Chúa Vào Nhà Xa-chê
19 Ngài vào Thành Giê-ri-cô và đi xuyên qua thành. 2 Này, trong thành có một người tên là Xa-chê. Ông làm trưởng ty thuế vụ và giàu có. 3 Ông muốn xem Ðức Chúa Jesus là ai, nhưng vì đám đông ông không thể thấy Ngài, bởi ông lùn. 4 Vì thế ông chạy về phía trước và leo lên một cây sung để có thể thấy Ngài, vì Ngài sẽ đi ngang qua đó.
5 Khi Ðức Chúa Jesus đến chỗ đó, Ngài ngước nhìn lên và nói với ông, “Hỡi Xa-chê, hãy xuống mau, vì hôm nay Ta phải ở lại nhà ngươi.”
6 Xa-chê vội vàng leo xuống và vui mừng tiếp Ngài vào nhà ông. 7 Thấy vậy mọi người xầm xì với nhau, “Ngài vào làm khách trong nhà một kẻ tội lỗi.”
8 Bấy giờ Xa-chê đứng dậy và thưa với Chúa, “Lạy Chúa, này, con lấy phân nửa tài sản của con đem cho người nghèo, và nếu con gian dối đoạt lấy của ai bất cứ vật gì, con sẽ đền lại gấp tư.”
9 Ðức Chúa Jesus nói với ông, “Hôm nay ơn cứu rỗi đã đến nhà này, bởi người này cũng là con cháu của Áp-ra-ham. 10 Vì Con Người đã đến để tìm và cứu kẻ lạc mất.”
Mười Nén Bạc
(Mat 25:14-30)
11 Ðang khi người ta lắng nghe những điều ấy, Ðức Chúa Jesus kể thêm một ngụ ngôn nữa vì Ngài đã đến gần Giê-ru-sa-lem, và người ta nghĩ rằng vương quốc Ðức Chúa Trời sắp thể hiện. 12 Ngài nói, “Một nhà quý tộc kia phải đi phương xa để nhận vương quyền rồi sẽ trở về. 13 Ông gọi mười đầy tớ của ông đến, giao cho họ mười nén bạc, và nói, ‘Hãy đem bạc này đi kinh doanh cho đến khi ta trở về.’ 14 Nhưng dân trong xứ ghét ông; họ gởi một phái đoàn theo sau ông, tâu rằng, ‘Chúng tôi không muốn người này cai trị chúng tôi.’
15 Sau khi đã nhận vương quyền trở về, ông truyền cho những đầy tớ ông đã giao bạc đến để xem họ kinh doanh sinh lợi thể nào.
16 Người thứ nhất bước đến và nói, ‘Thưa chủ, nén bạc của chủ đã sinh lợi được mười nén.’ 17 Ông nói, ‘Tốt lắm, thật là đầy tớ giỏi. Bởi vì ngươi đã trung tín trong việc rất nhỏ, hãy cai trị mười thành.’
18 Người thứ hai đến nói, ‘Thưa chủ, nén bạc của chủ đã sinh lợi được năm nén.’ 19 Ông nói với người ấy, ‘Ngươi hãy cai trị năm thành.’
20 Kế đó một đầy tớ khác nữa đến, nói rằng, ‘Thưa chủ, đây là nén bạc của chủ mà tôi đã lấy khăn gói lại và cất kỹ. 21 Vì tôi sợ chủ, bởi vì chủ là người nghiêm ngặt; chủ thu trong chỗ không chi và gặt trong chỗ không gieo.’
22 Ông nói với người ấy, ‘Hỡi tên đầy tớ gian ngoa xảo quyệt kia, cứ theo lời miệng ngươi nói mà ta xét đoán ngươi. Ngươi biết ta là người nghiêm ngặt, ta thu trong chỗ không chi và gặt trong chỗ không gieo phải không? 23 Vậy tại sao ngươi không gởi bạc của ta vào ngân hàng để khi về ta sẽ thu cả vốn lẫn lời?’
24 Ông truyền cho những người đứng gần đó, ‘Hãy lấy nén bạc của nó mà trao cho người có mười nén.’
25 Họ nói với ông, ‘Thưa chủ, người ấy đã có mười nén rồi.’
26 ‘Ta nói với các ngươi: ai có sẽ được cho thêm, còn ai không có thì ngay cả những gì người đó có cũng sẽ bị lấy đi. 27 Còn những kẻ thù của ta, những kẻ không muốn ta trị vì chúng, hãy đem chúng đến đây và giết chúng trước mặt ta.’”

(Mat 21:1-11; Mác 11:1-10; Gg 12:12-19)
28 Sau khi Ngài đã nói những điều ấy, Ngài đi trước dẫn đầu họ lên Thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. 29 Khi Ngài đến gần Bết-pha-giê và Bê-tha-ni, tại một núi tên là Ô-liu, Ngài sai hai môn đồ Ngài ra đi 30 và dặn rằng, “Hãy vào làng trước mặt các ngươi. Vừa khi vào làng, các ngươi sẽ thấy một con lừa tơ chưa được ai cỡi cột ở đó; hãy mở dây và dắt nó về đây. 31 Nếu ai hỏi các ngươi, ‘Tại sao các anh mở nó ra?’ các ngươi hãy đáp, ‘Chúa cần dùng nó.’”
32 Hai môn đồ ấy ra đi và gặp y như điều Ngài đã bảo họ. 33 Vừa khi họ mở dây cột con lừa, mấy người chủ con lừa hỏi họ, “Tại sao các anh mở dây cột con lừa này ra?”
34 Họ đáp, “Chúa cần dùng nó.”
35 Ðoạn họ dắt con lừa ấy đến Ðức Chúa Jesus. Họ lấy áo choàng của họ trải trên lưng lừa, rồi đỡ Ðức Chúa Jesus cỡi lên.
36 Ngài đi đến đâu, người ta trải áo choàng của mình ra trên đường đến đó. 37 Khi Ngài đến gần và sắp sửa đi xuống Núi Ô-liu, cả đoàn đông môn đồ Ngài bắt đầu lớn tiếng ca ngợi Ðức Chúa Trời cách vui mừng về những việc quyền năng họ đã chứng kiến. 38 Họ tung hô rằng,
“Chúc tụng Vua, Ðấng nhân danh Chúa ngự đến!
Bình an trên trời và vinh hiển trong nơi chí cao!”
39 Vài người Pha-ri-si trong đám đông nói với Ngài, “Thưa Thầy, xin hãy quở trách các môn đồ Thầy.”
40 Ngài trả lời họ và nói, “Ta nói với các ngươi, nếu những người ấy nín lặng, đá sẽ tung hô.”
Chúa Khóc về Thành Giê-ru-sa-lem
41 Khi Ngài đến gần thành và thấy thành, Ngài khóc về thành 42 rằng, “Ước gì ngày nay chính ngươi biết những gì đem bình an đến cho ngươi; nhưng bây giờ những điều ấy đã bị che khuất khỏi mắt ngươi. 43 Vì những ngày đến quân thù của ngươi sẽ đắp lũy chung quanh ngươi, bao vây ngươi, và công phá ngươi tứ phía. 44 Chúng sẽ san bằng ngươi thành bình địa và giết con cái của ngươi sống trong ngươi. Chúng sẽ không chừa một tảng đá nào trên tảng đá nào, vì ngươi không nhận biết thời điểm ngươi được thăm viếng.”
Chúa Dẹp Sạch Ðền Thờ
(Mat 21:12-17; Mác 11:15-19; Gg 2:13-22)
45 Ngài đi vào đền thờ và bắt đầu đuổi những kẻ buôn bán ở đó ra. 46 Ngài nói với họ, “Có lời chép rằng,
‘Nhà Ta sẽ là nhà cầu nguyện,’
Nhưng các ngươi đã biến nó thành
‘Sào huyệt của bọn cướp.’”
47 Hằng ngày Ngài dạy dỗ trong đền thờ; nhưng các trưởng tế, các thầy dạy giáo luật, và những người lãnh đạo trong dân tìm cách giết Ngài. 48 Tuy nhiên họ chẳng tìm được cách nào để thực hiện ý đồ đó, bởi vì tất cả dân chúng đều say mê nghe Ngài giảng dạy.

19 Jésus, étant entré dans Jéricho, traversait la ville.
2 Et voici, un homme riche, appelé Zachée, chef des publicains, cherchait à voir qui était Jésus;
3 mais il ne pouvait y parvenir, à cause de la foule, car il était de petite taille.
4 Il courut en avant, et monta sur un sycomore pour le voir, parce qu'il devait passer par là.
5 Lorsque Jésus fut arrivé à cet endroit, il leva les yeux et lui dit: Zachée, hâte-toi de descendre; car il faut que je demeure aujourd'hui dans ta maison.
6 Zachée se hâta de descendre, et le reçut avec joie.
7 Voyant cela, tous murmuraient, et disaient: Il est allé loger chez un homme pécheur.
8 Mais Zachée, se tenant devant le Seigneur, lui dit: Voici, Seigneur, je donne aux pauvres la moitié de mes biens, et, si j'ai fait tort de quelque chose à quelqu'un, je lui rends le quadruple.
9 Jésus lui dit: Le salut est entré aujourd'hui dans cette maison, parce que celui-ci est aussi un fils d'Abraham.
10 Car le Fils de l'homme est venu chercher et sauver ce qui était perdu.
11 Ils écoutaient ces choses, et Jésus ajouta une parabole, parce qu'il était près de Jérusalem, et qu'on croyait qu'à l'instant le royaume de Dieu allait paraître.
12 Il dit donc: Un homme de haute naissance s'en alla dans un pays lointain, pour se faire investir de l'autorité royale, et revenir ensuite.
13 Il appela dix de ses serviteurs, leur donna dix mines, et leur dit: Faites-les valoir jusqu'à ce que je revienne.
14 Mais ses concitoyens le haïssaient, et ils envoyèrent une ambassade après lui, pour dire: Nous ne voulons pas que cet homme règne sur nous.
15 Lorsqu'il fut de retour, après avoir été investi de l'autorité royale, il fit appeler auprès de lui les serviteurs auxquels il avait donné l'argent, afin de connaître comment chacun l'avait fait valoir.
16 Le premier vint, et dit: Seigneur, ta mine a rapporté dix mines.
17 Il lui dit: C'est bien, bon serviteur; parce que tu as été fidèle en peu de chose, reçois le gouvernement de dix villes.
18 Le second vint, et dit: Seigneur, ta mine a produit cinq mines.
19 Il lui dit: Toi aussi, sois établi sur cinq villes.
20 Un autre vint, et dit: Seigneur, voici ta mine, que j'ai gardée dans un linge;
21 car j'avais peur de toi, parce que tu es un homme sévère; tu prends ce que tu n'as pas déposé, et tu moissonnes ce que tu n'as pas semé.
22 Il lui dit: Je te juge sur tes paroles, méchant serviteur; tu savais que je suis un homme sévère, prenant ce que je n'ai pas déposé, et moissonnant ce que je n'ai pas semé;
23 pourquoi donc n'as-tu pas mis mon argent dans une banque, afin qu'à mon retour je le retirasse avec un intérêt?
24 Puis il dit à ceux qui étaient là: Otez-lui la mine, et donnez-la à celui qui a les dix mines.
25 Ils lui dirent: Seigneur, il a dix mines. -
26 Je vous le dis, on donnera à celui qui a, mais à celui qui n'a pas on ôtera même ce qu'il a.
27 Au reste, amenez ici mes ennemis, qui n'ont pas voulu que je régnasse sur eux, et tuez-les en ma présence.
28 Après avoir ainsi parlé, Jésus marcha devant la foule, pour monter à Jérusalem.
29 Lorsqu'il approcha de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, vers la montagne appelée montagne des Oliviers, Jésus envoya deux de ses disciples,
30 en disant: Allez au village qui est en face; quand vous y serez entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel aucun homme ne s'est jamais assis; détachez-le, et amenez-le.
31 Si quelqu'un vous demande: Pourquoi le détachez-vous? vous lui répondrez: Le Seigneur en a besoin.
32 Ceux qui étaient envoyés allèrent, et trouvèrent les choses comme Jésus leur avait dit.
33 Comme ils détachaient l'ânon, ses maîtres leur dirent: Pourquoi détachez-vous l'ânon?
34 Ils répondirent: Le Seigneur en a besoin.
35 Et ils amenèrent à Jésus l'ânon, sur lequel ils jetèrent leurs vêtements, et firent monter Jésus.
36 Quand il fut en marche, les gens étendirent leurs vêtements sur le chemin.
37 Et lorsque déjà il approchait de Jérusalem, vers la descente de la montagne des Oliviers, toute la multitude des disciples, saisie de joie, se mit à louer Dieu à haute voix pour tous les miracles qu'ils avaient vus.
38 Ils disaient: Béni soit le roi qui vient au nom du Seigneur! Paix dans le ciel, et gloire dans les lieux très hauts!
39 Quelques pharisiens, du milieu de la foule, dirent à Jésus: Maître, reprends tes disciples.
40 Et il répondit: Je vous le dis, s'ils se taisent, les pierres crieront!
41 Comme il approchait de la ville, Jésus, en la voyant, pleura sur elle, et dit:
42 Si toi aussi, au moins en ce jour qui t'est donné, tu connaissais les choses qui appartiennent à ta paix! Mais maintenant elles sont cachées à tes yeux.
43 Il viendra sur toi des jours où tes ennemis t'environneront de tranchées, t'enfermeront, et te serreront de toutes parts;
44 ils te détruiront, toi et tes enfants au milieu de toi, et ils ne laisseront pas en toi pierre sur pierre, parce que tu n'as pas connu le temps où tu as été visitée.
45 Il entra dans le temple, et il se mit à chasser ceux qui vendaient,
46 leur disant: Il est écrit: Ma maison sera une maison de prière. Mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.
47 Il enseignait tous les jours dans le temple. Et les principaux sacrificateurs, les scribes, et les principaux du peuple cherchaient à le faire périr;
48 mais ils ne savaient comment s'y prendre, car tout le peuple l'écoutait avec admiration.

Zacchaeus the Tax Collector
19 Jesus entered Jericho(A) and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig(B) tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.(C)
5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.
7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”(D)
8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord,(E) “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything,(F) I will pay back four times the amount.”(G)
9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.(H) 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”(I)
The Parable of the Ten Minas(J)
11 While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God(K) was going to appear at once.(L) 12 He said: “A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants(M) and gave them ten minas.[a] ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’
14 “But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’
15 “He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.
16 “The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’
17 “‘Well done, my good servant!’(N) his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’(O)
18 “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’
19 “His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’
20 “Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. 21 I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’(P)
22 “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words,(Q) you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?(R) 23 Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
24 “Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25 “‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.(S) 27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(T)(U)
28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.(V) 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany(W) at the hill called the Mount of Olives,(X) he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”
32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.(Y) 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.”
35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks(Z) on the road.
37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives,(AA) the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”(AC)
39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”(AD)
40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”(AE)
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it(AF) 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.(AG) 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls.(AH) They will not leave one stone on another,(AI) because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming(AJ) to you.”
Jesus at the Temple(AK)
45 When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. 46 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’[c];(AL) but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[d]”(AM)
47 Every day he was teaching at the temple.(AN) But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.(AO) 48 Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
