Leviticus 4:24-26
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
24 He shall lay his hand on its head and it shall be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, before the Lord. It is a purification offering. 25 The priest shall then take some of the blood of the purification offering on his finger and put it on the horns(A) of the altar for burnt offerings. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. 26 All of its fat he shall burn on the altar like the fat of the communion sacrifice. Thus the priest shall make atonement on the tribal leader’s behalf for his wrong, that he may be forgiven.

New International Version
24 He is to lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the Lord.(A) It is a sin offering.(B) 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar(C) of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.(D) 26 He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement(E) for the leader’s sin, and he will be forgiven.(F)

It is a sin offering. 25 (B)The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. 26 And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, like (C)the fat of the sacrifice of the peace offering. (D)So the priest shall make [a]atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
