²⁸ ‘Nevertheless, ^(A)anything which a man ^[a]devotes to Yahweh out of all that he has, of man or animal or of the fields of his own possession, shall not be sold or redeemed. Anything ^[b]devoted to destruction is most holy to Yahweh.

¹⁷ But you shall devote them to destruction, the Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, as Yahweh your God has commanded you,
