Nếu Không Ăn Năn Sẽ Bị Chết Mất
13 Chính lúc ấy, có vài người ở đó thuật cho Đức Giê-su nghe vụ Phi-lát giết mấy người Ga-li-lê lấy máu trộn với tế lễ của họ. 2 Ngài đáp: “Các ngươi tưởng những người Ga-li-lê ấy phạm tội nặng hơn tất cả đồng hương[a] họ nên bị tàn sát sao? 3 Ta bảo thật, không phải đâu! Nhưng nếu các ngươi chẳng ăn năn thì tất cả sẽ bị hư mất như vậy. 4 Hoặc mười tám người kia bị tháp Si-lô-ê đổ xuống đè chết, các ngươi tưởng họ phạm tội nặng hơn dân chúng Giê-ru-sa-lem sao? 5 Ta bảo thật, không phải đâu! Nhưng nếu các ngươi chẳng ăn năn, thì tất cả sẽ bị hư mất như vậy.”
Ngụ Ngôn Về Cây Vả Không Trái
6 Đức Giê-su lại kể ngụ ngôn này: “Người kia trồng cây vả trong vườn nho mình, nhưng khi đến hái trái lại chẳng tìm được quả nào. 7 Chủ bèn bảo người trồng nho: ‘Đã ba năm ta đến tìm quả nơi cây vả này, nhưng chẳng thấy gì cả. Vậy hãy đốn cây ấy đi! Sao để nó chiếm đất mà không sinh hoa lợi?’
8 Nhưng người trồng nho thưa: ‘Thưa chủ, xin cứ để yên nó thêm một năm này nữa, để tôi sẽ đào đất xung quanh và bón phân vào. 9 Có lẽ trong tương lai, nó sẽ ra trái;[b] nếu không, thì chủ sẽ đốn!’ ”
Chữa Lành Người Đàn Bà Trong Ngày Sa-bát
10 Đức Giê-su đang dạy dỗ trong một hội đường vào ngày Sa-bát. 11 Kìa, có một người đàn bà vì bị quỷ ám sinh bệnh đã mười tám năm, lưng còng xuống không thể đứng thẳng lên được. 12 Thấy bà, Đức Giê-su gọi tới bảo: “Bà ơi, bà đã được giải thoát khỏi bệnh tật rồi!” 13 Được Ngài đặt tay, bà lập tức đứng thẳng lên và ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời.
14 Nổi giận vì thấy Ngài chữa bệnh trong ngày Sa-bát, viên quản lý hội đường bảo đoàn dân: “Đã có sáu ngày để làm việc trong tuần lễ. Vậy anh em hãy đến chữa bệnh[c] vào những ngày ấy, chứ đừng chữa bệnh vào ngày Sa-bát.”
15 Chúa đáp: “Các người đạo đức giả! Vào ngày Sa-bát, không phải tất cả các ngươi đều thả bò lừa khỏi chuồng và dẫn chúng đi uống nước sao? 16 Thế mà bà này là một con gái của Áp-ra-ham đã bị Sa-tan trói buộc suốt mười tám năm, lại không cần được giải phóng khỏi xiềng xích nó vào ngày Sa-bát sao?”
17 Nghe Ngài giải đáp, tất cả bọn chống đối Ngài hổ thẹn, còn toàn thể dân chúng đều mừng rỡ về mọi việc vinh quang Ngài thực hiện.
Hạt Cải Và Men(A)
18 Vì thế, Đức Giê-su dạy: “Nước Đức Chúa Trời ví như điều gì, Ta có thể lấy chi mà ví sánh? 19 Nước Đức Chúa Trời ví như hạt cải người kia đem gieo trong vườn mình. Nó mọc lên thành cây; chim trời làm tổ trên cành nó.”
20 Ngài lại bảo: “Ta sẽ ví Nước Đức Chúa Trời với điều gì? 21 Nước Đức Chúa Trời ví như men mà một người đàn bà đem trộn[d] vào ba đấu bột cho đến khi cả đống bột đều dậy lên.”
Cửa Hẹp(B)
22 Trên đường lên Giê-ru-sa-lem, Đức Giê-su đi qua các thành, các làng mạc dạy dỗ. 23 Một người hỏi: “Lạy Chúa, có phải chỉ có ít người được cứu không?”
Ngài nói cùng họ: 24 “Hãy nỗ lực vào cửa hẹp, vì Ta bảo các ngươi, nhiều người sẽ tìm cách vào nhưng không vào được. 25 Đến khi chủ nhà đứng dậy đóng cửa, các ngươi mới đứng bên ngoài gõ cửa và nói: ‘Thưa chủ, xin mở cửa cho chúng tôi!’ Nhưng chủ sẽ đáp: ‘Ta không biết các ngươi từ đâu đến!’
26 Lúc ấy các người ấy thưa: ‘Chúng tôi đã ăn uống trước mặt chủ, và chủ đã dạy dỗ trên các đường phố của chúng tôi!’
27 Nhưng chủ sẽ bảo các ngươi: ‘Ta không biết các ngươi từ đâu đến! Hãy lui ra khỏi ta, tất cả quân gian ác kia!’
28 Các ngươi sẽ than khóc và rên siết khi thấy Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, Gia-cốp, và tất cả các tiên tri của Chúa trong Nước Đức Chúa Trời, còn các ngươi phải bị quăng ra ngoài. 29 Những người từ đông, tây, nam, bắc sẽ đến ngồi dự yến tiệc trong Nước Đức Chúa Trời; 30 Thật thế,[e] người cuối sẽ trở nên đầu và người đứng đầu sẽ trở nên cuối.”
Chúa Than Vãn Về Thành Phố Giê-ru-sa-lem(C)
31 Ngay giờ ấy, vài người Pha-ri-si đến thưa với Đức Giê-su: “Thầy nên bỏ đây mà đi nơi khác, vì vua Hê-rốt muốn giết Thầy!”
32 Ngài đáp: “Hãy đi bảo con cáo ấy rằng: ‘Ngày nay, ngày mai, Ta vẫn đuổi quỷ, chữa bệnh và ngày kia thì Ta sẽ hoàn thành công tác.’ 33 Tuy nhiên, ngày nay, ngày mai và ngày kia Ta cần phải tiếp tục cuộc hành trình, vì một tiên tri của Chúa không thể chết bên ngoài thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.
34 Giê-ru-sa-lem! Giê-ru-sa-lem! Ngươi giết các tiên tri và ném đá các sứ giả Ta sai đến cùng ngươi. Repent or Perish
13 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had [a]mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree
6 He also spoke this parable: (A)“A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it [b]use up the ground?’ 8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9 [c]And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can (B)cut it down.’ ”
A Spirit of Infirmity
10 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way [d]raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your (C)infirmity.” 13 (D)And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had (E)healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, (F)“There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and (G)not on the Sabbath day.”
15 The Lord then answered him and said, [e]“Hypocrite! (H)Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? 16 So ought not this woman, (I)being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” 17 And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were (J)done by Him.
The Parable of the Mustard Seed(K)
18 (L)Then He said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a [f]large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.”
The Parable of the Leaven(M)
20 And again He said, “To what shall I liken the kingdom of God? 21 It is like [g]leaven, which a woman took and hid in three (N)measures[h] of meal till it was all leavened.”
The Narrow Way(O)
22 (P)And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. 23 Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there (Q)few who are saved?”
And He said to them, 24 (R)“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for (S)many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 (T)When once the Master of the house has risen up and (U)shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, (V)‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, (W)‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ 26 then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ 27 (X)But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. (Y)Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ 28 (Z)There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, (AA)when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. 29 They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 (AB)And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”
31 [i]On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, “Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You.”
32 And He said to them, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day (AC)I shall be [j]perfected.’ 33 Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.
Jesus Laments over Jerusalem(AD)
34 (AE)“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! 35 See! (AF)Your house is left to you desolate; and [k]assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, (AG)‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”

13 Just då kom några och berättade för Jesus om de galileer som Pilatus hade dödat medan de offrade i templet.
2 Jesus frågade då: ”Tror ni att dessa galileer var större syndare än de andra i Galileen? Var det därför de fick lida? 3 Nej! Men jag säger er att om ni inte vänder om, så ska ni också mista livet[a].
4 Och hur var det med de arton människor som dog när tornet i Siloa föll över dem? Var de större syndare än alla andra i Jerusalem? 5 Nej! Men jag säger er att om ni inte vänder om, så ska ni också mista livet.”
6 Sedan berättade han en liknelse: ”En man planterade ett fikonträd i sin vingård. Sedan kom han för att se om det fanns någon frukt på det, men han hittade ingen. 7 Till sist bad han sin trädgårdsmästare att hugga ner trädet. ’Jag har i tre år kommit och letat efter frukt på det, utan att finna någonting’, sa han. ’Varför låta det ta upp näring ur jorden?’ 8 Men trädgårdsmästaren bad: ’Herre, låt det stå kvar ett år till, så ska jag gräva runt det och ge det gödning. 9 Kanske blir det fikon på det nästa år. Jesus botar en kvinna på sabbaten
10 En sabbat när Jesus undervisade i synagogan, 11 fanns där en kvinna som var handikappad på grund av en ande. Hon hade gått framåtböjd i arton år, och kunde inte räta på ryggen.
12 När Jesus fick se henne, kallade han på henne och sa: ”Kvinna, du är fri från din sjukdom!” 13 Sedan lade han händerna på henne, och genast rätade hon på ryggen och började hylla Gud.
14 Men synagogföreståndaren blev arg över att Jesus botade henne på sabbaten. ”Det finns sex dagar i veckan då man får arbeta”, sa han till folket. ”Ni kan komma och bli botade på dem, men inte på sabbaten!”
15 Då svarade Jesus: ”Ni hycklare! Finns det någon av er här som inte löser sin oxe eller åsna från krubban också på sabbaten och leder ut den och ger den vatten? 16 Men här har vi en Abrahams dotter som Satan hållit bunden i arton år, och så skulle hon inte få bli löst från sin boja bara för att det är sabbat!”
17 Det fick hans fiender att skämmas, men folket gladde sig över de stora under han gjorde.
Liknelsen om senapsfröet och om surdegen
(Matt 13:31-33; Mark 4:30-32)
18 Sedan sa han: ”Hur ska vi beskriva Guds rike? Vilken liknelse ska jag använda? 19 Det är som ett senapsfrö som en man sådde i sin trädgård. Det växte och blev till ett träd, där fåglarna kunde bygga bo bland grenarna.” 20 Åter frågade han: ”Vad ska jag jämföra Guds rike med? 21 Det är som när en kvinna blandar in surdeg i tre mått mjöl, så att hela degen blir syrad.”
Den trånga porten
(Matt 7:13-14; 7:2-23; 8:11-12)
22 På sin väg mot Jerusalem gick Jesus genom olika städer och byar och undervisade. 23 Och någon frågade honom: ”Herre, är det bara några få som blir räddade?”
Jesus sa då till dem: 24 ”Kämpa för att komma in genom den trånga porten. Jag säger er, att många ska försöka komma in men inte lyckas. 25 Och när husets herre väl har stigit upp och låst porten och ni då står utanför och bankar och ropar: ’Herre, öppna för oss!’, så ska han svara: ’Jag vet inte vilka eller varifrån ni är!’
26 Då säger ni: ’Men vi har ju ätit och druckit tillsammans med dig. Och du undervisade på våra gator!’
27 Men han ska svara: ’Jag känner er inte och vet inte varifrån ni är! Försvinn härifrån, alla ni orättens hantlangare!’
28 Där ska ni gråta och skära tänder när ni blir utestängda från Guds rike och ser Abraham, Isak och Jakob därinne tillsammans med alla profeterna. 29 Och människor ska komma från öster och väster, norr och söder och ta plats vid måltiden i Guds rike. 30 Då ska de som är sist bli först, och de som är först bli sist.”
Jesus sörjer över Jerusalem

31 Just då kom några fariseer till honom och sa: ”Gå genast härifrån, för Herodes tänker döda dig!”
32 Jesus svarade: ”Hälsa den räven[b] att jag driver ut onda andar och botar sjuka idag och imorgon, och att jag på den tredje dagen når mitt mål. 33 Ja, idag, imorgon och i övermorgon måste jag fortsätta min vandring, för en profet kan inte bli dödad någon annanstans än i Jerusalem.
34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, du som mördar profeterna och stenar dem som sänts till dig! Hur ofta har jag inte velat samla dina barn, precis som hönan samlar sina kycklingar under vingarna, men ni ville inte. 35 Nu får ni själva ta hand om ert övergivna hus. Jag säger er: ni kommer inte att få se mig igen förrän ni säger: ’Välsignad är han som kommer i Herrens namn.[c]’ ”

8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman on the Sabbath
10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,(G) 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years.(H) She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her,(I) and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath,(J) the synagogue leader(K) said to the people, “There are six days for work.(L) So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?(M) 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham,(N) whom Satan(O) has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated,(P) but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast(Q)(R)
18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God(S) like?(T) What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree,(U) and the birds perched in its branches.”(V)
20 Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds[a] of flour until it worked all through the dough.”(W)
The Narrow Door
22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.(X) 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door,(Y) because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’(Z)
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’(AA)
28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth,(AB) when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west(AC) and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”(AD)
Jesus’ Sorrow for Jerusalem(AE)(AF)
31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod(AG) wants to kill you.”
32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’(AH) 33 In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet(AI) can die outside Jerusalem!
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,(AJ) and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate.(AK) I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[b]”(AL)
