Nếu Không Ăn Năn Sẽ Bị Chết Mất
13 Chính lúc ấy, có vài người ở đó thuật cho Đức Giê-su nghe vụ Phi-lát giết mấy người Ga-li-lê lấy máu trộn với tế lễ của họ. 2 Ngài đáp: “Các ngươi tưởng những người Ga-li-lê ấy phạm tội nặng hơn tất cả đồng hương[a] họ nên bị tàn sát sao? 3 Ta bảo thật, không phải đâu! Nhưng nếu các ngươi chẳng ăn năn thì tất cả sẽ bị hư mất như vậy. 4 Hoặc mười tám người kia bị tháp Si-lô-ê đổ xuống đè chết, các ngươi tưởng họ phạm tội nặng hơn dân chúng Giê-ru-sa-lem sao? 5 Ta bảo thật, không phải đâu! Nhưng nếu các ngươi chẳng ăn năn, thì tất cả sẽ bị hư mất như vậy.”
Ngụ Ngôn Về Cây Vả Không Trái
6 Đức Giê-su lại kể ngụ ngôn này: “Người kia trồng cây vả trong vườn nho mình, nhưng khi đến hái trái lại chẳng tìm được quả nào. 7 Chủ bèn bảo người trồng nho: ‘Đã ba năm ta đến tìm quả nơi cây vả này, nhưng chẳng thấy gì cả. Vậy hãy đốn cây ấy đi! Sao để nó chiếm đất mà không sinh hoa lợi?’
8 Nhưng người trồng nho thưa: ‘Thưa chủ, xin cứ để yên nó thêm một năm này nữa, để tôi sẽ đào đất xung quanh và bón phân vào. 9 Có lẽ trong tương lai, nó sẽ ra trái;[b] nếu không, thì chủ sẽ đốn!’ ”
Chữa Lành Người Đàn Bà Trong Ngày Sa-bát
10 Đức Giê-su đang dạy dỗ trong một hội đường vào ngày Sa-bát. 11 Kìa, có một người đàn bà vì bị quỷ ám sinh bệnh đã mười tám năm, lưng còng xuống không thể đứng thẳng lên được. 12 Thấy bà, Đức Giê-su gọi tới bảo: “Bà ơi, bà đã được giải thoát khỏi bệnh tật rồi!” 13 Được Ngài đặt tay, bà lập tức đứng thẳng lên và ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời.
14 Nổi giận vì thấy Ngài chữa bệnh trong ngày Sa-bát, viên quản lý hội đường bảo đoàn dân: “Đã có sáu ngày để làm việc trong tuần lễ. Vậy anh em hãy đến chữa bệnh[c] vào những ngày ấy, chứ đừng chữa bệnh vào ngày Sa-bát.”
15 Chúa đáp: “Các người đạo đức giả! Vào ngày Sa-bát, không phải tất cả các ngươi đều thả bò lừa khỏi chuồng và dẫn chúng đi uống nước sao? 16 Thế mà bà này là một con gái của Áp-ra-ham đã bị Sa-tan trói buộc suốt mười tám năm, lại không cần được giải phóng khỏi xiềng xích nó vào ngày Sa-bát sao?”
17 Nghe Ngài giải đáp, tất cả bọn chống đối Ngài hổ thẹn, còn toàn thể dân chúng đều mừng rỡ về mọi việc vinh quang Ngài thực hiện.

18 Vì thế, Đức Giê-su dạy: “Nước Đức Chúa Trời ví như điều gì, Ta có thể lấy chi mà ví sánh? 19 Nước Đức Chúa Trời ví như hạt cải người kia đem gieo trong vườn mình. Nó mọc lên thành cây; chim trời làm tổ trên cành nó.”
20 Ngài lại bảo: “Ta sẽ ví Nước Đức Chúa Trời với điều gì? 21 Nước Đức Chúa Trời ví như men mà một người đàn bà đem trộn[d] vào ba đấu bột cho đến khi cả đống bột đều dậy lên.”

22 Trên đường lên Giê-ru-sa-lem, Đức Giê-su đi qua các thành, các làng mạc dạy dỗ. 23 Một người hỏi: “Lạy Chúa, có phải chỉ có ít người được cứu không?”
Ngài nói cùng họ: 24 “Hãy nỗ lực vào cửa hẹp, vì Ta bảo các ngươi, nhiều người sẽ tìm cách vào nhưng không vào được. 25 Đến khi chủ nhà đứng dậy đóng cửa, các ngươi mới đứng bên ngoài gõ cửa và nói: ‘Thưa chủ, xin mở cửa cho chúng tôi!’ Nhưng chủ sẽ đáp: ‘Ta không biết các ngươi từ đâu đến!’
26 Lúc ấy các người ấy thưa: ‘Chúng tôi đã ăn uống trước mặt chủ, và chủ đã dạy dỗ trên các đường phố của chúng tôi!’
27 Nhưng chủ sẽ bảo các ngươi: ‘Ta không biết các ngươi từ đâu đến! Hãy lui ra khỏi ta, tất cả quân gian ác kia!’
28 Các ngươi sẽ than khóc và rên siết khi thấy Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, Gia-cốp, và tất cả các tiên tri của Chúa trong Nước Đức Chúa Trời, còn các ngươi phải bị quăng ra ngoài. 29 Những người từ đông, tây, nam, bắc sẽ đến ngồi dự yến tiệc trong Nước Đức Chúa Trời; 30 Thật thế,[e] người cuối sẽ trở nên đầu và người đứng đầu sẽ trở nên cuối.”
Chúa Than Vãn Về Thành Phố Giê-ru-sa-lem(C)
31 Ngay giờ ấy, vài người Pha-ri-si đến thưa với Đức Giê-su: “Thầy nên bỏ đây mà đi nơi khác, vì vua Hê-rốt muốn giết Thầy!”
32 Ngài đáp: “Hãy đi bảo con cáo ấy rằng: ‘Ngày nay, ngày mai, Ta vẫn đuổi quỷ, chữa bệnh và ngày kia thì Ta sẽ hoàn thành công tác.’ 33 Tuy nhiên, ngày nay, ngày mai và ngày kia Ta cần phải tiếp tục cuộc hành trình, vì một tiên tri của Chúa không thể chết bên ngoài thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.
34 Giê-ru-sa-lem! Giê-ru-sa-lem! Ngươi giết các tiên tri và ném đá các sứ giả Ta sai đến cùng ngươi. Bao lần Ta ước muốn tập họp đàn con ngươi như gà mẹ túc con mình lại để ấp ủ dưới cánh, mà các ngươi không chịu! 35 Này, nhà cửa các ngươi sẽ bị bỏ hoang! La nécessité d’un profond changement
13 A cette époque survinrent quelques personnes qui informèrent Jésus que Pilate avait fait tuer des Galiléens pendant qu’ils offraient leurs sacrifices.
2 Jésus leur dit : Pensez-vous que ces Galiléens ont subi un sort si cruel parce qu’ils étaient de plus grands pécheurs que tous leurs compatriotes ? 3 Non, je vous le dis ; mais vous, si vous ne changez pas, vous périrez tous, vous aussi.
4 Rappelez-vous ces dix-huit personnes qui ont été tuées quand la tour de Siloé[a] s’est effondrée sur elles. Croyez-vous qu’elles aient été plus coupables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem ? 5 Non, je vous le dis ; mais vous aussi, si vous ne changez pas, vous périrez tous.
6 Là-dessus, il leur raconta cette parabole : Un homme avait un figuier dans sa vigne. Un jour, il voulut y cueillir des figues, mais n’en trouva pas. 7 Il dit alors à celui qui s’occupait de sa vigne : « Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher des figues sur cet arbre, sans pouvoir en trouver. Coupe-le ; je ne vois pas pourquoi il occupe la place inutilement. » 8 « Maître, lui répondit l’homme, laisse-le encore cette année ! Je bêcherai encore la terre tout autour et j’y mettrai du fumier ; 9 peut-être qu’il portera du fruit à la saison prochaine. Sinon, tu le feras couper. »
Une guérison le jour du sabbat
10 Un jour de sabbat, Jésus enseignait dans une synagogue. 11 Il s’y trouvait une femme qui, depuis dix-huit ans, était sous l’emprise d’un esprit qui la rendait infirme : elle était voûtée et n’arrivait absolument pas à se redresser. 12 Lorsque Jésus la vit, il l’appela et lui dit : Femme, tu es délivrée de ton infirmité !
13 Il posa ses mains sur elle et, immédiatement, elle se redressa et se mit à louer Dieu.
14 Mais le responsable de la synagogue fut fâché que Jésus ait fait cette guérison le jour du sabbat. S’adressant à la foule, il lui dit : Il y a six jours pour travailler : venez donc vous faire guérir ces jours-là, mais pas le jour du sabbat !
15 Le Seigneur lui répondit : Hypocrites que vous êtes ! Chacun de vous ne détache-t-il pas son bœuf ou son âne de la mangeoire pour le mener à l’abreuvoir le jour du sabbat ? 16 Et cette femme, qui est une fille d’Abraham, et que Satan tenait en son pouvoir depuis dix-huit ans, fallait-il ne pas la délivrer de sa chaîne aujourd’hui parce que c’est le jour du sabbat ?
17 Cette réponse de Jésus remplit de confusion tous ceux qui avaient pris parti contre lui, tandis que le peuple était enthousiasmé de le voir accomplir tant d’œuvres merveilleuses.
Les paraboles de la graine de moutarde et du levain(A)
18 Jésus dit alors : A quoi ressemble le royaume de Dieu ? A quoi pourrais-je le comparer ? 19 Il ressemble à une graine de moutarde qu’un homme a prise pour la semer dans son jardin ; la graine pousse jusqu’à devenir un arbuste, et les oiseaux du ciel nichent dans ses branches.
20 Puis il ajouta : A quoi comparerai-je encore le royaume de Dieu ? 21 Il ressemble à du levain qu’une femme a pris pour le mélanger à une vingtaine de kilogrammes de farine. Et à la fin, toute la pâte a levé.
L’entrée dans le royaume
22 Jésus traversait ainsi les villes et les villages ; il y enseignait, tout en se dirigeant vers Jérusalem.

23 Quelqu’un lui demanda : Seigneur, n’y a-t-il qu’un petit nombre de gens qui seront sauvés ?
Il répondit en s’adressant à tous ceux qui étaient là : 24 Faites tous vos efforts pour entrer par la porte étroite, car nombreux sont ceux qui chercheront à entrer et n’y parviendront pas.
(Mt 25.10-12)
25 Dès que le maître de la maison se sera levé et qu’il aura fermé la porte à clé, si vous êtes restés dehors, vous aurez beau frapper à la porte en suppliant : « Seigneur, Seigneur, ouvre-nous ! » il vous répondra : « Je ne sais pas d’où vous venez. »
(Mt 7.22-23)
26 Alors vous direz : « Mais nous étions à table avec toi, nous avons mangé et bu sous tes yeux. Tu as enseigné dans nos rues… »
27 Il vous répondra : « Je ne sais pas d’où vous venez. Allez-vous-en, vous qui commettez le mal. »
28 C’est là qu’il y aura des pleurs et d’amers regrets, quand vous verrez Abraham, Isaac et Jacob et tous les prophètes dans le royaume de Dieu, tandis que vous-mêmes vous en serez exclus. 29 Des hommes viendront de l’Orient et de l’Occident, du Nord et du Midi, et prendront place à table dans le royaume de Dieu.
30 Alors, certains de ceux qui sont les derniers seront les premiers ; et certains de ceux qui sont les premiers seront les derniers.
Jésus poursuit sa route vers Jérusalem
31 A ce moment-là, quelques pharisiens s’approchèrent de Jésus et l’avertirent : Tu devrais quitter cette région et aller loin d’ici, car Hérode veut te faire mourir.
32 Mais Jésus leur répondit : Allez dire de ma part à ce renard : « Aujourd’hui, je chasse des démons et je guéris des malades ; demain, je ferai de même et après-demain, j’aurai achevé ma tâche. 33 Mais il faut que je poursuive ma route aujourd’hui, demain et après-demain, car il est impensable qu’un prophète soit mis à mort ailleurs qu’à Jérusalem ! »
(Mt 23.37-39)
34 Ah, Jérusalem ! Jérusalem ! Toi qui fais mourir les prophètes et qui lapides ceux que Dieu t’envoie ! Combien de fois j’ai voulu rassembler tes habitants auprès de moi comme une poule rassemble ses poussins sous ses ailes ! Mais vous ne l’avez pas voulu ! 35 Eh bien, maintenant, votre maison va être livrée à l’abandon. Oui, je vous le déclare : dorénavant vous ne me verrez plus jusqu’à ce que le temps soit arrivé où vous direz[b] : Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur[c]!

Người ấy đến hái trái, nhưng chẳng thấy trái nào. 7 Vì thế ông nói với người làm vườn, ‘Anh coi, đã ba năm nay, tôi ra cây vả này tìm trái nhưng chẳng thấy trái nào. Vậy hãy đốn nó đi. Tại sao để nó choán đất?’ 8 Nhưng người làm vườn nói, ‘Thưa chủ, xin chủ để yên nó thêm một năm này nữa. Tôi sẽ đào xung quanh gốc nó và bón phân vào. 9 Có lẽ năm tới nó sẽ ra trái, còn không, xin chủ cứ cho đốn.’”
Chúa Chữa Lành Người Ðàn Bà Bị Còng Lưng
10 Một ngày Sa-bát nọ Ngài giảng dạy trong một hội đường. 11 Này, tại đó có một bà bị quỷ hại phải tàn tật đã mười tám năm. Bà cứ khòm lưng mãi chứ không thể đứng thẳng lên được. 12 Ðức Chúa Jesus thấy bà, Ngài gọi bà lại và nói, “Này bà, bà đã được giải thoát khỏi tật nguyền.” 13 Ngài đặt tay trên bà, lập tức bà đứng thẳng lên và bắt đầu tôn vinh Ðức Chúa Trời.
14 Nhưng người quản lý hội đường nổi giận vì Ðức Chúa Jesus chữa bịnh trong ngày Sa-bát. Ông nói với đám đông, “Có sáu ngày để làm việc. Muốn được chữa bịnh, hãy đến vào những ngày đó; đừng đến trong ngày Sa-bát.”
15 Nhưng Chúa trả lời ông và nói, “Hỡi các ngươi, những kẻ đạo đức giả! Có ai trong các ngươi trong ngày Sa-bát không mở dây cho bò hay lừa của mình rời máng cỏ để dắt nó đi uống nước chăng? 16 Vậy tại sao con gái của Áp-ra-ham này đã bị Sa-tan trói buộc mười tám năm nay lại không được mở trói để hưởng tự do trong ngày Sa-bát?”
17 Sau khi Ngài nói như vậy, những kẻ chống đối Ngài cảm thấy xấu hổ, còn mọi người trong đám đông đều vui mừng vì những việc vinh diệu Ngài làm.

Hãy rời khỏi ta, hỡi những kẻ làm việc gian tà.’ 28 Bấy giờ sẽ có khóc lóc và nghiến răng khi các ngươi thấy Áp-ra-ham, I-sác, Gia-cốp, và các tiên tri được ở trong vương quốc Ðức Chúa Trời, còn các ngươi lại bị ném ra ngoài. 29 Khi ấy người ta từ phương đông, phương tây, phương bắc, và phương nam sẽ đến ngồi dự tiệc trong vương quốc Ðức Chúa Trời. 30 Này, có những kẻ cuối sẽ lên đầu và những kẻ đầu sẽ thành cuối.”

31 Ngay lúc đó có mấy người Pha-ri-si đến nói với Ngài, “Thầy nên rời khỏi nơi này, vì Hê-rốt[a] muốn giết Thầy đó.”
32 Ngài nói với họ, “Hãy đi nói với con chồn cáo ấy, ‘Hôm nay và ngày mai Ta đuổi quỷ và chữa bịnh, ngày thứ ba Ta sẽ hoàn tất công việc của Ta.’ 33 Nhưng hôm nay, ngày mai, và ngày mốt Ta phải tiếp tục cuộc hành trình, vì một tiên tri không thể chết bên ngoài Giê-ru-sa-lem.”

16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

13 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate(A) had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?(B) 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam(C) fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent,(D) you too will all perish.”
6 Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.(E) 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down!(F) Why should it use up the soil?’
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman on the Sabbath
10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,(G) 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years.(H) She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her,(I) and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath,(J) the synagogue leader(K) said to the people, “There are six days for work.(L) So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?(M) 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham,(N) whom Satan(O) has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated,(P) but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast(Q)(R)
18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God(S) like?(T) What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree,(U) and the birds perched in its branches.”(V)
20 Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds[a] of flour until it worked all through the dough.”(W)
The Narrow Door
22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.(X) 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door,(Y) because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’(Z)
26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’(AA)
28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth,(AB) when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west(AC) and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. 30 Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”(AD)
Jesus’ Sorrow for Jerusalem(AE)(AF)
31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod(AG) wants to kill you.”
32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’(AH) 33 In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet(AI) can die outside Jerusalem!
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings,(AJ) and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate.(AK) I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[b]”(AL)
