De brand-offers
1 De Heer riep Mozes bij Zich in de tent van ontmoeting. Hij zei tegen hem: 2 "Geef de Israëlieten de volgende regels over de brand-offers.
Als iemand Mij een brand-offer wil brengen, dan moet hij een dier van zijn vee geven: een rund, een schaap of een geit.
3 Als hij een rund wil offeren, moet hij een gezonde jonge stier uitzoeken. Hij moet hem bij de ingang van de tent van ontmoeting offeren. Hij moet het dier vrijwillig en van harte offeren. 4 Hij moet zijn hand op de kop van het dier leggen.[a] Zo zal Ik de man vergeving kunnen geven voor wat hij verkeerd gedaan heeft. 5 Daarna moet hij de stier bij Mij slachten bij het altaar dat bij de ingang van de tent van ontmoeting staat. De zonen van Aäron, de priesters, moeten het bloed rondom tegen de zijkanten van het altaar werpen. 6 Daarna moet de man de huid van het dier afstropen en het dier in stukken snijden. 7 De priester moet hout op het vuur op het altaar leggen. 8 Op dat houtvuur moet hij de stukken vlees, de kop en het vet leggen. 9 De darmen en de poten moet hij met water wassen. Daarna moet de priester die op de andere stukken leggen en dan alles op het altaar verbranden. Als hij het zó doet, ben Ik blij met het offer.
10 Als hij een schaap of geit wil offeren, moet hij een gezond mannetjes-dier uitzoeken. 11 Hij moet het bij Mij slachten aan de noordkant van het altaar bij de ingang van de tent van ontmoeting. De priester moet het bloed rondom tegen de zijkanten van het altaar werpen. 12 Daarna moet de man het dier in stukken snijden. De priester moet de stukken vlees, de kop en het vet op het houtvuur op het altaar leggen. 13 De darmen en de poten moeten met water gewassen worden. Daarna moet de priester die op de andere stukken leggen en dan alles op het altaar verbranden. Als hij het zó doet, ben Ik blij met het offer.
14 Als hij Mij vogels wil offeren, moet hij daarvoor twee duiven nemen. 15 De priester moet bij het altaar de koppen eraf draaien en op het altaar verbranden. Hij moet tegen de zijkant van het altaar het bloed uit de lijfjes drukken. 16 Dan moet hij de krop uit de vogel halen en met de veren aan de oostkant naast het altaar op de ashoop gooien. 17 Hij moet de vleugels inscheuren, zonder ze van de lijfjes te trekken. Daarna moet de priester de vogels verbranden op het houtvuur op het altaar. Als hij het zó doet, ben Ik blij met het offer."[b]

1 And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.
4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
5 And he shall kill the bullock before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
6 And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
7 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
8 And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
9 But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
10 And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
12 And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
13 But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
14 And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the Lord be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
15 And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:
16 And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
17 And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

Then the priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt sacrifice, an (Q)offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.
14 ‘And if the burnt sacrifice of his offering to the Lord is of birds, then he shall bring his offering of (R)turtledoves or young pigeons. 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, [b]wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out at the side of the altar. 16 And he shall remove its crop with its feathers and cast it (S)beside the altar on the east side, into the place for ashes. 17 Then he shall split it at its wings, but (T)shall not divide it completely; and the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. Brännoffret
1 Herren kallade på Mose och talade till honom från uppenbarelsetältet. Han sade: 2 Säg till Israels barn: När någon bland er vill bära fram ett offer åt Herren, skall ni ta ert offer av boskapen, antingen av nötboskapen eller småboskapen.
3 Om han vill bära fram ett brännoffer från nötboskapen, skall han ta ett felfritt djur av hankön och föra fram det till uppenbarelsetältets ingång för att han skall räknas som välbehaglig inför Herrens ansikte. 4 Han skall lägga sin hand på brännoffersdjurets huvud, och det blir då välbehagligt och till försoning för honom. 5 Han skall slakta ungtjuren inför Herrens ansikte, och Arons söner, prästerna, skall bära fram blodet och stänka det runt omkring på det altare som står vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet. 6 Sedan skall han flå brännoffersdjuret och stycka det, 7 och prästen Arons söner skall göra upp eld på altaret och lägga ved på elden. 8 Sedan skall Arons söner, prästerna, lägga styckena, huvudet och fettet ovanpå veden som brinner på altaret. 9 Men inälvorna och fötterna skall tvättas i vatten och därefter skall prästen bränna alltsammans på altaret. Det är ett brännoffer, ett eldsoffer till en ljuvlig doft för Herren.
10 Om han vill bära fram ett brännoffer av småboskapen, av fåren eller getterna, skall han ta ett felfritt djur av hankön. 11 Han skall slakta det inför Herrens ansikte vid norra sidan av altaret, och Arons söner, prästerna, skall stänka blodet runt omkring på altaret. 12 Han skall stycka djuret i dess delar, tillsammans med huvudet och fettet, och prästen skall lägga dem ovanpå veden som brinner på altaret. 13 Men inälvorna och fötterna skall tvättas i vatten och därefter skall prästen offra alltsamman och bränna det på altaret. Det är ett brännoffer, ett eldsoffer till en ljuvlig doft för Herren.
14 Och om han vill bära fram åt Herren ett brännoffer av fåglar, skall han ta sitt offer av turturduvor eller unga duvor. 15 Prästen skall bära fram djuret till altaret och vrida huvudet av det och bränna det på altaret. Blodet skall kramas ut på altarets sida. 16 Men krävan med dess orenhet skall han ta ut och kasta på askhögen vid östra sidan av altaret. 17 Han skall fläka upp fågeln vid vingarna, dock utan att slita loss dem, och prästen skall bränna den på altaret, ovanpå veden som ligger på elden. Det är ett brännoffer, ett eldsoffer till en ljuvlig doft för Herren.
