12 Sur ces entrefaites, les gens s'étant rassemblés par milliers, au point de se fouler les uns les autres, Jésus se mit à dire à ses disciples: Avant tout, gardez-vous du levain des pharisiens, qui est l'hypocrisie.
2 Il n'y a rien de caché qui ne doive être découvert, ni de secret qui ne doive être connu.
3 C'est pourquoi tout ce que vous aurez dit dans les ténèbres sera entendu dans la lumière, et ce que vous aurez dit à l'oreille dans les chambres sera prêché sur les toits.
4 Je vous dis, à vous qui êtes mes amis: Ne craignez pas ceux qui tuent le corps et qui, après cela, ne peuvent rien faire de plus.
5 Je vous montrerai qui vous devez craindre. Craignez celui qui, après avoir tué, a le pouvoir de jeter dans la géhenne; oui, je vous le dis, c'est lui que vous devez craindre.
6 Ne vend-on pas cinq passereaux pour deux sous? Cependant, aucun d'eux n'est oublié devant Dieu.
7 Et même les cheveux de votre tête sont tous comptés. Ne craignez donc point: vous valez plus que beaucoup de passereaux.
8 Je vous le dis, quiconque me confessera devant les hommes, le Fils de l'homme le confessera aussi devant les anges de Dieu;
9 mais celui qui me reniera devant les hommes sera renié devant les anges de Dieu.
10 Et quiconque parlera contre le Fils de l'homme, il lui sera pardonné; mais à celui qui blasphémera contre le Saint Esprit il ne sera point pardonné.
11 Quand on vous mènera devant les synagogues, les magistrats et les autorités, ne vous inquiétez pas de la manière dont vous vous défendrez ni de ce que vous direz;
12 car le Saint Esprit vous enseignera à l'heure même ce qu'il faudra dire.
13 Quelqu'un dit à Jésus, du milieu de la foule: Maître, dis à mon frère de partager avec moi notre héritage.
14 Jésus lui répondit: O homme, qui m'a établi pour être votre juge, ou pour faire vos partages?
15 Puis il leur dit: Gardez-vous avec soin de toute avarice; car la vie d'un homme ne dépend pas de ses biens, fût-il dans l'abondance.
16 Et il leur dit cette parabole: Les terres d'un homme riche avaient beaucoup rapporté.
17 Et il raisonnait en lui-même, disant: Que ferai-je? car je n'ai pas de place pour serrer ma récolte.
18 Voici, dit-il, ce que je ferai: j'abattrai mes greniers, j'en bâtirai de plus grands, j'y amasserai toute ma récolte et tous mes biens;
19 et je dirai à mon âme: Mon âme, tu as beaucoup de biens en réserve pour plusieurs années; repose-toi, mange, bois, et réjouis-toi.
20 Mais Dieu lui dit: Insensé! cette nuit même ton âme te sera redemandée; et ce que tu as préparé, pour qui cela sera-t-il?
21 Il en est ainsi de celui qui amasse des trésors pour lui-même, et qui n'est pas riche pour Dieu.
22 Jésus dit ensuite à ses disciples: C'est pourquoi je vous dis: Ne vous inquiétez pas pour votre vie de ce que vous mangerez, ni pour votre corps de quoi vous serez vêtus.
23 La vie est plus que la nourriture, et le corps plus que le vêtement.
24 Considérez les corbeaux: ils ne sèment ni ne moissonnent, ils n'ont ni cellier ni grenier; et Dieu les nourrit. Combien ne valez-vous pas plus que les oiseaux!
25 Qui de vous, par ses inquiétudes, peut ajouter une coudée à la durée de sa vie?
26 Si donc vous ne pouvez pas même la moindre chose, pourquoi vous inquiétez-vous du reste?
27 Considérez comment croissent les lis: ils ne travaillent ni ne filent; cependant je vous dis que Salomon même, dans toute sa gloire, n'a pas été vêtu comme l'un d'eux.
28 Si Dieu revêt ainsi l'herbe qui est aujourd'hui dans les champs et qui demain sera jetée au four, à combien plus forte raison ne vous vêtira-t-il pas, gens de peu de foi?
29 Et vous, ne cherchez pas ce que vous mangerez et ce que vous boirez, et ne soyez pas inquiets.
30 Car toutes ces choses, ce sont les païens du monde qui les recherchent. Votre Père sait que vous en avez besoin.
31 Cherchez plutôt le royaume de Dieu; et toutes ces choses vous seront données par-dessus.
32 Ne crains point, petit troupeau; car votre Père a trouvé bon de vous donner le royaume.
33 Vendez ce que vous possédez, et donnez-le en aumônes. Faites-vous des bourses qui ne s'usent point, un trésor inépuisable dans les cieux, où le voleur n'approche point, et où la teigne ne détruit point.
34 Car là où est votre trésor, là aussi sera votre coeur.
35 Que vos reins soient ceints, et vos lampes allumées.
36 Et vous, soyez semblables à des hommes qui attendent que leur maître revienne des noces, afin de lui ouvrir dès qu'il arrivera et frappera.
37 Heureux ces serviteurs que le maître, à son arrivée, trouvera veillant! Je vous le dis en vérité, il se ceindra, les fera mettre à table, et s'approchera pour les servir.
38 Qu'il arrive à la deuxième ou à la troisième veille, heureux ces serviteurs, s'il les trouve veillant!
39 Sachez-le bien, si le maître de la maison savait à quelle heure le voleur doit venir, il veillerait et ne laisserait pas percer sa maison.
40 Vous aussi, tenez-vous prêts, car le Fils de l'homme viendra à l'heure où vous n'y penserez pas.
41 Pierre lui dit: Seigneur, est-ce à nous, ou à tous, que tu adresses cette parabole?
42 Et le Seigneur dit: Quel est donc l'économe fidèle et prudent que le maître établira sur ses gens, pour leur donner la nourriture au temps convenable?
43 Heureux ce serviteur, que son maître, à son arrivée, trouvera faisant ainsi!
44 Je vous le dis en vérité, il l'établira sur tous ses biens.
45 Mais, si ce serviteur dit en lui-même: Mon maître tarde à venir; s'il se met à battre les serviteurs et les servantes, à manger, à boire et à s'enivrer,
46 le maître de ce serviteur viendra le jour où il ne s'y attend pas et à l'heure qu'il ne connaît pas, il le mettra en pièces, et lui donnera sa part avec les infidèles.
47 Le serviteur qui, ayant connu la volonté de son maître, n'a rien préparé et n'a pas agi selon sa volonté, sera battu d'un grand nombre de coups.
48 Mais celui qui, ne l'ayant pas connue, a fait des choses dignes de châtiment, sera battu de peu de coups. On demandera beaucoup à qui l'on a beaucoup donné, et on exigera davantage de celui à qui l'on a beaucoup confié.
49 Je suis venu jeter un feu sur la terre, et qu'ai-je à désirer, s'il est déjà allumé?
50 Il est un baptême dont je dois être baptisé, et combien il me tarde qu'il soit accompli!
51 Pensez-vous que je sois venu apporter la paix sur la terre? Non, vous dis-je, mais la division.
52 Car désormais cinq dans une maison seront divisés, trois contre deux, et deux contre trois;
53 le père contre le fils et le fils contre le père, la mère contre la fille et la fille contre la mère, la belle-mère contre la belle-fille et la belle-fille contre la belle-mère.
54 Il dit encore aux foules: Quand vous voyez un nuage se lever à l'occident, vous dites aussitôt: La pluie vient. Et il arrive ainsi.
55 Et quand vous voyez souffler le vent du midi, vous dites: Il fera chaud. Et cela arrive.
56 Hypocrites! vous savez discerner l'aspect de la terre et du ciel; comment ne discernez-vous pas ce temps-ci?
57 Et pourquoi ne discernez-vous pas de vous-mêmes ce qui est juste?
58 Lorsque tu vas avec ton adversaire devant le magistrat, tâche en chemin de te dégager de lui, de peur qu'il ne te traîne devant le juge, que le juge ne te livre à l'officier de justice, et que celui-ci ne te mette en prison.
59 Je te le dis, tu ne sortiras pas de là que tu n'aies payé jusqu'à dernière pite.

Babala Laban sa mga Pakitang-tao(A)
12 Libu-libong tao ang dumagsa kay Jesus, kaya nagkakasiksikan na sila. Binalaan ni Jesus ang mga tagasunod niya, “Mag-ingat kayo at baka mahawa kayo sa ugali[a] ng mga Pariseo na pakitang-tao. 2 Walang natatago na hindi malalantad, at walang nalilihim na hindi mabubunyag. 3 Kaya anumang sabihin ninyo sa dilim ay maririnig sa liwanag, at anumang ibulong ninyo sa loob ng kwarto ay malalaman ng lahat.”
Ang Dapat Katakutan(B)
4 “Sinasabi ko sa inyo, mga kaibigan, huwag kayong matakot sa mga gustong pumatay sa inyo. Ang kaya lang nilang patayin ay ang katawan ninyo, at pagkatapos ay wala na silang magagawa pa. 5 Sasabihin ko sa inyo kung sino ang dapat ninyong katakutan: katakutan ninyo ang Dios, dahil pagkatapos niyang patayin ang katawan nʼyo ay may kapangyarihan pa siyang itapon kayo sa impyerno. Oo, sinasabi ko sa inyo, siya ang dapat ninyong katakutan. 6 Hindi baʼt napakamura ng halaga ng maya? Ngunit kahit isa sa kanila ay hindi nakakalimutan ng Dios. 7 Higit kayong mahalaga kaysa sa maraming maya. Kahit ang bilang ng buhok nʼyo ay alam niya. Kaya huwag kayong matakot.”

8 Sinabi pa ni Jesus sa kanila, “Tandaan ninyo: ang sinumang kumikilala sa akin na ako ang Panginoon niya sa harap ng mga tao, ako na Anak ng Tao, ay kikilalanin din siya sa harap ng mga anghel ng Dios. 9 Ngunit ang hindi kumikilala sa akin sa harap ng mga tao ay hindi ko rin kikilalanin sa harap ng mga anghel ng Dios. 10 Ang sinumang magsalita ng masama laban sa akin na Anak ng Tao ay mapapatawad, ngunit ang magsalita ng masama laban sa Banal na Espiritu ay hindi mapapatawad.
11 “Kung dahil sa pananampalataya ninyo ay dadalhin kayo sa mga sambahan ng mga Judio o sa mga tagapamahala ng bayan upang imbestigahan, huwag kayong mag-alala kung paano kayo mangangatwiran o kung ano ang sasabihin ninyo. 12 Sapagkat ituturo sa inyo ng Banal na Espiritu sa oras ding iyon kung ano ang dapat ninyong sabihin.”

13 Sinabi kay Jesus ng isa sa karamihan, “Guro, sabihin nga po ninyo sa kapatid ko na ibigay niya sa akin ang bahagi ko sa mana namin.” 14 Sumagot si Jesus, “Kaibigan, tagahatol ba ako o tagahati ng pag-aari ninyo?” 15 Pagkatapos, sinabi niya sa kanila, “Mag-ingat kayo sa lahat ng uri ng kasakiman, dahil ang buhay ng tao ay hindi nasusukat sa dami ng kanyang pag-aari.” 16 At ikinuwento niya ang talinghaga na ito: “May isang mayamang may bukirin na umani nang sagana. 17 Sinabi niya sa kanyang sarili, ‘Ano kaya ang gagawin ko? Wala na akong mapaglagyan ng ani ko. 18 Alam ko na! Gigibain ko ang mga bodega ko at magpapagawa ako ng mas malaki, at doon ko ilalagay ang ani at mga ari-arian ko. 19 At dahil marami na akong naipon para sa maraming taon, magpapahinga na lang ako, kakain, iinom at magpapakaligaya!’ 20 Ngunit sinabi sa kanya ng Dios, ‘Hangal! Ngayong gabi ay babawiin ko sa iyo ang buhay mo. Kanino ngayon mapupunta ang lahat ng inipon mo para sa iyong sarili?’ 21 Ganyan ang mangyayari sa taong nagpapayaman sa sarili ngunit mahirap sa paningin ng Dios.”
Manalig sa Dios(D)
22 Pagkatapos, sinabi ni Jesus sa mga tagasunod niya, “Kaya huwag kayong mag-alala tungkol inyong buhay – kung ano ang inyong kakainin, o susuotin. 23 Dahil kung binigyan kayo ng Dios ng buhay, siguradong bibigyan din niya kayo ng pagkain at isusuot. 24 Tingnan ninyo ang mga uwak. Hindi sila nagtatanim, o nag-aani, o nag-iipon sa mga bodega, pero pinakakain sila ng Dios. Higit kayong mahalaga kaysa sa mga ibon! 25 Sino sa inyo ang makakapagpahaba ng kanyang buhay nang kahit kaunti sa pamamagitan ng pag-aalala? 26 Kaya kung hindi ninyo kayang gawin ang ganyang kaliit na bagay, bakit kayo mag-aalala tungkol sa iba pang bagay? 27 Tingnan ninyo kung paano tumutubo ang mga bulaklak sa parang. Hindi sila nagtatrabaho o gumagawa ng maisusuot nila. Ngunit sasabihin ko sa inyo, kahit si Solomon ay hindi nakapagsuot ng kasingganda ng mga bulaklak na iyon sa kabila ng kanyang karangyaan. 28 Kung dinadamitan ng Dios nang ganito ang mga damo sa parang, na buhay ngayon pero kinabukasan ay malalanta at susunugin, kayo pa kaya? Kay liit ng inyong pananampalataya! 29 Kaya huwag kayong mag-alala kung ano ang kakainin o iinumin ninyo. 30 Ang mga bagay na ito ang pinapahalagahan ng mga tao sa mundo na hindi kumikilala sa Dios. Ngunit alam ng inyong Amang nasa langit na kailangan ninyo ang mga ito. 31 Sa halip, unahin ninyo ang mapabilang sa kaharian ng Dios at pati ang mga pangangailangan ninyo ay ibibigay niya.”
Kayamanan sa Langit(E)
32 “Kayong mga tagasunod ko ay kaunti lang.[b] Ngunit huwag kayong matakot, dahil ipinagkaloob ng inyong Ama na maghari kayong kasama niya. 33 Ipagbili ninyo ang mga ari-arian ninyo at ipamigay ang pera sa mga mahihirap, upang makaipon kayo ng kayamanan sa langit. Doon, ang maiipon ninyong kayamanan ay hindi maluluma o mauubos, sapagkat doon ay walang makakalapit na magnanakaw o makakapanirang insekto. 34 Sapagkat kung nasaan ang kayamanan ninyo, naroon din ang puso ninyo.”

35-36 Sinabi pa ni Jesus sa kanila, “Maging handa kayo palagi sa pagbabalik ng inyong Panginoon, katulad ng mga aliping naghihintay sa pag-uwi ng kanilang amo mula sa kasalan. Nakahanda sila at nakasindi ang mga ilawan nila, upang sa pagdating at pagkatok ng amo nila ay mabubuksan nila agad ang pinto. 37 Mapalad ang mga aliping madadatnan ng amo nila na gising at nagbabantay sa kanyang pag-uwi. Sinasabi ko sa inyo ang totoo, maghahanda ang amo nila para pagsilbihan sila. Sila ay pauupuin niya sa kanyang mesa at pagsisilbihan habang kumakain sila. 38 Mapalad ang mga aliping iyon kung madadatnan sila ng amo nila na handa kahit anong oras – hatinggabi man o madaling-araw. 39 Tandaan ninyo ito: kung alam ng isang tao kung anong oras darating ang magnanakaw, hindi niya hahayaang pasukin nito ang bahay niya. 40 Kayo man ay dapat maging handa, dahil ako, na Anak ng Tao, ay darating sa oras na hindi ninyo inaasahan.”

Siya ang magbibigay sa kanila ng pagkain nila sa tamang oras. 43 Mapalad ang aliping iyon kapag nadatnan siya ng amo niya na ginagawa ang kanyang tungkulin. 44 Sinasabi ko sa inyo ang totoo, pamamahalain siya ng kanyang amo sa lahat ng mga ari-arian nito. 45 Ngunit kawawa ang alipin kung inaakala niyang matatagalan pa bago bumalik ang amo niya, at habang wala ito ay pagmamalupitan niya ang ibang mga alipin, lalaki man o babae, at magpapakabusog siya at maglalasing. 46 Darating ang amo niya sa araw o oras na hindi niya inaasahan, at parurusahan siya nang matindi[c] at isasama sa mga hindi mapagkakatiwalaan.
47 “Ang aliping nakakaalam ng kagustuhan ng amo niya ngunit hindi naghahanda at hindi gumagawa ng kanyang tungkulin ay tatanggap ng mabigat na parusa.[d] 48 At ang aliping hindi nakakaalam ng kagustuhan ng amo niya, at nakagawa ng kamalian ay parurusahan din, pero magaan lang. Ang binigyan ng marami ay hahanapan ng marami. Mas marami nga ang pananagutan ng pinagkatiwalaan ng mas marami.”

49 “Naparito ako sa lupa upang magdala ng apoy[e] at gusto ko sanang magliyab na ito. 50 Ngunit bago ito mangyari, may mga paghihirap na kailangan kong pagdaanan. At hindi ako mapapalagay hanggaʼt hindi ito natutupad.
51 “Akala ba ninyo ay naparito ako sa lupa upang magkaroon ng maayos na relasyon ang mga tao? Ang totoo, naparito ako upang magkaroon sila ng hidwaan. 52 Mula ngayon, mahahati ang limang tao sa loob ng isang pamilya. Tatlo laban sa dalawa at dalawa laban sa tatlo. 53 Kokontrahin ng ama ang anak niyang lalaki, at kokontrahin din ng anak na lalaki ang kanyang ama. Ganoon din ang mangyayari sa ina at sa anak niyang babae, at sa biyenang babae at sa manugang niyang babae.”

54 Sinabi ni Jesus sa mga tao, “Kapag nakita ninyo ang makapal na ulap sa kanluran, sinasabi ninyong uulan, at umuulan nga. 55 At kapag umihip naman ang hanging habagat ay sinasabi ninyong iinit, at umiinit nga. 56 Mga pakitang-tao! Alam ninyo ang kahulugan ng mga palatandaang nakikita ninyo sa lupa at sa langit, pero bakit hindi ninyo alam ang kahulugan ng mga nangyayari ngayon?

57 “Bakit hindi ninyo mapagpasyahan kung ano ang matuwid? 58 Kapag may magdedemanda sa iyo, pagsikapan mong makipag-ayos sa kanya habang papunta pa lang kayo sa hukuman; dahil baka pilitin ka pa niyang humarap sa hukom, at pagkatapos ay ibigay ka ng hukom sa alagad ng batas upang ipabilanggo. 59 Tinitiyak ko sa iyo, hindi ka makakalabas ng bilangguan hanggaʼt hindi mo nababayaran ang lahat ng multa[f] mo.”

Warnings and Encouragements(A)
12 Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be[a] on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.(B) 2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.(C) 3 What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
4 “I tell you, my friends,(D) do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.(E) 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.(F) Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.(G)
8 “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.(H) 9 But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned(I) before the angels of God. 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man(J) will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.(K)
11 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say,(L) 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”(M)
The Parable of the Rich Fool
13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”(N)
16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool!(O) This very night your life will be demanded from you.(P) Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’(Q)
21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”(R)
Do Not Worry(S)
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them.(T) And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[b]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor(U) was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!(V) 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father(W) knows that you need them.(X) 31 But seek his kingdom,(Y) and these things will be given to you as well.(Z)
32 “Do not be afraid,(AA) little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.(AB) 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor.(AC) Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven(AD) that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.(AE) 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.(AF)
Watchfulness(AG)(AH)
35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes.(AI) Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.(AJ) 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. 39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief(AK) was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready,(AL) because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
41 Peter asked, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?”
42 The Lord(AM) answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? 43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. 44 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45 But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.(AN) He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.(AO) 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.(AP) From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Not Peace but Division(AQ)
49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism(AR) to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!(AS) 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”(AT)
Interpreting the Times
54 He said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does.(AU) 55 And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. 56 Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?(AV)
57 “Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right? 58 As you are going with your adversary to the magistrate, try hard to be reconciled on the way, or your adversary may drag you off to the judge, and the judge turn you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.(AW) 59 I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.”(AX)
