Laws for Fellowship Offerings

3 “‘Now if[a] his offering is a sacrifice of fellowship offering, if he brings it from the cattle,[b] whether male or female, he must bring it without defect before Yahweh. 2 He[c] must lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of assembly, and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around. 3 He shall present[d] from the sacrifice of the fellowship offering an offering made by fire for Yahweh consisting of[e] the fat covering the inner parts[f] and all the fat that is on the inner parts,[g] 4 the two kidneys,[h] and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. 5 Aaron’s sons shall turn it to smoke on the altar in addition to the burnt offering that is on the wood, which is on the fire; it is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

6 “‘But if his offering for a sacrifice of fellowship offering for Yahweh is from the flock,[i] he must bring a male or a female without defect. 7 If he brings a sheep as his offering, then[j] he shall present it before Yahweh, 8 and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. 9 He shall present[k] from the sacrifice of the fellowship offering an offering made by fire for Yahweh: he must remove its fat, the entire fat tail near the tailbone, and the fat covering the inner parts[l] and all the fat that is on the inner parts,[m] 10 the two kidneys,[n] and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. 11 The priest[o] shall turn it into smoke on the altar as a food offering made by fire for Yahweh.

12 “‘And[p] if his offering is a goat, then[q] he shall bring it before Yahweh, 13 and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. 14 He shall present[r] his offering from it as an offering made by fire for Yahweh: the fat covering the inner parts[s] and all the fat that is on the inner parts,[t] 15 the two kidneys,[u] and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. 16 The priest[v] shall turn them into smoke on the altar as a food offering;[w] all the fat is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. 17 This is[x] a lasting statute for your generations in all your dwellings: you must not eat any fat or any blood.’”

3 Lorsque quelqu'un offrira à l'Éternel un sacrifice d'actions de grâces: S'il offre du gros bétail, mâle ou femelle, il l'offrira sans défaut, devant l'Éternel.

2 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la victime, qu'il égorgera à l'entrée de la tente d'assignation; et les sacrificateurs, fils d'Aaron, répandront le sang sur l'autel tout autour.

3 De ce sacrifice d'actions de grâces, il offrira en sacrifice consumé par le feu devant l'Éternel: la graisse qui couvre les entrailles et toute celle qui y est attachée;

4 les deux rognons, et la graisse qui les entoure, qui couvre les flancs, et le grand lobe du foie, qu'il détachera près des rognons.

5 Les fils d'Aaron brûleront cela sur l'autel, par-dessus l'holocauste qui sera sur le bois mis au feu. C'est un sacrifice consumé par le feu, d'une agréable odeur à l'Éternel.

6 S'il offre du menu bétail, mâle ou femelle, en sacrifice d'actions de grâces à l'Éternel, il l'offrira sans défaut.

7 S'il offre en sacrifice un agneau, il le présentera devant l'Éternel.

8 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la victime, qu'il égorgera devant la tente d'assignation; et les fils d'Aaron en répandront le sang sur l'autel tout autour.

9 De ce sacrifice d'actions de grâces, il offrira en sacrifice consumé par le feu devant l'Éternel: la graisse, la queue entière, qu'il séparera près de l'échine, la graisse qui couvre les entrailles et toute celle qui y est attachée,

10 les deux rognons, et la graisse qui les entoure, qui couvre les flancs, et le grand lobe du foie, qu'il détachera près des rognons.

11 Le sacrificateur brûlera cela sur l'autel. C'est l'aliment d'un sacrifice consumé par le feu devant l'Éternel.

12 Si son offrande est une chèvre, il la présentera devant l'Éternel.

13 Il posera sa main sur la tête de sa victime, qu'il égorgera devant la tente d'assignation; et les fils d'Aaron en répandront le sang sur l'autel tout autour.

14 De la victime, il offrira en sacrifice consumé par le feu devant l'Éternel: la graisse qui couvre les entrailles et toute celle qui y est attachée,

15 les deux rognons, et la graisse qui les entoure, qui couvre les flancs, et le grand lobe du foie, qu'il détachera près des rognons.

16 Le sacrificateur brûlera cela sur l'autel. Toute la graisse est l'aliment d'un sacrifice consumé par le feu, d'une agréable odeur à l'Éternel.

17 C'est ici une loi perpétuelle pour vos descendants, dans tous les lieux où vous habiterez: vous ne mangerez ni graisse ni sang.

The Peace Offering

3 ‘When his offering is a (A)sacrifice of a peace offering, if he offers it of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it (B)without [a]blemish before the Lord. 2 And (C)he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of meeting; and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall (D)sprinkle the blood all around on the altar. 3 Then he shall offer from the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire to the Lord. (E)The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 4 the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; 5 and Aaron’s sons (F)shall burn it on the altar upon the (G)burnt sacrifice, which is on the wood that is on the fire, as an (H)offering made by fire, a (I)sweet aroma to the Lord.

6 ‘If his offering as a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord is of the flock, whether male or female, (J)he shall offer it without blemish. 7 If he offers a (K)lamb as his offering, then he shall (L)offer it (M)before the Lord. 8 And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of meeting; and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar.

9 ‘Then he shall offer from the sacrifice of the peace offering, as an offering made by fire to the Lord, its fat and the whole fat tail which he shall remove close to the backbone. And the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 10 the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; 11 and the priest shall burn them on the altar as (N)food, an offering made by fire to the Lord.

12 ‘And if his (O)offering is a goat, then (P)he shall offer it before the Lord. 13 He shall lay his hand on its head and kill it before the tabernacle of meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar. 14 Then he shall offer from it his offering, as an offering made by fire to the Lord. The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 15 the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove; 16 and the priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma; (Q)all the fat is the Lord’s.

17 ‘This shall be a (R)perpetual[b] statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor (S)blood.’ ”

3 “‘If your offering is a fellowship offering,(A) and you offer an animal from the herd, whether male or female, you are to present before the Lord an animal without defect.(B) 2 You are to lay your hand on the head(C) of your offering and slaughter it(D) at the entrance to the tent of meeting.(E) Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash(F) the blood against the sides(G) of the altar.(H) 3 From the fellowship offering you are to bring a food offering to the Lord: the internal organs(I) and all the fat(J) that is connected to them, 4 both kidneys(K) with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys. 5 Then Aaron’s sons(L) are to burn it on the altar(M) on top of the burnt offering(N) that is lying on the burning wood;(O) it is a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(P)

6 “‘If you offer an animal from the flock as a fellowship offering(Q) to the Lord, you are to offer a male or female without defect. 7 If you offer a lamb,(R) you are to present it before the Lord,(S) 8 lay your hand on its head and slaughter it(T) in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar. 9 From the fellowship offering you are to bring a food offering(U) to the Lord: its fat, the entire fat tail cut off close to the backbone, the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them, 10 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys. 11 The priest shall burn them on the altar(V) as a food offering(W) presented to the Lord.(X)

12 “‘If your offering is a goat,(Y) you are to present it before the Lord, 13 lay your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splash(Z) its blood against the sides of the altar.(AA) 14 From what you offer you are to present this food offering to the Lord: the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them, 15 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.(AB) 16 The priest shall burn them on the altar(AC) as a food offering,(AD) a pleasing aroma.(AE) All the fat(AF) is the Lord’s.(AG)

17 “‘This is a lasting ordinance(AH) for the generations to come,(AI) wherever you live:(AJ) You must not eat any fat or any blood.(AK)’”
