The Priest’s Portion of the Fellowship Offering

28 The Lord spoke to Moses 29 and told him to tell the Israelites these things:

Anyone who presents his sacrifice as a fellowship offering to the Lord shall bring some of his fellowship sacrifice as an offering to the Lord. 30 His own hands must bring the gifts made by fire to the Lord. He shall bring the fat on the breast in order to offer the breast as a wave offering to the Lord. 31 The priest shall turn the fat into smoke on the altar, but the breast shall belong to Aaron and his sons. 32 You shall give the right thigh to the priest as an elevated offering from your fellowship sacrifices. 33 The right thigh shall be the portion that belongs to the son of Aaron who offers the blood and the fat of the fellowship offering. 34 For from the Israelites I have taken the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the elevated offering[a] from their fellowship sacrifices, and I have assigned them to Aaron the priest and to his sons from the Israelites as a perpetual regulation.

35 This is the assigned share for Aaron and the assigned share for his sons from the offerings made to the Lord by fire[b] from the day when he presents them to serve the Lord as priests. 36 It is the share which the Lord commands the Israelites to give them from the day when he anoints them. It is a permanent regulation throughout their generations.

Portions of Fellowship Offerings for Priests

28 Then[a] Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 29 “Speak to the Israelites,[b] saying, ‘The one who presents his fellowship offerings’ sacrifice for Yahweh shall bring his offering to Yahweh from his fellowship offerings’ sacrifice. 30 His own hands must bring Yahweh’s offerings made by fire. He must bring the fat in addition to the breast section to wave the breast section as a wave offering before Yahweh, 31 and the priest shall turn the fat into smoke on the altar, and the breast section shall be for Aaron and his[c] sons. 32 And the right upper thigh you[d] must give as a contribution for the priest from your[e] fellowship offerings’ sacrifice. 33 As for the one from Aaron’s sons who presents the blood of the fellowship offerings and the fat, the right upper thigh shall belong to him[f] as his share, 34 because I have taken the wave offering’s breast section and the contribution offering’s upper thigh from the Israelites[g] out of their fellowship offerings’ sacrifices, and I have given them to Aaron the priest and his[h] sons from the Israelites[i] as a lasting rule.’”

35 This is Aaron’s allotted portion and his sons’ allotted portion from Yahweh’s offerings made by fire when[j] he brought them forward to serve as priests for Yahweh. 36 This is what Yahweh commanded to give them from the Israelites[k] on the day of his anointing them; it is a lasting statute for their generations.
