He shall bring[a] them to the priest, and he shall present that which is for the sin offering first, and the priest[b] shall wring its head off at the back of its neck,[c] but[d] he must not sever it, and he shall spatter some of[e] the sin offering’s blood on the altar’s side, and the leftover blood must be drained out on the altar’s base; it is a sin offering. 10 The second[f] bird he must prepare as a burnt offering according to the regulation, and the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin that he has committed,[g] and he shall be forgiven.

He is to wring its head from its neck,(A) not dividing it completely,(B) and is to splash(C) some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar;(D) the rest of the blood must be drained out at the base of the altar.(E) It is a sin offering. 10 The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way(F) and make atonement(G) for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.(H)
