The Lamps and the Bread Before Yahweh

24 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you (A)clear oil from beaten olives for the [a]light, to make a lamp [b]burn continually. Outside the veil of testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations. He shall keep the lamps in order on the (B)pure gold lampstand before Yahweh continually.

(C)Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. And you shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the (D)pure gold table before Yahweh. And you shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be (E)a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to Yahweh. (F)Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh (G)continually; it is an everlasting covenant [c]for the sons of Israel. (H)And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the offerings to Yahweh by fire, his portion forever.”

Tabernacle Oil and Bread

24 The Lord spoke to Moses: “Command the Israelites to bring you pure oil from crushed olives for the light, in order to keep the lamp burning continually.(A) Aaron is to tend it continually from evening until morning before the Lord outside the veil(B) of the testimony(C) in the tent of meeting. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations. He must continually tend the lamps on the pure gold lampstand in the Lord’s presence.(D)

“Take fine flour and bake it into 12 loaves;(E) each loaf is to be made with four quarts.[a] Arrange them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table(F) before the Lord. Place pure frankincense(G) near each row, so that it may serve as a memorial portion(H) for the bread and a fire offering(I) to the Lord. The bread is to be set out before the Lord every Sabbath day as a perpetual covenant(J) obligation on the part of the Israelites. It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in a holy place, for it is the holiest portion for him from the fire offerings to the Lord; this is a permanent rule.”
