²⁵ I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute ^(A)vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send a ^(B)plague among you, so that you will be handed over to the enemy.

¹² A third of you will die by ^(A)plague or perish by famine among you, a third will fall by the sword around you, and a third I will ^(B)scatter to every wind, and I will ^(C)unsheathe a sword behind them.

³ and say to the land of Israel, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Behold, ^(A)I am against you; and I will draw My sword from its sheath and cut off from you the ^(B)righteous and the wicked. ⁴ Because I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore My sword will go out from its sheath against ^[a](C)humanity from south to north.
