Leviticus 17:10-16
Christian Standard Bible
Eating Blood and Carcasses Prohibited
10 “Anyone from the house of Israel or from the aliens who reside among them who eats any blood,(A) I will turn[a] against that person who eats blood and cut him off from his people. 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have appointed it to you to make atonement on the altar for[b] your lives, since it is the lifeblood that makes atonement.(B) 12 Therefore I say to the Israelites: None of you and no alien who resides among you may eat blood.
13 “Any Israelite or alien residing among them, who hunts(C) down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten must drain its blood(D) and cover it with dirt. 14 Since the life of every creature is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You are not to eat the blood of any creature,(E) because the life of every creature is its blood; whoever eats it must be cut off.
15 “Every person, whether the native or the resident alien,(F) who eats an animal that died a natural death or was mauled by wild beasts(G) is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening; then he will be clean. 16 But if he does not wash his clothes and bathe himself, he will bear his iniquity.”

Lexham English Bible
10 And if there is anyone[a] from the house of Israel or[b] from the alien who is dwelling in their midst who eats any blood, then[c] I will set my face against the person who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people. 11 Indeed[d] the flesh’s life is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your lives, because it is the blood with the life that makes atonement. 12 Therefore[e] I said to the Israelites,[f] ‘None of you[g] may eat blood, nor[h] may the alien who is dwelling in your midst eat blood.’
13 “And if there is anyone[i] from the Israelites[j] or[k] from the alien who is dwelling in their midst who hunts a wild game animal or a bird that may be eaten, then[l] he shall pour out its blood, and he shall cover it with the soil. 14 Indeed,[m] the life of all flesh, its blood, is in its life, so[n] I said to the Israelites,[o] ‘You may not eat the blood of any flesh, because the life of all flesh is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.’
15 “And if there is any person who eats a dead body or[p] a mangled carcass, whether among the native or[q] among the alien, then[r] he shall wash his garments, and he shall wash himself[s] with water, and he shall be unclean until the evening, and he shall be clean. 16 But[t] if he does not wash his garments[u] and he does not wash his body, then[v] he shall bear his guilt.”
