8 “You are to count seven sabbatical years, seven times seven years, so that the time period of the seven sabbatical years amounts to 49. 9 Then you are to sound a trumpet loudly in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month; you will sound it throughout your land on the Day of Atonement.(A) 10 You are to consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim freedom in the land for all its inhabitants. It will be your Jubilee,(B) when each of you is to return to his property and each of you to his clan. 11 The fiftieth year will be your Jubilee; you are not to sow, reap what grows by itself, or harvest its untended vines. 12 It is to be holy to you because it is the Jubilee; you may only eat its produce directly from the field.

8 “‘And you[a] shall count for yourself seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years, and they shall be for you time periods of[b] years: forty-nine[c] years. 9 And you[d] shall cause a loud horn blast[e] to be heard on the seventh month on the tenth of the month; on the Day of Atonement you[f] shall cause a ram’s horn to be heard in all your[g] land. 10 And you[h] shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and you shall proclaim a release in the land for all its inhabitants. It is a Jubilee; it shall be for you, and you shall return. You must return—everyone to his property and everyone to his clan.[i] 11 You[j] shall have the fiftieth year as a Jubilee;[k] you must not reap its aftergrowth, and you must not harvest its unpruned vines. 12 Because it is a Jubilee, it shall be holy to you. You must eat its[l] produce from the field.
