4 Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:
6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
7 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the Lord; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
8 And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it asunder:
9 And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin offering.
10 And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.
11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering.
12 Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: it is a sin offering.
13 And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him: and the remnant shall be the priest's, as a meat offering.

4 or if anyone thoughtlessly takes an oath(A) to do anything, whether good or evil(B) (in any matter one might carelessly swear about) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt— 5 when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess(C) in what way they have sinned. 6 As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat(D) from the flock as a sin offering[a];(E) and the priest shall make atonement(F) for them for their sin.
7 “‘Anyone who cannot afford(G) a lamb(H) is to bring two doves or two young pigeons(I) to the Lord as a penalty for their sin—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. 8 They are to bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one for the sin offering. He is to wring its head from its neck,(J) not dividing it completely,(K) 9 and is to splash(L) some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar;(M) the rest of the blood must be drained out at the base of the altar.(N) It is a sin offering. 10 The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way(O) and make atonement(P) for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.(Q)
11 “‘If, however, they cannot afford(R) two doves or two young pigeons,(S) they are to bring as an offering for their sin a tenth of an ephah[b](T) of the finest flour(U) for a sin offering. They must not put olive oil or incense on it, because it is a sin offering. 12 They are to bring it to the priest, who shall take a handful of it as a memorial[c] portion(V) and burn it on the altar(W) on top of the food offerings presented to the Lord. It is a sin offering. 13 In this way the priest will make atonement(X) for them for any of these sins they have committed, and they will be forgiven. The rest of the offering will belong to the priest,(Y) as in the case of the grain offering.(Z)’”
