12 ¶ En esto, juntándose muchos acompañantes, tanto que unos a otros se pisaban, comenzó a decir a sus discípulos: Primeramente guardaos de la levadura de los fariseos, que es la hipocresía.
2 Porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser descubierto; ni oculto, que no haya de ser sabido.
3 Por tanto, las cosas que dijisteis en tinieblas, a la luz serán oídas; y lo que hablasteis al oído en los aposentos, será pregonado en los tejados.
4 Mas os digo, amigos míos: No temáis de los que matan el cuerpo, y después no tienen más que hacer.
5 Mas os enseñaré a quién temáis: temed a aquel que después de ser matado, tiene potestad de echar en el infierno; así os digo: a éste temed.
6 ¿No se venden cinco pajarillos por dos blancas? Pues ni uno de ellos está olvidado de Dios.
7 Y aun los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están todos contados. No temáis pues; de más estima sois que muchos pajarillos.
8 Y os digo que todo aquel que me confesare delante de los hombres, también el Hijo del hombre le confesará delante de los ángeles de Dios;
9 mas el que me negare delante de los hombres, será negado delante de los ángeles de Dios.
10 Y todo aquel que dice palabra contra el Hijo del Hombre, hay perdón para él; mas al que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado.
11 Y cuando os trajeren a las sinagogas, y a los magistrados y potestades, no estéis solícitos cómo o qué hayáis de responder, o qué habréis de decir;
12 porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en la misma hora lo que será necesario decir.
13 ¶ Y le dijo uno de la multitud: Maestro, di a mi hermano que parta conmigo la herencia.
14 Mas él le dijo: Hombre, ¿quién me puso por juez o partidor sobre vosotros?
15 Y les dijo: Mirad, y guardaos de toda avaricia; porque la vida del hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes que posee.
16 Y les refirió una parábola, diciendo: La heredad de un hombre rico había llevado muchos frutos;
17 y él pensaba dentro de sí, diciendo: ¿qué haré, porque no tengo dónde juntar mis frutos?
18 Y dijo: Esto haré: derribaré mis alfolíes, y los edificaré mayores, y allí juntaré todos mis frutos y mis bienes;
19 y diré a mi alma: Alma, muchos bienes tienes almacenados para muchos años; repósate, come, bebe, regocíjate.
20 Y le dijo Dios: Necio, esta noche vuelven a pedir tu alma; y lo que has prevenido, ¿de quién será?
21 Así es el que hace para sí tesoro, y no es rico en Dios.
22 ¶ Y dijo a sus discípulos: Por tanto os digo: No estéis afanosos de vuestra vida, qué comeréis; ni del cuerpo, qué vestiréis.
23 La vida es más que la comida, y el cuerpo que el vestido.
24 Considerad los cuervos, que ni siembran, ni siegan; que ni tienen cillero, ni alfolí; y Dios los alimenta. ¿Cuánto de más estima sois vosotros que las aves?
25 ¿Y quién de vosotros podrá con su afán añadir a su estatura un codo?
26 Pues si no podéis aun lo que es menos, ¿para qué estaréis afanosos de lo demás?
27 Considerad los lirios, cómo crecen; no labran, ni hilan; y os digo, que ni Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.
28 Y si así viste Dios a la hierba, que hoy está en el campo, y mañana es echada en el horno; ¿cuánto más a vosotros, los de poca fe?
29 Vosotros, pues, no procuréis qué tengáis de comer, o qué tengáis de beber; ni andéis elevados.
30 Porque todas estas cosas buscan los gentiles del mundo; que vuestro Padre sabe que necesitáis estas cosas.
31 Mas procurad el Reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
32 No temáis, manada pequeña; porque al Padre ha placido daros el Reino.
33 Vended lo que poseéis, y dad limosna {lit. hacer actos de misericordia}; haceos bolsas que no se envejecen, tesoro en los cielos que nunca falta; donde ladrón no llega, ni polilla corrompe.
34 Porque donde está vuestro tesoro, allí también estará vuestro corazón.
35 Estén ceñidos vuestros lomos, y vuestras lámparas encendidas;
36 y vosotros semejantes a hombres que esperan cuando su señor ha de volver de las bodas; para que cuando viniere, y tocare, luego le abran.
37 Bienaventurados aquellos esclavos, a los cuales cuando el Señor viniere, hallare velando; de cierto os digo, que él se ceñirá, y hará que se sienten a la mesa, y pasando les servirá.
38 Y aunque venga a la segunda vigilia, y aunque venga a la tercera vigilia, y los hallare así, bienaventurados son los tales esclavos.
39 Pero esto sabed, que si supiera el padre de familia a qué hora había de venir el ladrón, velaría ciertamente, y no dejaría minar su casa.
40 Vosotros pues también, estad apercibidos; porque a la hora que no pensáis, el Hijo del hombre vendrá.
41 ¶ Entonces Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿dices esta parábola a nosotros, o también a todos?
42 Y dijo el Señor: ¿Quién es el mayordomo fiel y prudente, al cual el señor pondrá sobre su familia, para que a tiempo les dé su ración?
43 Bienaventurado aquel esclavo, al cual, cuando el señor viniere, hallare haciendo así.
44 En verdad os digo, que él le pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.
45 Mas si el tal esclavo dijere en su corazón: Mi señor tarda en venir; y comenzare a herir a los esclavos y a las criadas, y a comer y a beber y a embriagarse;
46 vendrá el señor de aquel esclavo el día que él no espera, y a la hora que él no sabe, y le apartará, y pondrá su parte con los infieles.
47 Porque el esclavo que entendió la voluntad de su señor, y no se apercibió, ni hizo conforme a su voluntad, será azotado mucho.
48 Mas el que no entendió, e hizo cosas dignas de azotes, será azotado poco; porque a cualquiera que fue dado mucho, mucho será vuelto a demandar de él; y al que encomendaron mucho, más le será pedido.
49 Fuego vine a meter en la tierra; ¿y qué quiero, sino que se encienda?
50 Pero de un bautismo me es necesario ser bautizado; y ¡cómo me angustio hasta que sea cumplido!
51 ¿Pensáis que he venido a la tierra a dar paz? No, os digo; sino disensión.
52 Porque estarán de aquí adelante cinco en una casa divididos; tres contra dos, y dos contra tres.
53 El padre estará dividido contra el hijo, y el hijo contra el padre; la madre contra la hija, y la hija contra la madre; la suegra contra su nuera, y la nuera contra su suegra.
54 ¶ Y decía también a la multitud: Cuando veis la nube que sale del poniente, luego decís: Agua viene; y es así.
55 Y cuando sopla el austro, decís: Habrá calor; y lo hay.
56 ¡Hipócritas! Sabéis discernir la faz del cielo y de la tierra; ¿y cómo no discernís este tiempo?
57 ¿Y por qué aun de vosotros mismos no juzgáis lo que es justo?
58 Pues cuando vas al magistrado con tu adversario, procura en el camino librarte de él; para que no te arrastre al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y el alguacil te meta en la cárcel.
59 Te digo que no saldrás de allá, hasta que hayas pagado hasta el último centavo.

Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees
12 In the meantime, (A)when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, (B)“Beware of (C)the leaven of the Pharisees, (D)which is hypocrisy. 2 (E)Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in (F)private rooms shall be proclaimed on (G)the housetops.
Have No Fear
4 “I tell you, my friends, (H)do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him (I)who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell.[a] Yes, I tell you, fear him! 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?[b] And (J)not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, (K)even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; (L)you are of more value than many sparrows.
Acknowledge Christ Before Men
8 “And I tell you, (M)everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge (N)before the angels of God, 9 but (O)the one who denies me before men (P)will be denied (Q)before the angels of God. 10 And (R)everyone who speaks a word (S)against the Son of Man (T)will be forgiven, but the one who (U)blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. 11 (V)And when they (W)bring you before the synagogues and (X)the rulers and (Y)the authorities, (Z)do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, 12 (AA)for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
The Parable of the Rich Fool
13 (AB)Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But he said to him, (AC)“Man, (AD)who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” 15 And he said to them, (AE)“Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” 16 And he told them a parable, saying, (AF)“The land of a rich man produced plentifully, 17 and he thought to himself, (AG)‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ 18 And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my (AH)barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up (AI)for many years; relax, (AJ)eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, (AK)‘Fool! (AL)This night (AM)your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, (AN)whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one (AO)who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”
Do Not Be Anxious
22 And he said to his disciples, (AP)“Therefore I tell you, (AQ)do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 (AR)Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. (AS)Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his (AT)span of life?[c] 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, (AU)even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, (AV)O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor (AW)be worried. 30 For (AX)all the nations of the world seek after these things, and (AY)your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, (AZ)seek (BA)his[d] kingdom, (BB)and these things will be added to you.
32 (BC)“Fear not, little (BD)flock, for (BE)it is your Father's good pleasure to give you (BF)the kingdom. 33 (BG)Sell your possessions, and (BH)give to the needy. (BI)Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with (BJ)a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34 (BK)For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
You Must Be Ready
35 (BL)“Stay dressed for action[e] and (BM)keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are (BN)waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and (BO)knocks. 37 (BP)Blessed are those servants[f] whom the master finds (BQ)awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, (BR)he will dress himself for service and (BS)have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 (BT)But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour (BU)the thief was coming, he[g] would not have left his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be (BV)ready, for (BW)the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
41 Peter said, “Lord, (BX)are you telling this parable for us or for all?” 42 And the Lord said, “Who then is (BY)the faithful and (BZ)wise (CA)manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? 43 (CB)Blessed is that servant[h] whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you, (CC)he will set him over all his possessions. 45 But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master (CD)is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and (CE)get drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come (CF)on a day when he does not expect him and (CG)at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful. 47 (CH)And that servant who (CI)knew his master's will but (CJ)did not get ready (CK)or act according to his will, will receive a (CL)severe beating. 48 (CM)But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, (CN)will receive a light beating. (CO)Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
Not Peace, but Division
49 (CP)“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! 50 (CQ)I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how (CR)great is my distress until it is accomplished! 51 (CS)Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? (CT)No, I tell you, but rather division. 52 For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, (CU)father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
Interpreting the Time
54 He also said to the crowds, (CV)“When you see (CW)a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens. 55 And (CX)when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be (CY)scorching heat,’ and it happens. 56 You hypocrites! (CZ)You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
Settle with Your Accuser
57 “And why (DA)do you not judge (DB)for yourselves what is right? 58 (DC)As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. 59 I tell you, (DD)you will never get out until you have paid the very last (DE)penny.”[i]

Jesus varnar för hyckleri

12 Under tiden hade folk samlats i tusental, så att de höll på att trampa ner varandra. Men Jesus vände sig först till sina lärjungar och varnade dem: ”Akta er för fariseernas surdeg, hyckleriet. 2 Det finns ingenting gömt som inte ska komma fram och ingenting dolt som inte ska bli känt. 3 Det ni har sagt i mörkret ska höras i dagsljuset, och det ni har viskat i någons öra i enrum kommer att ropas ut från hustaken.
Var inte rädda
(Matt 10:28-33)
4 Till er som är mina vänner, säger jag: Var inte rädda för dem som kan döda kroppen, men sedan inte kan göra något mer. 5 Jag ska visa er vem ni ska frukta. Frukta honom som har makt att både döda och sedan kasta i Gehenna[a].
6 Säljs inte fem sparvar för två kopparslantar? Och ändå är ingen av dem glömd av Gud. 7 Och på er är till och med hårstråna räknade. Var alltså inte rädda! Ni är mer värda än alla sparvar tillsammans.
Bekännelse och förnekelse
(Matt 12:31-32; Mark 3:28-29)
8 Jag säger er, att om någon bekänner mig inför människorna, honom ska också Människosonen bekänna inför Guds änglar. 9 Men den som förnekar mig inför människorna ska bli förnekad inför Guds änglar. 10 Vem som än säger något mot Människosonen kan få förlåtelse, men den som hädar den heliga Anden kommer aldrig att bli förlåten.
11 När man drar er till synagogorna[b], makthavarna och myndigheterna, så oroa er inte för hur ni ska försvara er eller för vad ni ska säga. 12 Den heliga Anden kommer i samma stund att låta er veta vad ni behöver säga.”
Liknelsen om den rika lantbrukaren
13 Då sa någon i folkmassan: ”Mästare, säg till min bror att han ska dela arvet med mig.”
14 Men Jesus svarade: ”Min vän, vem har satt mig till domare, så att jag kan avgöra tvister mellan er?”
15 Vidare sa han till dem: ”Akta er för allt habegär! En människas liv är inte beroende av hur mycket hon äger.”
16 Sedan berättade han en liknelse för dem. Han sa:
”En rik lantbrukare hade fått en stor skörd. 17 Han gick och funderade på vad han skulle göra eftersom det inte gick att få in all skörd. 18 Han sa: ’Nu vet jag, jag river ner mina gamla lador och bygger större. Då får jag plats både med skörden och med allt annat jag äger. 19 Sedan kan jag slå mig till ro och säga till mig själv: Nu har du samlat så mycket att det räcker i många år. Koppla av nu! Ät, drick och roa dig!’
20 Men Gud sa till mannen: ’Din dåre, redan i natt ska ditt liv tas ifrån dig! Vem ska då få allt som du har sparat ihop?’
21 Så går det för den som samlar rikedomar åt sig själv men inte är rik inför Gud.”
Om att oroa sig
(Matt 6:25-33)
22 Sedan sa Jesus till sina lärjungar: ”Därför säger jag er: oroa er inte för hur ni ska klara livet, hur ni ska få mat att äta och kläder att ta på er. 23 Livet är ju mer än maten och kroppen mer än kläderna. 24 Tänk på korparna! De varken sår eller skördar, eller skaffar förråd eller lador, men Gud ger dem mat ändå. Är ni inte mycket mer värda än fåglarna? 25 Vem av er kan med sina bekymmer förlänga sitt liv med en enda timma? 26 Men om ni nu inte ens klarar så lite, varför oroar ni er då för allt annat?
27 Tänk på liljorna hur de växer! De arbetar inte och spinner inte. Ändå säger jag er, att inte ens Salomo i all sin prakt var så klädd som de. 28 Men om Gud nu ger sådana kläder åt gräset, som idag står på ängen och imorgon kastas på elden, skulle han då inte ordna kläder åt er? Så lite tro ni har! 29 Grubbla inte över vad ni ska äta och dricka. Oroa er inte för sådant. 30 För sådant jagar all världens folk efter, men er Fader vet redan att ni behöver det. 31 Sök först hans rike, så får ni det övriga också.
32 Var inte rädd, du lilla hjord. Er Fader i himlen har beslutat att ge er riket. 33 Sälj vad ni äger och ge åt de fattiga. Skaffa er en börs som aldrig slits ut och en skatt i himlen som är i säkert förvar, där ingen kan stjäla den och där ingen mal förstör. 34 För där er skatt finns, där kommer också ert hjärta att vara.
Var beredda
(Matt 24:43-51; 25:1-13; Mark 13:33-37)
35 Fäst upp era kläder[c] och håll lamporna brinnande. 36 Var som tjänare som väntar på att deras herre ska komma hem från en bröllopsfest, så att de snabbt kan öppna dörren för honom när han knackar. 37 Lyckliga är de som deras herre finner vakna när han kommer. Sannerligen säger jag er: han ska själv göra sig redo att tjäna, och han ska låta dem få slå sig ner vid bordet för att äta medan han passar upp dem. 38 Kanske kommer han inte förrän vid midnatt eller till och med inte förrän strax före gryningen. Men lyckliga är de som är beredda.
39 Ni ska veta att om husägaren bara visste när tjuven tänkte komma, skulle han hindra honom från att bryta sig in. 40 Var beredda ni också, för Människosonen kommer tillbaka när ni minst av allt väntar det.”
41 Petrus frågade: ”Herre, talar du denna liknelse bara till oss, eller gäller detta alla?”
42 Herren svarade: ”Vem är som en trogen och klok tjänare, som av sin herre har fått i uppgift att ansvara för de andra tjänarna och ge dem mat när de behöver? 43 Lycklig är den tjänaren om hans herre kommer hem och får se att han gör det han ska. 44 Sannerligen säger jag er: en sådan trogen tjänare ska få ansvar för allt hans herre äger. 45 Men om tjänaren säger i sitt hjärta: ’Min herre kommer inte än på ett tag’, och börjar misshandla de andra tjänarna och äta och dricka sig full, 46 då ska hans herre komma en dag då han inte alls väntar honom, vid en tid som han inte vet om. Han ska slå honom i stycken och låta honom dela plats med dem som inte tror.
47 Den tjänare som känner till sin herres vilja, men ändå inte förbereder sig eller gör vad hans herre vill, han ska straffas med många piskslag. 48 Men den som inte är medveten om att han handlar fel och gör något straffbart, ska bara straffas med några få piskslag. Av den som har fått mycket kommer det att krävas mycket, och den som har anförtrotts mycket, har också desto större ansvar.
Splittring väntar, inte fred
(Matt 10:34-35)
49 Jag har kommit för att tända en eld på jorden, och jag önskar att den redan brann! 50 Men jag måste döpas med ett dop som väntar mig, och jag plågas svårt innan det är över. 51 Tror ni att jag har kommit för att skapa fred på jorden? Nej, säger jag, utan splittring! 52 Om fem personer bor i ett hus, kommer de i fortsättningen att leva splittrade, tre mot två och två mot tre, 53 far mot son och son mot far, mor mot dotter och dotter mot mor, svärmor mot svärdotter och svärdotter mot svärmor.”
Att tolka den tid man lever i
(Matt 16:2-3; 5:25-26)
54 Sedan sa han till folket: ”När ni ser molnen torna upp sig i väster, så säger ni: ’Nu blir det regn.’ Och det blir det också. 55 När det blåser sydliga vindar säger ni: ’Idag blir det hett!’ Och det blir det. 56 Ni hycklare! Ni har lätt för att tyda tecken på jorden och himlen, men varför kan ni inte tyda den här tiden?
Gör upp med Gud innan det är för sent
57 Varför avgör ni inte själva vad som är rätt? 58 När du är på väg med din motpart till domstolen, försök då komma överens med honom innan ni är framme. Annars kanske han drar dig inför domaren, som sedan låter sin medhjälpare ta hand om dig och sätta dig i fängelse. 59 Jag säger dig: du slipper inte därifrån förrän du betalt till sista kopparslanten.”

褻瀆聖靈不得赦免
8 「我又告訴你們：凡在人面前認我的，人子在神的使者面前也必認他； 9 在人面前不認我的，人子在神的使者面前也必不認他。 10 凡說話干犯人子的，還可得赦免；唯獨褻瀆聖靈的，總不得赦免。 11 人帶你們到會堂，並官府和有權柄的人面前，不要思慮怎麼分訴，說什麼話， 12 因為正在那時候，聖靈要指教你們當說的話。」
警戒貪心
13 眾人中有一個人對耶穌說：「夫子，請你吩咐我的兄長和我分開家業。」 14 耶穌說：「你這個人！誰立我做你們斷事的官，給你們分家業呢？」 15 於是對眾人說：「你們要謹慎自守，免去一切的貪心，因為人的生命不在乎家道豐富。」
無知的財主
16 就用比喻對他們說：「有一個財主田產豐盛， 17 自己心裡思想說：『我的出產沒有地方收藏，怎麼辦呢？』 18 又說：『我要這麼辦：要把我的倉房拆了，另蓋更大的，在那裡好收藏我一切的糧食和財物， 19 然後要對我的靈魂說：「靈魂哪，你有許多財物積存，可做多年的費用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！」』 20 神卻對他說：『無知的人哪，今夜必要你的靈魂，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』 21 凡為自己積財，在神面前卻不富足的，也是這樣。」
勿慮衣食
22 耶穌又對門徒說：「所以我告訴你們，不要為生命憂慮吃什麼，為身體憂慮穿什麼。 23 因為生命勝於飲食，身體勝於衣裳。 24 你想烏鴉，也不種也不收，又沒有倉又沒有庫，神尚且養活牠，你們比飛鳥是何等地貴重呢！ 25 你們哪一個能用思慮使壽數多加一刻呢[a]？ 26 這最小的事你們尚且不能做，為什麼還憂慮其餘的事呢？ 27 你想百合花怎麼長起來，它也不勞苦，也不紡線，然而我告訴你們：就是所羅門極榮華的時候，他所穿戴的還不如這花一朵呢！ 28 你們這小信的人哪！野地裡的草今天還在，明天就丟在爐裡，神還給它這樣的裝飾，何況你們呢！ 29 你們不要求吃什麼、喝什麼，也不要掛心。 30 這都是外邦人所求的。你們必須用這些東西，你們的父是知道的。 31 你們只要求他的國，這些東西就必加給你們了。 32 你們這小群，不要懼怕，因為你們的父樂意把國賜給你們。
論真財寶
33 「你們要變賣所有的賙濟人，為自己預備永不壞的錢囊、用不盡的財寶在天上，就是賊不能近、蟲不能蛀的地方。 34 因為你們的財寶在哪裡，你們的心也在哪裡。
35 「你們腰裡要束上帶，燈也要點著， 36 自己好像僕人等候主人從婚姻的筵席上回來。他來到叩門，就立刻給他開門。 37 主人來了，看見僕人警醒，那僕人就有福了。我實在告訴你們：主人必叫他們坐席，自己束上帶進前伺候他們。 38 或是二更天來，或是三更天來，看見僕人這樣，那僕人就有福了。 39 家主若知道賊什麼時候來，就必警醒，不容賊挖透房屋，這是你們所知道的。 40 你們也要預備，因為你們想不到的時候，人子就來了。」
善僕與惡僕的報應
41 彼得說：「主啊，這比喻是為我們說的呢，還是為眾人呢？」 42 主說：「誰是那忠心有見識的管家，主人派他管理家裡的人，按時分糧給他們呢？ 43 主人來到，看見僕人這樣行，那僕人就有福了。 44 我實在告訴你們：主人要派他管理一切所有的。 45 那僕人若心裡說『我的主人必來得遲』，就動手打僕人和使女，並且吃喝醉酒， 46 在他想不到的日子，不知道的時辰，那僕人的主人要來，重重地處治他[b]，定他和不忠心的人同罪。 47 僕人知道主人的意思，卻不預備，又不順他的意思行，那僕人必多受責打。 48 唯有那不知道的，做了當受責打的事，必少受責打。因為多給誰，就向誰多取；多託誰，就向誰多要。
侍主和不侍主的紛爭
49 「我來要把火丟在地上，倘若已經著起來，不也是我所願意的嗎？ 50 我有當受的洗還沒有成就，我是何等地迫切呢！ 51 你們以為我來是叫地上太平嗎？我告訴你們：不是，乃是叫人紛爭。 52 從今以後，一家五個人將要紛爭：三個人和兩個人相爭，兩個人和三個人相爭； 53 父親和兒子相爭，兒子和父親相爭；母親和女兒相爭，女兒和母親相爭；婆婆和媳婦相爭，媳婦和婆婆相爭。」
54 耶穌又對眾人說：「你們看見西邊起了雲彩，就說『要下一陣雨』，果然就有。 55 起了南風，就說『將要燥熱』，也就有了。 56 假冒為善的人哪，你們知道分辨天地的氣色，怎麼不知道分辨這時候呢？ 57 你們又為何不自己審量什麼是合理的呢？ 58 你同告你的對頭去見官，還在路上，務要盡力地和他了結，恐怕他拉你到官面前，官交付差役，差役把你下在監裡。 59 我告訴你：若有半文錢沒有還清，你斷不能從那裡出來。」
