Aaron’s Priesthood Inaugurated
9 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. 2 He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord. 3 And say to the people of Israel, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering; a calf and a lamb, yearlings without blemish, for a burnt offering; 4 and an ox and a ram for an offering of well-being to sacrifice before the Lord; and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the Lord will appear to you.’” 5 They brought what Moses commanded to the front of the tent of meeting; and the whole congregation drew near and stood before the Lord. 6 And Moses said, “This is the thing that the Lord commanded you to do, so that the glory of the Lord may appear to you.” 7 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Draw near to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people; and sacrifice the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as the Lord has commanded.”
8 Aaron drew near to the altar, and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. 9 The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar; and the rest of the blood he poured out at the base of the altar. 10 But the fat, the kidneys, and the appendage of the liver from the sin offering he turned into smoke on the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses; 11 and the flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.
12 Then he slaughtered the burnt offering. Aaron’s sons brought him the blood, and he dashed it against all sides of the altar. 13 And they brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, and the head, which he turned into smoke on the altar. 14 He washed the entrails and the legs and, with the burnt offering, turned them into smoke on the altar.
15 Next he presented the people’s offering. He took the goat of the sin offering that was for the people, and slaughtered it, and presented it as a sin offering like the first one. 16 He presented the burnt offering, and sacrificed it according to regulation. 17 He presented the grain offering, and, taking a handful of it, he turned it into smoke on the altar, in addition to the burnt offering of the morning.
18 He slaughtered the ox and the ram as a sacrifice of well-being for the people. Aaron’s sons brought him the blood, which he dashed against all sides of the altar, 19 and the fat of the ox and of the ram—the broad tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the two kidneys and the fat on them,[a] and the appendage of the liver. 20 They first laid the fat on the breasts, and the fat was turned into smoke on the altar; 21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron raised as an elevation offering before the Lord, as Moses had commanded.
22 Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them; and he came down after sacrificing the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the offering of well-being. 23 Moses and Aaron entered the tent of meeting, and then came out and blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. 24 Fire came out from the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

9 (A)L’ottavo giorno Mosè chiamò Aaronne, i suoi figli e gli anziani d’Israele, 2 e disse ad Aaronne: «Prendi un vitello giovane per un sacrificio espiatorio e un montone per un olocausto, entrambi senza difetto, e offrili al Signore. 3 Dirai così ai figli d’Israele: “Prendete un capro per un sacrificio espiatorio, un vitello e un agnello entrambi di un anno, senza difetto, per un olocausto, 4 un bue e un montone per un sacrificio di riconoscenza, per sacrificarli davanti al Signore, e un’oblazione intrisa d’olio; perché oggi il Signore vi apparirà”».
5 Essi dunque portarono davanti alla tenda di convegno le cose che Mosè aveva ordinate; e tutta la comunità si avvicinò e rimase in piedi davanti al Signore. 6 Mosè disse: «Questo è quello che il Signore vi ha ordinato; fatelo e la gloria del Signore vi apparirà». 7 Mosè disse ad Aaronne: «Avvicìnati all’altare; offri il tuo sacrificio espiatorio e il tuo olocausto, fa’ l’espiazione per te e per il popolo; presenta anche l’offerta del popolo e fa’ l’espiazione per esso, come il Signore ha ordinato».
8 Aaronne dunque si avvicinò all’altare e sgozzò il vitello del proprio sacrificio espiatorio. 9 I suoi figli gli porsero il sangue ed egli vi intinse il dito, ne mise sui corni dell’altare e sparse il resto del sangue ai piedi dell’altare; 10 ma il grasso, i rognoni e la rete del fegato della vittima espiatoria li fece bruciare sull’altare, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè. 11 La carne e la pelle le bruciò fuori dell’accampamento.
12 Poi sgozzò l’olocausto; i figli di Aaronne gli porsero il sangue ed egli lo sparse sull’altare da ogni lato. 13 Gli porsero pure l’olocausto fatto a pezzi e la testa; ed egli li fece bruciare sull’altare. 14 Lavò le interiora e le zampe, e le fece bruciare sull’olocausto, sopra l’altare.
15 Poi presentò l’offerta del popolo. Prese il capro destinato al sacrificio espiatorio per il popolo, lo sgozzò e offrì il sacrificio di espiazione, come la prima volta. 16 Poi offrì l’olocausto, sacrificandolo secondo la regola stabilita. 17 Presentò quindi l’oblazione; ne prese una manciata piena e la fece bruciare sull’altare, oltre all’olocausto della mattina. 18 Sgozzò il bue e il montone, come sacrificio di riconoscenza per il popolo. I figli di Aaronne gli porsero il sangue ed egli lo sparse sull’altare, da ogni lato. 19 Gli porsero il grasso del bue e del montone, la coda, il grasso che copre le interiora, i rognoni e la rete del fegato. 20 Misero le parti di grasso sui petti ed egli le fece bruciare sull’altare; 21 i petti e la coscia destra Aaronne li agitò davanti al Signore come offerta agitata, nel modo in cui Mosè aveva ordinato.
22 (B)Poi Aaronne alzò le mani verso il popolo e lo benedisse; e, dopo aver fatto il sacrificio espiatorio, l’olocausto e i sacrifici di riconoscenza, scese giù dall’altare.
23 Mosè e Aaronne entrarono nella tenda di convegno; poi uscirono e benedissero il popolo; e la gloria del Signore apparve a tutto il popolo. 24 Un fuoco uscì dalla presenza del Signore e consumò sull’altare l’olocausto e i grassi; tutto il popolo lo vide, emise grida di esultanza e si prostrò con la faccia a terra.

2 und sprach zu Aaron: Nimm zu dir ein junges Kalb zum Sündopfer und einen Widder zum Brandopfer, beide ohne Fehl, und bringe sie vor den Herrn.
3 Und rede mit den Kindern Israel und sprich: Nehmt einen Ziegenbock zum Sündopfer und ein Kalb und ein Schaf, beide ein Jahr alt und ohne Fehl, zum Brandopfer
4 und einen Ochsen und einen Widder zum Dankopfer, daß wir dem HERRN opfern, und ein Speisopfer, mit Öl gemengt. Denn heute wird euch der HERR erscheinen.
5 Und sie nahmen, was Mose geboten hatte, vor der Tür der Hütte des Stifts; und es trat herzu die ganze Gemeinde und stand vor dem HERRN.
6 Da sprach Mose: Das ist's, was der HERR geboten hat, daß ihr es tun sollt, so wird euch des HERRN Herrlichkeit erscheinen.
7 Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Tritt zum Altar und mache dein Sündopfer und dein Brandopfer und versöhne dich und das Volk; darnach mache des Volkes Opfer und versöhne sie auch, wie der HERR geboten hat.
8 Und Aaron trat zum Altar und schlachtete das Kalb zu seinem Sündopfer.
9 Und seine Söhne brachten das Blut zu ihm, und er tauchte mit seinem Finger ins Blut und tat's auf die Hörner des Altars und goß das Blut an des Altars Boden.
10 Aber das Fett und die Nieren und das Netz von der Leber am Sündopfer zündete er an auf dem Altar, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
11 Und das Fleisch und das Fell verbrannte er mit Feuer draußen vor dem Lager.
12 Darnach schlachtete er das Brandopfer; und Aarons Söhne brachten das Blut zu ihm, und er sprengte es auf den Altar umher.
13 Und sie brachten das Brandopfer zu ihm zerstückt und den Kopf; und er zündete es an auf dem Altar.
14 Und er wusch das Eingeweide und die Schenkel und zündete es an oben auf dem Brandopfer auf dem Altar.
15 Darnach brachte er herzu des Volks Opfer und nahm den Bock, das Sündopfer des Volks, und schlachtete ihn und machte ein Sündopfer daraus wie das vorige.
16 Und brachte das Brandopfer herzu und tat damit, wie es recht war.
17 Und brachte herzu das Speisopfer und nahm seine Hand voll und zündete es an auf dem Altar, außer dem Morgenbrandopfer.
18 Darnach schlachtete er den Ochsen und den Widder zum Dankopfer des Volks; und seine Söhne brachten ihm das Blut, das sprengte er auf dem Altar umher.
19 Aber das Fett vom Ochsen und vom Widder, den Schwanz und das Fett am Eingeweide und die Nieren und das Netz über der Leber:
20 alles solches Fett legten sie auf die Brust; und er zündete das Fett an auf dem Altar.
21 Aber die Brust und die rechte Schulter webte Aaron zum Webopfer vor dem HERRN, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
22 Und Aaron hob seine Hand auf zum Volk und segnete sie; und er stieg herab, da er das Sündopfer, Brandopfer und Dankopfer gemacht hatte.
23 Und Mose und Aaron gingen in die Hütte des Stifts; und da sie wieder herausgingen, segneten sie das Volk. Da erschien die Herrlichkeit des HERRN allem Volk.
24 Und ein Feuer ging aus von dem HERRN und verzehrte auf dem Altar das Brandopfer und das Fett. Da das alles Volk sah, frohlockten sie und fielen auf ihr Antlitz.

9 A nyolcadik napon Mózes szólította Áront és fiait, meg Izráel vezetőit. 2 Ezt mondta Áronnak: „Válassz egy bikaborjút vétekáldozatnak, és egy kost égőáldozatnak. Mind a kettő ép és egészséges legyen. Ezeket áldozd föl az Örökkévalónak.
3 Szólj Izráel népének, hogy válasszanak ki egy kecskebakot a vétekáldozathoz, meg egy borjút és egy bárányt — mindegyik egy éves legyen — égőáldozatnak. Mindegyik áldozati állat ép és egészséges legyen. 4 Ezen kívül hozzanak egy bikát és egy kost hálaáldozatul az Örökkévalónak, meg lisztáldozatot, olívaolajjal keverve —, mert ma az Örökkévaló meg fog jelenni nektek.”
5 Ekkor az egész nép odagyűlt a Találkozás Sátora elé, hozták mindazt, amit Mózes parancsolt, és megálltak az Örökkévaló előtt. 6 Mózes azt mondta nekik: „Tegyétek meg, amit az Örökkévaló parancsolt, s akkor meg fogjátok látni az Örökkévaló dicsőségét!”
7 Áronnak pedig ezt mondta Mózes: „Menj oda az oltárhoz, és mutasd be a vétekáldozatot és az égőáldozatot — végezz engesztelést magadért és a népért. Azután mutasd be a nép áldozatát is, végezz engesztelést értük is. Mindent úgy tegyél, ahogy az Örökkévaló parancsolta.”
8 Akkor Áron odament az oltárhoz, és levágta a bikaborjút a saját vétekáldozatához. 9 Áron fiai felfogták a vért, és odanyújtották az edényt Áronnak, aki belemártotta ujját a vérbe, és megkente az oltár szarvait vele. A vér többi részét Áron az oltár tövéhez öntötte. 10 Majd a vétekáldozat zsíros részeit, a veséket és a máj zsíros részét elégette az oltár tüzén, ahogy az Örökkévaló parancsolta. 11 Az áldozati állat húsát és bőrét pedig elégette a táboron kívül.
12 Azután Áron levágta az égőáldozati kost, Áron fiai felfogták a vért, és odanyújtották az edényt Áronnak, aki a vért körös-körül az oltárra hintette. 13-14 Majd Áron fiai apjuk kezébe adogatták a részeire vágott áldozati állat fejét és többi részeit. 18 Bemutatta a nép hálaáldozatát is. Levágta Áron a bikát és a kost. A zsíros részeket elégette az oltár tüzén, 21 a mellrészt pedig a hátsó jobb combokkal együtt felmutatta az Örökkévalónak, ahogy azt Mózes meghagyta — így lett az felmutatott áldozat az Örökkévalónak.
22 Amikor Áron elvégezte a vétekáldozat, az égőáldozat és a hálaáldozat bemutatását, fölemelte két kezét a nép fölé, és megáldotta őket. Azután lejött az oltártól.
23 Mózes és Áron ezután bement a Találkozás Sátorába. Miután kijöttek onnan, együtt megáldották a népet. Ekkor megjelent az Örökkévaló dicsősége az egész nép szeme láttára. 24 Akkor az Örökkévalótól tűz jött ki, és megemésztette az oltáron lévő égőáldozatot és zsíros részeket. 9 Le huitième jour[a], Moïse appela Aaron et ses fils et les responsables d’Israël. 2 Il dit à Aaron : Prends un jeune veau pour le sacrifice pour le péché et un bélier pour l’holocauste, tous deux sans défaut. Tu les offriras devant l’Eternel. 3 Puis tu diras aux Israélites : « Prenez un bouc destiné au sacrifice pour le péché, un veau et un agneau sans défaut, dans sa première année, pour l’holocauste, 4 un taureau et un bélier qui seront immolés devant l’Eternel en sacrifice de communion accompagnés d’offrande de farine pétrie à l’huile ; car aujourd’hui l’Eternel vous apparaîtra. »
5 Ils amenèrent devant la tente de la Rencontre tout ce que Moïse avait demandé. Toute la communauté s’approcha et se tint debout devant l’Eternel. 6 Moïse dit : Voici ce que l’Eternel vous ordonne ; faites-le, et la gloire de l’Eternel vous apparaîtra.
7 S’adressant à Aaron, il poursuivit : Approche-toi de l’autel ; offre ton sacrifice pour le péché et ton holocauste, tu accompliras ainsi le rite d’expiation pour toi et pour le peuple ; offre aussi les sacrifices et les offrandes du peuple et accomplis le rite d’expiation pour lui, comme l’Eternel l’a ordonné[b].
8 Aaron s’approcha de l’autel et il égorgea le veau de son sacrifice pour le péché. 9 Ses fils lui présentèrent le sang de l’animal ; il y trempa son doigt et en appliqua sur les cornes de l’autel, puis il répandit le reste sur le socle de l’autel. 10 Il brûla sur l’autel la graisse, les rognons et le dessus du foie de l’animal offert en sacrifice pour le péché, comme l’Eternel l’avait ordonné à Moïse. 11 Il brûla sa viande et sa peau à l’extérieur du camp.
12 Puis il immola l’holocauste. Ses fils lui présentèrent le sang, et il en aspergea tous les côtés de l’autel. 13 Ils lui remirent aussi l’holocauste découpé en quartiers, avec la tête. Il les brûla sur l’autel. 14 Il lava les entrailles et les pattes, et les fit brûler avec l’holocauste sur l’autel.
15 Après cela, il présenta les offrandes du peuple. Il prit le bouc du sacrifice pour le péché du peuple ; il l’immola et l’offrit pour expier le péché, comme il avait fait pour la première victime. 16 Il offrit l’holocauste en se conformant aux règles. 17 Il y joignit l’offrande : il en prit une pleine poignée qu’il fit brûler sur l’autel, en plus de l’holocauste du matin. 18 Il immola le taureau et le bélier en sacrifice de communion pour le peuple. Ses fils lui présentèrent le sang dont il aspergea l’autel sur tous ses côtés. 19 Ils lui remirent aussi les parties grasses du taureau et du bélier, la queue, la graisse qui recouvre les entrailles, les rognons et le dessus du foie. 20 Ils posèrent les graisses sur les poitrines des deux animaux, et Aaron brûla les graisses sur l’autel. 21 Il fit avec les poitrines et le gigot droit le geste de présentation devant l’Eternel, comme Moïse l’avait ordonné.
22 Puis Aaron leva ses mains vers le peuple et le bénit ; il redescendit de l’autel après avoir offert le sacrifice pour le péché, l’holocauste et le sacrifice de communion.
23 Moïse et Aaron entrèrent dans la tente de la Rencontre, puis ils ressortirent et bénirent le peuple. Alors la gloire de l’Eternel apparut à tout le peuple. 24 Une flamme jaillit devant l’Eternel et consuma l’holocauste et les graisses sur l’autel. A cette vue, tout le peuple poussa des cris de joie et se jeta face contre terre.
