17 Đức Giê-su dạy các môn đệ: “Việc gây vấp phạm không thể nào không có, nhưng khốn cho kẻ nào gây ra việc ấy. 2 Thà buộc cối đá vào cổ nó mà quăng xuống biển còn hơn là để nó gây cho một trong các kẻ bé mọn này phạm tội. 3 Các con phải cảnh giác! Nếu anh em con phạm tội, hãy khuyến cáo[a] và nếu người ấy ăn năn, hãy tha thứ. 4 Nếu trong một ngày, người ấy phạm lỗi bảy lần với con, rồi bảy lần đến nói: ‘Tôi ăn năn,’ thì con cũng hãy tha thứ!”
5 Các sứ đồ thưa với Chúa: “Xin Chúa thêm đức tin cho chúng con!”
6 Chúa đáp: “Nếu các con có đức tin như hạt cải, các con có thể bảo cây dâu này: ‘Hãy tự nhổ gốc lên và xuống trồng dưới biển!’ thì nó cũng vâng lệnh các con.
7 Ai trong các con có một đầy tớ đi cày hoặc đi chăn, khi nó ở ngoài đồng về, lại bảo nó: ‘Vào ngồi ăn ngay đi!’ 8 Chẳng phải các con bảo nó như thế này sao? ‘Hãy dọn cơm và thắt lưng hầu bàn cho ta ăn uống xong, rồi con hãy ăn uống?’ 9 Người chủ có cám ơn đầy tớ vì nó vâng lệnh không? 10 Các con cũng thế, khi làm xong những điều dặn bảo, hãy nói: ‘Chúng con là những đầy tớ vô dụng, chỉ làm bổn phận[b] của chúng con.’ ”
Mười Người Phung Được Lành Bệnh
11 Trên đường lên Giê-ru-sa-lem, Đức Giê-su đi qua miền giáp ranh giữa hai miền Sa-ma-ri và Ga-li-lê. 12 Khi Ngài vào một làng kia, có mười người phung[c] ra đón. Họ đứng đàng xa, 13 lên tiếng kêu xin: “Lạy Thầy[d] Giê-su, xin thương xót chúng con!”
14 Thấy vậy, Ngài bảo: “Hãy đi trình diện với các thầy tế lễ!”[e] Khi họ đang đi, thì được sạch bệnh phung.
15 Một người trong nhóm thấy mình được chữa lành, quay lại, lớn tiếng tôn vinh Đức Chúa Trời, 16 rồi sấp mặt nơi chân Đức Giê-su mà cảm tạ Ngài; đó là một người Sa-ma-ri.
17 Đức Giê-su hỏi: “Không phải tất cả mười người đều được lành sao? Còn chín người kia đâu? 18 Không thấy ai quay lại tôn vinh Đức Chúa Trời, chỉ có người ngoại quốc này thôi sao?” 19 Rồi Ngài bảo người ấy: “Con hãy đứng dậy, về đi! Đức tin con đã chữa lành con!”
Nước Chúa Được Thiết Lập(B)
20 Các người Pha-ri-si hỏi Chúa: “Bao giờ Nước Đức Chúa Trời mới đến?”[f] Ngài đáp: “Nước Đức Chúa Trời không đến để người ta có thể quan sát được. 21 Không ai có thể nói: Kìa, Nước Đức Chúa Trời ở đây hoặc ở đó, vì kìa, Nước Đức Chúa Trời ở giữa vòng[g] các ông!”
22 Chúa bảo các môn đệ: “Sẽ có lúc các con mong được thấy một ngày[h] của Con Người mà không được. 23 Người ta sẽ bảo các con: ‘Kìa, Ngài ở đây!’ ‘Kìa, Ngài ở đó!’ Nhưng các con đừng đi, cũng đừng chạy theo! 24 Vì như tia chớp lòe sáng và chiếu rạng từ phương trời này đến phương trời kia thể nào, thì Con Người, trong ngày Ngài hiện ra cũng sẽ như thế. 25 Nhưng trước hết, Con Người phải chịu đau khổ đủ điều và bị thế hệ này loại bỏ.
26 Trong thời Nô-ê thể nào thì thời Con Người cũng thể ấy. 27 Người ta ăn, uống, cưới, gả cho đến ngày Nô-ê vào tàu và nước lụt tràn đến hủy diệt tất cả.
28 Thời của Lót cũng thế, người ta ăn, uống, mua, bán, trồng trọt, xây cất, 29 nhưng đến ngày Lót ra khỏi Sô-đôm, trời mưa lửa và diêm sinh xuống hủy diệt tất cả.
30 Ngày Con Người hiện đến[i] cũng giống như thế. 31 Trong ngày ấy, ai ở trên sân thượng có của cải trong nhà thì đừng xuống lấy; cũng vậy, ai ở ngoài đồng đừng quay về lấy của cải. 32 Hãy nhớ lại vợ của Lót! 33 Hễ ai tìm cách bảo tồn mạng sống thì sẽ mất; nhưng ai chịu mất mạng sống thì sẽ bảo toàn được nó. 34 Ta bảo các con, trong đêm ấy, 35 hai người nằm chung giường, một người sẽ được đem đi, người kia bị bỏ lại; 36 hai người nữ cùng xay cối, một người sẽ được đem đi, người kia bị bỏ lại.”[j]
37 Các môn đệ hỏi: “Thưa Chúa, việc ấy xảy ra tại đâu?” Ngài đáp: “Xác chết ở đâu, diều hâu bâu tại đó!”

17 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

17 Jesús les dijo a sus seguidores: «No se pueden evitar las causas del pecado, pero ¡pobre de aquel que las ocasione! 2 Sería mejor que lo tiraran al mar con una gran piedra de molino colgada al cuello, antes que hacer pecar a uno de estos mis seguidores a quienes es fácil hacerles daño. 3 ¡Tengan cuidado!
»Si tu hermano peca, repréndelo; y si está dispuesto a cambiar, perdónalo. 4 Si tu hermano te hace algo malo siete veces en un día y viene siete veces y te dice: “Lo lamento, perdóname”, perdónalo».
¿Cuánta fe tienes?
5 Entonces los apóstoles le dijeron al Señor:
—¡Danos más fe!
6 El Señor les dijo:
—Si ustedes tienen fe del tamaño de un grano de mostaza, podrán decirle a este árbol: “Levántate de ahí y plántate en el mar” y el árbol les obedecerá.
Sean buenos siervos
7 »Supongan que uno de ustedes tiene un siervo que ha estado arando o cuidando ovejas. Cuando regrese del campo, ¿acaso le dicen: “Ven y ocupa un lugar en la mesa”? 8 En vez de eso, ¿no le dicen: “Prepárame la cena y alístate para servirme. Después de que yo termine de comer, tú podrás comer y beber”? 9 A los siervos no hay que agradecerles por cumplir con lo que su patrón les ha mandado hacer. 10 Ustedes son como esos siervos. Cuando ustedes hagan todo lo que se les ha ordenado, deben decir: “No somos más que siervos sin mérito alguno, sólo hemos cumplido con nuestro deber”.
Jesús sana a un extranjero
11 Camino a Jerusalén, Jesús pasó por las regiones de Samaria y Galilea. 12 Al entrar a cierto pueblo, diez leprosos salieron a encontrarlo. Se quedaron parados a lo lejos, 13 y le dijeron en voz alta:
—¡Jesús, Maestro, por Dios, ayúdanos!
14 Al verlos, Jesús les dijo:
—Vayan y preséntense ante los sacerdotes.
Mientras iban a los sacerdotes, fueron sanados.[a] 15 Cuando uno de ellos vio que había sanado, regresó a donde estaba Jesús, dando gritos de alabanza a Dios. 16 Se postró rostro en tierra ante Jesús y le dio las gracias. Este hombre era un samaritano. 17 Jesús respondió:
—Diez hombres fueron sanados, ¿dónde están los otros nueve? 18 ¿Ninguno regresó a darle gracias a Dios sino este extranjero?
19 Entonces Jesús le dijo:
—Levántate y vete, porque tu fe te ha sanado.
El reino de Dios está en ustedes
(Mt 24:23-28, 37-41)
20 Unos fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús:
—¿Cuándo vendrá el reino de Dios?
Jesús les dijo:
—El reino de Dios no va a venir en forma visible. 21 La gente no dirá: “Está aquí” o “Está allí”. En realidad, Dios ya reina entre ustedes.
22 Entonces Jesús les dijo a sus seguidores:
—Vienen días en que ustedes querrán verme aparecer aunque sea un día en mi gloria como Hijo del hombre, pero no lo haré. 23 La gente les dirá: “Miren, allí está” o “Miren, aquí está”, pero no vayan allá ni los sigan. 24 Ustedes sabrán cuándo volverá de nuevo el Hijo del hombre. Su venida será como un relámpago que ilumina todo el cielo de un extremo al otro. 25 Sin embargo, primero él tiene que sufrir mucho y ser rechazado por esta generación.
26 »Tal como pasó en los días de Noé, así pasará en los días del Hijo del hombre: 27 la gente comía, bebía, se casaba y daba a sus hijos en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca. Entonces llegó el diluvio y los mató a todos.
28 »Será tal como pasó en los días de Lot: comían, bebían, compraban, vendían, sembraban y construían. 29 Pero el día en que Lot salió y se fue de Sodoma, llovió fuego y azufre del cielo y los mató a todos. 30 Pasará lo mismo el día en que el Hijo del hombre sea revelado.
31 »Ese día, si alguien está en el techo de su casa y todo lo que tiene está abajo en la casa, que no baje a buscarlo. Igualmente, si alguien está en el campo, que no regrese.
32 »Recuerden lo que le pasó a la esposa de Lot[b]. 33 El que busque salvar su vida, la perderá; y el que pierda su vida, la salvará. 34 Yo les digo, esa noche habrá dos personas durmiendo en una cama; una será llevada y la otra será dejada. 35 Dos mujeres estarán moliendo juntas; una será llevada y la otra será dejada. 36 [c]
37 Los seguidores le preguntaron a Jesús:
—Señor, ¿dónde pasará todo esto?
Él les respondió:
—Donde esté el cadáver, allí se juntarán también los buitres.
