Leviticus 16:11-13

New International Version

¹¹“Aaron shall bring the bull for his own sin offering to make atonement for himself and his household,^(A) and he is to slaughter the bull for his own sin offering. ¹²He is to take a censer full of burning coals^(B) from the altar before the Lord and two handfuls of finely ground fragrant incense^(C) and take them behind the curtain. ¹³He is to put the incense on the fire before the Lord, and the smoke of the incense will conceal the atonement cover^(D) above the tablets of the covenant law, so that he will not die.^(E)

¹¹“Then Aaron shall offer the bull of the ^[a]sin offering ^(A)which is for himself and make atonement for himself and ^(B)for his household, and he shall slaughter the bull of the ^[b]sin offering which is for himself. ¹²He shall take a ^(C)firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the Lord and ^[c]two handfuls of finely ground ^(D)sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil. ¹³He shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, so that the cloud of incense may cover the ^(E)atoning cover that is on the ark of the testimony, ^(F)otherwise he will die.
