^28 (A)‘Nevertheless no ^[a]devoted offering that a man may devote to the Lord of all that he has, both man and beast, or the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted offering is most holy to the Lord.

¹⁷ Now the city shall be ^(A)doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only ^(B)Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because ^(C)she hid the messengers that we sent. ¹⁸ And you, ^(D)by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, ^(E)and trouble it. ¹⁹ But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are ^[a]consecrated to the Lord; they ^[b]shall come into the treasury of the Lord.”

^20 (A)“He who sacrifices to any god, except to the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

¹⁶ “But ^(A)of the cities of these peoples which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive, ¹⁷ but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, just as the Lord your God has commanded you,

²¹ but the field, ^(A)when it is released in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the Lord, as a ^(B)devoted field; it shall be ^(C)the possession of the priest.

¹⁹ Therefore it shall be, ^(A)when the Lord your God has given you rest from your enemies all around, in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, that you will ^(B)blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. You shall not forget.

¹² And when it was day, ^(A)some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had ^(B)killed Paul. ¹³ Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy. ¹⁴ They came to the chief priests and ^(C)elders, and said, “We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul.

¹⁸ Now the Lord sent you on a mission, and said, ‘Go, and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are ^[a]consumed.’

³⁰ And Jephthah ^(A)made a vow to the Lord, and said, “If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands, ³¹ then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, ^(B)shall surely be the Lord’s, ^(C)and I will offer it up as a burnt offering.”
