^26 (A)And you shall not eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your places of habitation. ²⁷ Any person who eats any blood, even that person shall be cut off from his people.’”

²⁸ Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁹ “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘He who brings ^(B)the sacrifice of his peace offerings near to Yahweh shall bring his offering to Yahweh from the sacrifice of his peace offerings. ³⁰ His own hands are to bring offerings by fire to Yahweh. He shall bring the fat with the breast, that the ^(C)breast may be waved as a wave offering before Yahweh. ³¹ And the priest shall offer up the fat in smoke on the altar, but ^(D)the breast shall belong to Aaron and his sons. ³² And you shall give ^(E)the right thigh to the priest as a ^[a]contribution from the sacrifices of your peace offerings. ³³ The one among the sons of Aaron who brings near the blood of the peace offerings and the fat, the right thigh shall be his as his portion. ³⁴ For I have taken ^(F)the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the ^[b]contribution from the sons of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and I have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons as a perpetual statute taken from the sons of Israel.

³⁵ ‘This is ^[c]the share for Aaron and ^[d]the ^(G)share for his sons from the offerings by fire to Yahweh, in that day when he brought them near to minister as priests to Yahweh. ^36 [e]These Yahweh had commanded to be given them from the sons of Israel in the day that He ^(H)anointed them. It is a perpetual statute throughout their generations.’”

³⁷ This is the law of the burnt offering, the grain offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering and ^(I)the ordination offering and the sacrifice of peace offerings, ^38 (J)which Yahweh commanded Moses at Mount Sinai in the day that He commanded the sons of Israel to bring their offerings near to Yahweh in the wilderness of Sinai.

¹⁰ ‘^(A)And any man from the house of Israel, or from the sojourners who sojourn among them, who eats any blood, ^(B)I will set My face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from among his people. ¹¹ For ^(C)the ^[a]life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for ^(D)it is the blood that makes atonement by the ^[b]life.’ ¹² Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘No person among you may eat blood, and no sojourner who sojourns among you may eat blood.’ ¹³ So any man from the sons of Israel, or from the sojourners who sojourn among them, who in hunting catches a beast or a bird which may be eaten, ^(E)shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth.

¹⁴ “^(F)For as for the ^[c]life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its ^[d]life. Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘You are not to eat the blood of any flesh, for the ^[e]life of all flesh is its blood; whoever eats it shall be cut off.’ ^15 (G)And when any person eats an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, whether he is a native or a sojourner, he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water and remain unclean until evening; then he will become clean. ¹⁶ But if he does not wash them or bathe his body, then ^(H)he shall bear his ^[f]guilt.”

²⁶ ‘You shall not eat anything ^(A)with the blood nor interpret ^(B)omens or soothsaying.

^16 (A)Only you shall not eat the blood; ^(B)you are to pour it out on the ground like water.

²³ Only be strong in yourselves ^(A)not to eat the blood, for the blood is the ^[a]life, and you shall not eat the ^[b]life with the flesh.

²³ Only ^(A)you shall not eat its blood; you are to pour it out on the ground like water.

³⁴ And Saul said, “Scatter yourselves among the people and say to them, ‘Each one of you bring me his ox or his sheep, and slaughter it here and eat; and do not sin against Yahweh by eating with the blood.’” So all the people that night brought each one his ox ^[a]with him and slaughtered it there.

²⁰ but that we write to them that they abstain from ^(A)things contaminated by idols and from ^(B)sexual immorality and from ^(C)what is strangled and from blood.
