[a]Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, (A)If a person sins and acts unfaithfully against Yahweh and deals falsely with his companion in regard to a deposit or a security entrusted to him or through robbery, or if he has extorted from his companion, or (B)has found what was lost and dealt falsely about it and sworn falsely, so that he sins in regard to any one of the things a man may do; then it shall be, when he sins and becomes guilty, that he shall (C)return what he took by robbery or what he got by extortion, or the deposit which was [b]entrusted to him or the lost thing which he found, or anything about which he swore falsely; (D)he shall make restitution for it [c]in full and add to it one-fifth more. (E)He shall give it to the one to whom it belongs on the day he presents his guilt offering. Then he shall bring to the priest his guilt offering to Yahweh, (F)a ram without blemish from the flock, according to your valuation, for a guilt offering, and (G)the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh, and he will be forgiven for any one of the things which he may have done to incur guilt.”

Statutes for the Priest in the Offerings

[d]Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Command Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is (H)the law for the burnt offering: the burnt offering itself shall remain on the hearth on the altar all night until the morning, and (I)the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. 10 And the priest shall put on (J)his linen robe, and he shall put on undergarments next to his flesh; and he shall raise up the [e]ashes to which the fire [f]reduces the burnt offering on the altar and place them beside the altar. 11 Then he shall take off his garments and put on other garments and carry the [g]ashes outside the camp to a clean place. 12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not go out, but the priest shall burn wood on it every morning; and he shall lay out the burnt offering on it and offer up in smoke the fat portions of the peace offerings (K)on it. 13 Fire shall be kept burning continually on the altar; it shall not go out.

14 ‘Now this is the law of the grain offering: the sons of Aaron shall bring it near before Yahweh in front of the altar. 15 (L)Then one of them shall raise up from it a handful of the fine flour of the grain offering, [h]with its oil and all the frankincense that is on the grain offering, and he shall offer it up in smoke on the altar, a soothing aroma, as its memorial offering to Yahweh. 16 (M)What is left of it Aaron and his sons shall eat. It shall be eaten as unleavened cakes in a holy place; they shall eat it in the court of the tent of meeting. 17 (N)It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as their share from My offerings by fire; (O)it is most holy, like the sin offering and (P)the guilt offering. 18 (Q)Every male among the sons of Aaron may eat it; it is a perpetual statute throughout your generations, from the offerings by fire to Yahweh. (R)Whoever touches them will be set apart as holy.’”

19 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 20 “This is the offering which Aaron and his sons shall bring near to Yahweh on the day when he is anointed; the [i]tenth of an (S)ephah of fine flour as (T)a [j]regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening. 21 It shall be prepared with oil on a (U)griddle. When it is well stirred, you shall bring it. You shall bring near the grain offering in baked pieces as a soothing aroma to Yahweh. 22 And the anointed priest, who will be in his place [k]among his sons, shall [l]offer it. By a perpetual statute it shall be entirely offered up in smoke to Yahweh. 23 So every grain offering of the priest shall be burned entirely. It shall not be eaten.”

24 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 25 “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, ‘This is the law of the sin offering: (V)in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before Yahweh; it is most holy. 26 (W)The priest who offers it for sin shall eat it. It shall be eaten in a holy place, in the court of the tent of meeting. 27 (X)Anyone who touches its flesh will be set apart as holy; and when any of its blood sprinkles on a garment, in a holy place you shall wash what was sprinkled on. 28 Also (Y)the earthenware vessel in which it was boiled shall be broken; and if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then it shall be scoured and rinsed in water. 29 (Z)And every male among the priests may eat of it; (AA)it is most holy. 30 But no sin offering, (AB)of which any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement (AC)in the holy place, shall be eaten; (AD)it shall be burned with fire.

[a] The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “If anyone sins and (A)commits a breach of faith against the Lord by (B)deceiving his neighbor in (C)a matter of deposit or security, or through robbery, or (D)if he has oppressed his neighbor or (E)has found something lost and lied about it, (F)swearing falsely—in any of all the things that people do and sin thereby— if he has sinned and has realized his guilt and will restore (G)what he took by robbery or what he got by oppression or the deposit that was committed to him or the lost thing that he found or anything about which he has sworn falsely, he shall (H)restore it in full and shall add a fifth to it, and give it to him to whom it belongs on the day he realizes his guilt. And he shall bring to the priest as his compensation to the Lord (I)a ram without blemish out of the flock, or its equivalent, for a guilt offering. (J)And the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord, and he shall be forgiven for any of the things that one may do and thereby become guilty.”

The Priests and the Offerings

[b] The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering. The burnt offering shall be on the hearth on the altar all night until the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it. 10 And (K)the priest shall put on his linen garment and put his linen undergarment on his body, and he shall take up the ashes to which the fire has reduced the burnt offering on the altar and put them (L)beside the altar. 11 Then (M)he shall take off his garments and put on other garments and carry the ashes (N)outside the camp to a clean place. 12 The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not go out. The priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and he shall arrange the burnt offering on it and shall burn on it (O)the fat of the peace offerings. 13 Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

14 “And this is the law of (P)the grain offering. The sons of Aaron shall offer it before the Lord in front of the altar. 15 And one shall take from it a handful of the fine flour of the grain offering and its oil and all the frankincense that is on the grain offering and burn this as its (Q)memorial portion on the altar, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 16 And (R)the rest of it Aaron and his sons shall eat. It shall be eaten unleavened (S)in a holy place. In the court of the tent of meeting they shall eat it. 17 (T)It shall not be baked with leaven. (U)I have given it as their portion of my food offerings. (V)It is a thing most holy, like the sin offering and the guilt offering. 18 Every male among the children of Aaron may eat of it, as decreed forever throughout your generations, from the Lord's food offerings. Whatever touches them shall become holy.”

19 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 20 (W)“This is the offering that Aaron and his sons shall offer to the Lord on the day when he is anointed: a (X)tenth of an ephah[c] of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening. 21 It shall be made with oil (Y)on a griddle. You shall bring it (Z)well mixed, in baked[d] pieces like a grain offering, and offer it for a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 22 The priest from among Aaron's sons, who is anointed to succeed him, shall offer it to the Lord as decreed forever. (AA)The whole of it shall be burned. 23 Every grain offering of a priest shall be wholly burned. It shall not be eaten.”

24 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 25 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, (AB)This is the law of the sin offering. (AC)In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the Lord; (AD)it is most holy. 26 (AE)The priest who offers it for sin shall eat it. (AF)In a holy place it shall be eaten, in the court of the tent of meeting. 27 Whatever touches its flesh shall be holy, and when any of its blood is splashed on a garment, you shall wash that on which it was splashed in a holy place. 28 And (AG)the earthenware vessel in which it is boiled (AH)shall be broken.
