God’s Promises for Those Who Keep His Laws
26 ⌞The Lord continued,⌟ “Never make worthless idols or set up a carved statue or a sacred stone for yourselves. Never cut figures in stone to worship them in your country, because I am the Lord your God. 2 Observe my days of rest as holy days and respect my holy tent. I am the Lord.
3 “This is what I will do if you will live by my laws and carefully obey my commands:
4 “I will give you rain at the right time. The land will produce its crops, and the trees in the field will produce their fruit. 5 Threshing [a] time will last until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until planting. You will eat all you want and live securely in your land.
6 “I will bring peace to your land. You will lie down with no one to scare you. I will remove dangerous animals, and there will be no war in your land. 7 You will chase your enemies, and you will defeat them. 8 Five of you will chase a hundred of them, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand of them. You will defeat your enemies, 9 and I will be pleased with you. Your families will be large, and I will keep my promise [b] to you. 10 You will clear out old food supplies to make room for new ones.
11 “I will put my tent among you, and I will never look at you with disgust. 12 So I will live among you and be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God. I brought you out of Egypt so that you are no longer slaves of the Egyptians. I have broken their power over you and made you live as a free people.
God’s Curses for Those Who Break His Laws
14 “If you will not listen to me and obey all these commands, 15 if you reject my laws and look at my rules with disgust, if you reject my promise by disobeying my commands, 16 then this is what I will do to you: I will terrorize you with disease and fever. You will suffer from eye problems and depression. You will plant your crops and get nothing because your enemies will eat them. 17 I will condemn you so that you will go down in defeat in front of your enemies. Those who hate you will be your rulers. You will run away even when no one is chasing you.
18 “If you still will not listen to me, I will discipline you seven times for your sins. 19 I will crush your arrogance. You will have no rain, and your land will be as hard as cement. 20 You will work hard for nothing because your land will produce no crops and the trees will produce no fruit.

Blessings for Obedience
26 “You shall not make (A)idols for yourselves or erect an (B)image or (C)pillar, and you shall not set up a (D)figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God. 2 (E)You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
3 (F)“If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, 4 then (G)I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 (H)Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And (I)you shall eat your bread to the full and (J)dwell in your land securely. 6 (K)I will give peace in the land, and (L)you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And (M)I will remove harmful beasts from the land, (N)and the sword shall not go through your land. 7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 (O)Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9 (P)I will turn to you and (Q)make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you. 10 You shall eat (R)old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. 11 (S)I will make my dwelling[a] among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 (T)And I (U)will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13 (V)I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. (W)And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.
Punishment for Disobedience
14 (X)“But if you will not listen to me and will not do all these commandments, 15 if you spurn my statutes, and if your soul abhors my rules, so that you will not do all my commandments, but (Y)break my covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will visit you with panic, with (Z)wasting disease and fever that consume the eyes and make the heart ache. And (AA)you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will (AB)set my face against you, and (AC)you shall be struck down before your enemies. (AD)Those who hate you shall rule over you, and (AE)you shall flee when none pursues you. 18 And if in spite of this you will not listen to me, then I will discipline you again (AF)sevenfold for your sins, 19 and I will break (AG)the pride of your power, and I (AH)will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. 20 And (AI)your strength shall be spent in vain, for (AJ)your land shall not yield its increase, and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.

26 No haréis para vosotros ídolos,(A) ni escultura,(B) ni os levantaréis estatua, ni pondréis en vuestra tierra piedra pintada para inclinaros a ella; porque yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios. 2 Guardad mis días de reposo,[a] y tened en reverencia mi santuario. Yo Jehová.
3 Si anduviereis en mis decretos y guardareis mis mandamientos, y los pusiereis por obra, 4 yo daré vuestra lluvia en su tiempo, y la tierra rendirá sus productos, y el árbol del campo dará su fruto. 5 Vuestra trilla alcanzará a la vendimia, y la vendimia alcanzará a la sementera, y comeréis vuestro pan hasta saciaros,(C) y habitaréis seguros en vuestra tierra. 6 Y yo daré paz en la tierra, y dormiréis, y no habrá quien os espante; y haré quitar de vuestra tierra las malas bestias, y la espada no pasará por vuestro país. 7 Y perseguiréis a vuestros enemigos, y caerán a espada delante de vosotros. 8 Cinco de vosotros perseguirán a ciento, y ciento de vosotros perseguirán a diez mil, y vuestros enemigos caerán a filo de espada delante de vosotros. 9 Porque yo me volveré a vosotros, y os haré crecer, y os multiplicaré, y afirmaré mi pacto con vosotros. 10 Comeréis lo añejo de mucho tiempo, y pondréis fuera lo añejo para guardar lo nuevo. 11 Y pondré mi morada en medio de vosotros, y mi alma no os abominará; 12 y andaré entre vosotros, y yo seré vuestro Dios, y vosotros seréis mi pueblo.(D) 13 Yo Jehová vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto, para que no fueseis sus siervos, y rompí las coyundas de vuestro yugo, y os he hecho andar con el rostro erguido.

14 Pero si no me oyereis, ni hiciereis todos estos mis mandamientos, 15 y si desdeñareis mis decretos, y vuestra alma menospreciare mis estatutos, no ejecutando todos mis mandamientos, e invalidando mi pacto, 16 yo también haré con vosotros esto: enviaré sobre vosotros terror, extenuación y calentura, que consuman los ojos y atormenten el alma; y sembraréis en vano vuestra semilla, porque vuestros enemigos la comerán. 17 Pondré mi rostro contra vosotros, y seréis heridos delante de vuestros enemigos; y los que os aborrecen se enseñorearán de vosotros, y huiréis sin que haya quien os persiga. 18 Y si aun con estas cosas no me oyereis, yo volveré a castigaros siete veces más por vuestros pecados. 19 Y quebrantaré la soberbia de vuestro orgullo, y haré vuestro cielo como hierro, y vuestra tierra como bronce. 20 Vuestra fuerza se consumirá en vano, porque vuestra tierra no dará su producto, y los árboles de la tierra no darán su fruto.

2 Субботы Мои соблюдайте и святилище Мое чтите: Я Господь.
3 Если вы будете поступать по уставам Моим и заповеди Мои будете хранить и исполнять их,
4 то Я дам вам дожди в свое время, и земля даст произрастения свои, и дерева полевые дадут плод свой;
5 и молотьба [хлеба] будет достигать у вас собирания винограда, собирание винограда будет достигать посева, и будете есть хлеб свой досыта, и будете жить на земле [вашей] безопасно;
6 пошлю мир на землю [вашу], ляжете, и никто вас не обеспокоит, сгоню лютых зверей с земли [вашей], и меч не пройдет по земле вашей;
7 и будете прогонять врагов ваших, и падут они пред вами от меча;
8 пятеро из вас прогонят сто, и сто из вас прогонят тьму, и падут враги ваши пред вами от меча;
9 призрю на вас, и плодородными сделаю вас, и размножу вас, и буду тверд в завете Моем с вами;
10 и будете есть старое прошлогоднее, и выбросите старое ради нового;
11 и поставлю жилище Мое среди вас, и душа Моя не возгнушается вами;
12 и буду ходить среди вас и буду вашим Богом, а вы будете Моим народом.
13 Я Господь Бог ваш, Который вывел вас из земли Египетской, чтоб вы не были там рабами, и сокрушил узы ярма вашего, и повел вас с поднятою головою.
14 Если же не послушаете Меня и не будете исполнять всех заповедей сих,
15 и если презрите Мои постановления, и если душа ваша возгнушается Моими законами, так что вы не будете исполнять всех заповедей Моих, нарушив завет Мой, --
16 то и Я поступлю с вами так: пошлю на вас ужас, чахлость и горячку, от которых истомятся глаза и измучится душа, и будете сеять семена ваши напрасно, и враги ваши съедят их;
17 обращу лице Мое на вас, и падете пред врагами вашими, и будут господствовать над вами неприятели ваши, и побежите, когда никто не гонится за вами.
18 Если и при всем том не послушаете Меня, то Я всемеро увеличу наказание за грехи ваши,
19 и сломлю гордое упорство ваше, и небо ваше сделаю, как железо, и землю вашу, как медь;
20 и напрасно будет истощаться сила ваша, и земля ваша не даст произрастений своих, и дерева земли не дадут плодов своих.

18 Jesus asked, “What is God’s kingdom like? What can I compare it to? 19 It’s like a mustard seed that someone planted in a garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds nested in its branches.”
20 He asked again, “What can I compare God’s kingdom to? 21 It’s like yeast that a woman mixed into a large amount of flour until the yeast worked its way through all the dough.”
The Narrow Door
22 Then Jesus traveled and taught in one city and village after another on his way to Jerusalem.
23 Someone asked him, “Sir, are only a few people going to be saved?”
He answered, 24 “Try hard to enter through the narrow door. I can guarantee that many will try to enter, but they won’t succeed. 25 After the homeowner gets up and closes the door, ⌞it’s too late⌟. You can stand outside, knock at the door, and say, ‘Sir, open the door for us!’ But he will answer you, ‘I don’t know who you are.’ 26 Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 But he will tell you, ‘I don’t know who you are. Get away from me, all you evil people.’ 28 Then you will cry and be in extreme pain. That’s what you’ll do when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets. They’ll be in God’s kingdom, but you’ll be thrown out. 29 People will come from all over the world and will eat in God’s kingdom. 30 Some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last.”
Jesus Warns Jerusalem
31 At that time some Pharisees told Jesus, “Get out of here, and go somewhere else! Herod wants to kill you.”
32 Jesus said to them, “Tell that fox that I will force demons out of people and heal people today and tomorrow. I will finish my work on the third day. 33 But I must be on my way today, tomorrow, and the next day. It’s not possible for a prophet to die outside Jerusalem.
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you kill the prophets and stone to death those sent to you! How often I wanted to gather your children together the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings! But you were not willing! 35 Your house will be abandoned. I can guarantee that you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”

24 подвизайтесь войти сквозь тесные врата, ибо, сказываю вам, многие поищут войти, и не возмогут.
25 Когда хозяин дома встанет и затворит двери, тогда вы, стоя вне, станете стучать в двери и говорить: Господи! Господи! отвори нам; но Он скажет вам в ответ: не знаю вас, откуда вы.
26 Тогда станете говорить: мы ели и пили пред Тобою, и на улицах наших учил Ты.
27 Но Он скажет: говорю вам: не знаю вас, откуда вы; отойдите от Меня все делатели неправды.
28 Там будет плач и скрежет зубов, когда увидите Авраама, Исаака и Иакова и всех пророков в Царствии Божием, а себя изгоняемыми вон.
29 И придут от востока и запада, и севера и юга, и возлягут в Царствии Божием.
30 И вот, есть последние, которые будут первыми, и есть первые, которые будут последними.
31 В тот день пришли некоторые из фарисеев и говорили Ему: выйди и удались отсюда, ибо Ирод хочет убить Тебя.
32 И сказал им: пойдите, скажите этой лисице: се, изгоняю бесов и совершаю исцеления сегодня и завтра, и в третий [день] кончу;
33 а впрочем, Мне должно ходить сегодня, завтра и в последующий день, потому что не бывает, чтобы пророк погиб вне Иерусалима.
