And Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.

12 For Yahweh of hosts will have a day of reckoning
Against (E)everyone who is proud and high
And against everyone who is lifted up,
That he may be made low.
13 And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up,
Against all the (F)oaks of Bashan,
14 Against all the (G)high mountains,
Against all the hills that are lifted up,
15 Against every (H)lofty tower,
Against every fortified wall,
16 Against all the (I)ships of Tarshish
And against all the desirable craft.
17 The loftiness of [d]man will be bowed down,
And the [e]men who are high will be made low;
And Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day,

And turns it into dense gloom.

My soul will (G)cry in secret for such pride;
And my eyes will bitterly weep
And flow down with tears
Because the (H)flock of Yahweh has been taken captive.
