³¹ ‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after ^(A)them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

⁶ ‘And ^(A)the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter ^(A)pass^[a] through the fire, ^(B)or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, ^11 (C)or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or ^(D)one who calls up the dead. ¹² For all who do these things are ^[b]an abomination to the Lord, and ^(E)because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. ¹³ You shall be ^[c]blameless before the Lord your God. ¹⁴ For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not ^[d]appointed such for you.

The Great Apostasy

4 Now the Spirit ^[a]expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed ^(A)to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ^2 (B)speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience ^(C)seared with a hot iron,

⁷ Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. ^8 (A)He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, ^(B)that He might destroy the works of the devil.
