri 26 şi l-a chemat pe unul din slujitori ca să-l întrebe ce se întâmplă. 27 Acesta i-a răspuns: «A venit fratele tău, iar tatăl tău a tăiat viţelul cel îngrăşat, pentru că l-a primit înapoi sănătos.» 28 Atunci el s-a înfuriat şi n-a vrut să intre. Tatăl lui a ieşit afară şi a stăruit de el să intre. 29 Însă el i-a răspuns tatălui său:
– Iată, eu îţi slujesc de atâţia ani şi niciodată nu ţi-am încălcat porunca! Şi mie nu mi-ai dat niciodată nici măcar un ied ca să mă veselesc cu prietenii mei! 30 Dar când a venit acest fiu al tău, care ţi-a mâncat averea cu prostituatele, lui i-ai tăiat viţelul cel îngrăşat!
31 Tatăl i-a zis:
– Fiule, tu întotdeauna eşti cu mine şi tot ce este al meu este şi al tău. 32 Dar trebuia să ne veselim şi să ne bucurăm, pentru că acest frate al tău era mort şi acum trăieşte, era pierdut şi a fost găsit!“

15 Then (B)all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man [a]receives sinners (C)and eats with them.” 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, (J)I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But (K)when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven (L)and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, [f]‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 (M)for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
25 “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’
28 “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. 29 So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 30 But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’
31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, (N)for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’ ”
